Golden Nugget Las Vegas

The hotel

Boasting some of Las Vegas’ finest rooms and suites after a $380 million dollar transformation, it’s easy to understand why. The accommodation is divided between four majestic towers with wonderful views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s incredible pool. Then there's the Tank, as the swimming complex is known, comes complete with a shark tank, 3-storey waterslide and 13 private cabanas for hire. There’s also an infinity pool, aptly named The Hideout, which is strictly for adults only. Other temptations include a superb spa with steam rooms, sauna, massage and beauty treatments plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre to work off those American-sized portions! Several restaurants are at your disposal, including Vic and Anthony’s, one of the country’s finest steakhouses. Alternatively, head to Chart House for sumptuous seafood, Red for Pan-Asian cuisine or Grotto for Italian fare. Come sundown, Troy Liquor Bar is the place to be with a lively atmosphere, DJs and exotic cocktails. An incredible hotel with an incredible range of amenities, look out in particular for the Hand of Faith in the lobby - a 61-pound gold nugget found in Australia in 1980 with a metal detector just six inches below ground – now that’s Lady Luck at her finest!

The one and only reason to stay there is the super access to Fremont street. Front desk unfriendly, the access to the shower controls in the bath room are weird and not user friendly. I had to call and be on hold several times to get my detail receipt. The front desk had told me they could print boarding passes but then had much trouble doing it-took half hour. There is no simple printed map of the hotel- said they lost the master and I must use cel- the map on cel was very hard to follow. Ads show several resturants but at least two were closed with no info as to why nor when they would open. Read less

No complaints as it was a clean comfortable room. There was no mini fridge which would have helped . There was no room cleaning but we were okay with that. I was impressed with the restaurants in this hotel! I highly recommend the Saltgrass Restaurant steakhouse. Great food at its best! The Grotto pzza was mouth watering with fresh basil! And for breakfasts I suggest the Claim Jumper. Delicious oatmeal, fruit and pancakes! The location is great , close to the Event Centre and Fremont Street. Needless to say we will be back at the Golden Nugget, P.S. The Casino is top quality! Read less

Great and enjoyable! I know in the future I will be staying there again. I upgraded this time around but I'll try the suites next time around and see how that works.
