Intercontinental Chicago

Chicago, USA

Virgin rating

The hotel

There are few better properties from where to enjoy the sights of Chicago and if you're hoping to shop 'til you drop or check out Lake Michigan's beaches, the Intercontinental allows you to do so in style. Thanks to a fabulous location right in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, take a visit to the Navy Pier, John Hancock Tower and the Shedd Aquarium which are all within walking distance from your front door. A quick explore of the hotel uncovers a couple of restaurants for all-day dining and there's no better place to enjoy a succulent piece of prime beef other than Michael Jordan's Steakhouse. More sustenance can be found in the ENO bar which has a plentiful selection of wines and cheese, although the Michael Jordan bar is always popular around nightcap time. Finally, if you're thinking up excuses to have a cheeky massage in the Windy City then the Intercontinental's spa* will no doubt be able to twist your arm although, a dip in the indoor pool or a few moments in the sauna also offer equally relaxing alternatives.

I was at the Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile for three nights. (1) We thought that we had paid extra for a view, but our first room did not have one. We called the front desk and they put us in a nicer room than we deserved. (2) We loved the bathroom floor tile and wanted to get some for a bathroom remodel at home. The front desk talked to the building engineer and found out where the tile came from. (3) And then, they gave me a late check-out time on my last day, so I could come back to my room in early afternoon, after my seminar ended. The price was more than I would normally pay, but I am now convinced that it was worth it, and I will do it again. Read less

Will at the front door was so nice and welcoming. He would ask us about our plans, provide directions, make jokes. He truly stood out!

Was greeted at the front desk by a very friendly Willy, who was very welcoming and friendly. My room was clean and comfortable, and overall, the staff that I encountered were wonderful.
