The shower didn't drain properly and thus kept flooding. Also, the lights in the bathroom kept turning off after 30 seconds, which was extremely frustrating. Also, I didn't like the fact that they did away with the small toiletry bottles. I also ran out of towels and espresso, but I guess I could have called down to ask for more. I would say it’s perfect for a short stay while attending an event, but don’t expect anything special. HOWEVER. I was lucky enough to experience the Fairmont Gold rooms and experience between the 14th and 16th floor. Those rooms were refurbished recently and oh my, what an experience. It is truly a hotel within a hotel. If you’re going for leisure, please book a Fairmont Gold room. The staff is nicer and friendlier than my experience in a regular room, the room is brighter, bigger and you truly feel in a Fairmont. Read less

Best of all, as with any Fairmont, was the unmatched service. Everywhere we went there was a friendly hotel staff ready to greet us with a smile and provide assistance. We especially appreciated the help offered by the concierge, Gail Walker. She as ready to answer all of our questions about dining, sight seeing and getting around Chicago, which was greatly appreciated since it was our first trip to the area. Read less
