For the price that was charged for each night , the rooms should be cleaner, the room smelled like Body odor when you first walk in. I could hear the people above me and every time my neighbors closed their door my room shook. There were animals allowed in my area. I was never asked if I wanted a room from dogs.

The hotel is beautiful. The restaurant inside (Jack’s Monterey) was amazing and all of the staff were so friendly and kind. We had the best time during the Big Sur International Marathon weekend!

Don’t get the filet at the restaurant, it’s not worth the price for an over cooked unseasoned steak. Rooms were okay, but not worth $1,000 for two… Read more

Portola Hotel & Spa is a beautiful place to stay. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing but pleasurable. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and have a coastal modern style. Lovely ambiance. Many eateries and shops just steps outside the hotel doors.
