The hotel

An inspiring oceanfront beach retreat, the Royal Palm offers modern, vibrant living whilst keeping intact many signature elements of the original Art Deco design. Rooms are gorgeous, with stunning city or ocean views, rich linen robes to relax in and organic bath products. When you’re not out and about sightseeing or strutting your stuff down at the beach, relax by one of the two pools, a cocktail in one hand, a good book in the other. There’s also a state-of-the-art fitness centre and Renew Spa based on Himalayan salt with six treatment rooms. There are restaurants all around you but for good eats look no further than Florida Cookery, the hotel’s signature restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For cocktails, South Shore is definitely one of the places to be seen.

Christopher at the front desk was extremely helpful. There was a mix up with my reservation (on my side) and he was able to resolve it and handled it in a professional and friendly manner.

Well, after reading some of the reviews I was pretty nervous about booking our vacation here, but because it offered very reasonably-priced junior suite rooms, which were essential for our needs traveling with a two year old, I decided to give it a go. Don’t believe the negative reviews - this place was great. Cool location and art deco vibe, nice pool area with entrance right onto the beach, coffee bar and restaurant/bars on site were perks we liked. Housekeeping came every day and did a great job, valet team (shout out to John) were always prompt, and front desk team were very service oriented. Yes, the rooms are a bit shabby and a renovation could turn this hotel from good to great, but at the end of the day we needed a clean and comfortable space to lay our head after spending most of our time out in the sun and this place delivered that. I thought it was especially accommodating to families and everyone was patient with our young son. You don’t always get that vibe at trendy Miami resorts. We would absolutely return. Read less

Very friendly and efficient staff. Special kudos to front desk team, and Christophe who managed to complete what I thought was an impossible task. Good for business and pleasure, fine location right on the beach. Bar prices perhaps a little high ($30 for a beer and nachos) but I guess that's not unusual for high end hotels here.

Great service and hospitality from the people at the front desk. Took great care of us and made sure we had everything go smoothly. Highly recommend.
