W Dubai Mina Seyahi

Service from staff was accommodating and helpful. Special mention to Erica, who was so very patient, considerate and determined to make sure we were placed in the best room possible, when we requested a change. Coming to the end of her shift, she was still as dedicated to task as anyone could be. She took the first opportunity to check with us if everything was alright, when she saw us the next day. An incredible asset to any team. The main disappointments really ought to be addressed by the GM and higher-ups. We were really taken by the UAE Resident Staycation Offer. However, staff and systems have not been fully equipped to deliver on this seamlessly. Dear Mr/Madam GM, for your consideration: 1) The advertised 2pm late checkout was not presented as a "if possible" basis; staffers had to be informed by us – repeatedly – that this was the case; eventually we even pulled out the page on the property site that stipulates this. 2) The 25% F&B discount on all Mina Seyahi Complex restaurants was not briefed to servers. Calls to W Hotel had to be made to double check and front desk must have been busy because we waited 15 minutes for our check before the servers at Sui Mui kindly extended the discount on their own discretion. This wasn't the case at Bussola and Attiko, and all the other places we dined at, so we had to get W Hotel front desk staff to retroactively apply the discounts. This could easily lead to guests overpaying and not knowing because you'd expect the discounts to be applied automatically when charges are signed to the room. 3) The Heavenly Spa by Westin called me up to go down and pay the bill in person AFTER my partner had already left for her treatment. Their system is not connected to the W Hotel's despite all amenities and establishments throughout the Mina Seyahi Complex being advertised as part of the attraction of staying at the W Hotel. The spa team is an incredibly personable and attentive gang and management really need support them by giving them all the tools they need to deliver a flawless hospitality experience. 4) Asking for a reservation at Attiko on the Bonvoy app was met with an explanation that the outlet handles its own bookings and a number to reach them myself. Competitive benchmarking would reveal that for comparably positioned luxury properties, restaurant reservations anywhere in the UAE would be made on your behalf by simply using the property's app; much less one actually in the same property AND marketed as one of the many establishments part of the Mina Seyahi Complex Staycation Offer guests could visit. Even if such a service wasn't table stakes for W's peer set, it seems such a desperately low-hanging missed opportunity to differentiate yourself as a consummate hospitality pioneer. Staffers on the front lines, they score 5/5 for me. An overall 4/5 rating is because Madam/Mr. GM + Marriott execs in MENA and Global HQ, you've got to do better. As a fan and frequent guest, as a shareholder, I hope you fix the eminently fixable and do justice to the dedication of your outstanding ladies and gentlemen you're so lucky to have on the floor. Stayed here as two couples for 5 nights, from beginning to end the service was superb. Found all the hotel staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Attiko is a must visit for dinner, really nice vibe and delicious food. Hotel pool is really beautiful, not a lot of sunbeds so make sure you are there early to secure some. We stayed in the King Sea View room, probably the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in - big shower/bathtub, great amenities, bed huge and comfy and the small bar area is a great touch! The cleaning team really go to extra lengths when sprucing up your room, it was really appreciated and definitely not missed. Small things as some other reviews have mentioned work is going on outside and they do start reasonably early/there is a club that goes on until quite late (bring earplugs if you aren’t a great sleeper). What a hotel! As soon as we entered we were blown away by the interior, which is stunning throughout. I have never experienced such friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble at this hotel, we didn't encounter one member of staff who fell below excellent levels of service and we genuinely felt like the most important guests in the hotel - despite being in a mid-level room and not paying a fortune. Our room was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable, pool area was small but luxurious, food at breakfast and lunch was fabulous. Location was perfect for us, we took the Lime scooters down to the marina for a spin and to JBR The Walk which we really enjoyed, and would recommend. So glad we chose not to stay on the Palm as it's a real faf to get to and from places if you want to explore Dubai during your trip. I honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough. We stayed at 3 hotels during our time in Dubai and my husband and I both wished we had just booked the W for the whole stay. The other 2 hotels were up in the centre and didn't come close in terms of staff friendliness (for reference - The Taj Dubai and Emirates Towers, both nice, but really no comparison) We will certainly be back to this hotel on any future trips and have been recommending it to friends and family since our return. To address the elephant in the room - yes there is some construction noise. We were put in a high room on the same side as the neighbouring construction site and slept fine. To be fair, there don't seem to be many places in Dubai that wouldn't be affected by some construction noise. It was too loud to enjoy sitting out on the balcony really, but we don't tend to do that anyway. We didn't notice it at breakfast or around the pool and it really didn't affect our stay. I'm always a bit suspicious of reviews that shout out members of staff, but I must mention Asila at breakfast who was just so incredibly friendly and helpful and made a real difference to our holiday. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for our recent 2 stays with you!! What can we say? The W Mina Seyahi is superb! Our favourite hotel in Dubai! The amazing decor, fabulous views, outstanding rooms, stylish pool, great resort facilities, amazing Ginger Moon restaurant with fantastic food! Why do we keep coming back? Its you - the staff! The out of this world attention you give us to make us feel so special, nothing is too much trouble! The best service ever! Always stay at this hotel. Services are great cleanliness is amazing. Priyanshu from the style team is always very friendly and polite and makes the room look amazing. The whole team at W are very accommodating, few hick ups sometimes but always very quick and eager to rectify. The complex is a very nice place to be. Heavenly spa also has great services. Read less
