Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Phoenix, Arizona

Virgin rating

The hotel

If ever a hotel was deliciously OTT, this is it. Its 39 acres host enough pools to swim in a different one every day of the week (and still have one spare); 2 championship golf courses; and dining experiences including a Sunday Brunch that will satisfy your hunger for a week, and High Teas with dainty cakes and finger sandwiches. The setting’s pretty lavish too – near Phoenix Mountain Preserve and Biltmore Fashion Park Mall. A Frank Lloyd Wright design masterpiece, with a 1930s pool rumoured to have been Marilyn Monroe’s favourite, Arizona Biltmore’s past is so fascinating they even host history tours. That’s not to say it’s stuck in the past: modern musts here include complimentary WiFi, a fitness centre, a 92-foot waterslide, and five dining venues serving contemporary takes of classic dishes.

We had a truly exceptional time enjoying an impeccable design, elegance, great restaurants, and personalized service. Image of the Tripadvisor rating Citrus club lounge not worth it for family traveling with kids

I think it is a beautiful lounge with very nice relaxing indoor and outdoor areas for adults. The food decent. Citrus club lounge is an above 21 year old lounge so no kids are allowed, which we knew. The big issue that really turned me off is when I took at 2 mini cold cut sandwiches for my kids at the pool right next to the lounge, this one older gentleman lounge staff made a big stink about it. I don't remember his name, but that really rubbed us off the wrong way. We paid $1,200 a night. And 2 small cold cut sandwiches? Wow! I think if you are traveling with everyone above 21 years old, this lounge is actually quite nice. Very nice bar, one of the nicest club level lounge bars. But if you are with family and kids, no way; never again. Read less

Make time for a pickleball clinic or lesson with Brendan Easterling and Josh Branyan at the Arizona Biltmore. It's a great facility with super instruction. I ran two corporate group programs with them, and they did a fabulous job. They created hours of fun, instruction and play for all levels of play. And if you just want to play, the Arizona… Read more
