The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

The Rio Las Vegas has been reborn, and it's still just as iconic, with generously-sized rooms featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and jaw-dropping views of Las Vegas Valley. Seemingly inspired by the Strip’s global ‘landmarks’, the Rio’s array of restaurants take you on a worldwide tour, from the Asian flavours of its dim sum, all-you-can-eat Indian buffets, and the hearty American favourites of VooDoo Steakhouse, which takes in the glitz of Vegas from its 50th floor vantage point. And if that's not enough, you've got the newly opened Canteen Food Hall too! With a fully revamped pool area featuring 5 different pools, the recent upgrades to this hotel make it a real game changer when it comes to great value Vegas hotels. Rediscover the enchantment that defines the essence of Rio, amongst the rhythm of Vegas.

I've stayed at the RIO Hotel and Casino numerous times, but this is the best it has been in 20 years. The newly remodeled room we stayed in was gorgeous. I love the huge sectional, comfy bed, and the back-lit tree sculpture added a beautiful tropical touch and made for a great night-light. The casino was not smoky. All the food we ate there was delicious, especially try an Atta Boy Burger with onion rings. It was awesome and reasonably priced. Go see WOW. It's a great show and much less expensive than other shows on the strip for the same experience. Penn & Teller was also a great show. If you stay there, ask at the ticket counter about discounted tickets. You can also get free show tickets once you play and reach 2,000 credits, which isn't hard to do. The pools are great and not crowded. I definitely recommend RIO if you want a more relaxed experience with less crowds and no sketchy people coming in off the street. Stay there all week, eat, play and enjoy the shows. There's no need to go anywhere else. Read less

Do not stay here. Lacking proper facilities, especially if you live on the high floor. We were stranded for a half hour because there was only one working elevator for a hotel that has 50 floors. The view is not good either. Not worth the price at all.

The room was much larger than I expected. The Rio sits off the main strip just a little. It's pretty easy to get to the strip with a short Uber/Taxi ride or not too far to walk. Take into consideration all the walking you will do on the strip before deciding to walk to the strip from the Rio.
