The hotel

Florida's first AAA Five Diamond hotel – need we say any more?! The Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale is glamorous yet unpretentious with it’s nautical design, comfy seating areas and relaxed ambience. Only the highway separates the hotel from the beachfront, but with a pedestrian bridge you’ll have your toes in the sand in minutes. Alternatively, plot up in a poolside cabana on the elevated deck looking over the Atlantic with it’s dedicated bar and food service at hand to meet your needs. With an expansive fitness centre overlooking the Intracoastal waterway and a spa that offers it’s own happy hour you can ensure your mind and body are well looked after. When it’s time to explore further afield, mainland Los Olas Boulevard is the place to go, just a short water taxi ride away, for which you’ll receive daily complimentary tickets from the hotel.

The hotel was beautiful, the staff was super friendly and accommodating . We had a great attendant at the beach named AB . He was super friendly and went above and beyond for us. A young girl provided drinks for us in a super timely fashion. Overall, best experience yet!

When we pulled up there were no valet there to greet us after several minutes a couple came out this is not normal for Ritz Carlton as we’ve been to many throughout the US. We get to our room and it’s mediocre again not the norm for a Ritz property. After turning in for the night we hear this loud drip coming from out air unit the carpet is all wet from the unit and our Toilet was filling and flushing on its own! I called the front desk the next day and they said they would send maintenance up we went to the pool I came back up to get something several hours later and they fixed the air but the toilet was still flushing on its own so I called again and they said they would send someone again. I went back down to the pool! We came back up later that day and the maintenance person tracked what looked like feces (assuming dog) through our bathroom floor and on our bath rug (pictures below) completely disgusted I go downstairs talk to the manager about all our issues and she offers us a new room OR Bonvoy points and a $300 credit! Honestly we should have been given a new upgraded room and a credit in my opinion! The bed was very hard and our pillows were very flat not comfortable at all! The ONE pool they have is small and over crowded with kids so if you are going for relaxation do not recommend this property for that! The kids took over the pool with toys throwing balls everywhere and splashing all over disrespectful! Went to take a bath and the bath water was green yes green (pictures below) I called the front desk and they said this is normal Fort Lauderdale water because their water comes from the Everglades 🤔 I said then why was my sink, toilet and shower water clear? Did not make sense! we have been to Fort Lauderdale many times at other properties and never seen this before! We also have friends that live in Fort Lauderdale and they said that’s not Normal! Abdaulla was an amazing attendant. So accomadating. They ran out of towels and he went out of his way to find them for us. Made sure our chairs were clean and ready. Very friendly. Beach was beautiful. Food was great we celebrated a friends birthday that turned out to be perfect. Room was beautiful. Love the view.
