MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

Probably won’t stay Here Again. Pool is very disappointing. Stayed here many times Only 1 pool open and lazy river. Hard to find a chair, anywhere by pool or lazy river. And then Employees are not Very Friendly. Gambled for 2 hours plus and was NEVER offered a drink!

I had not Stayed at MGM before. Would certainly consider it again. Overall, excellent accommodations, friendly staff the buffet was slightly sub par but that is to be expected anywhere in Vegas. other restaurants were exceptionally good. And I left the casino with more money than I went in with!

Stayed for 5 nights in April for a wedding. Hotel room was tired with peeling wallpaper. No kettle or coffee making facilities. No fridge in the room or water (without paying). The bars and restaurants were fine, but expensive as you would expect in Vegas. Avoid buying water or snacks from the hotel shops, unnecessarily expensive.
