The Driskill is a beautiful hotel, conveniently located. The accommodations are great, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the bar is lively and popular.

Staff services were slow. One of the morning, there is no hot water and the guests were not well informed in advance until I have to call the front desk before I realize it will not be available the whole day.

In a post-covid world where service expectations are diminished, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of attentiveness and service. Thank you!

The hotel should be updated to not look quite so oppressive and old fashioned. Yes, it is a wonder of the late 19th Century, if that is your taste, but it gives off a feeling of darkness and tawdriness. That being said, it also appears to be slightly seedy and cheaply maintained. Our bathroom had a step inside its tight confines-which demanded extreme care. And since nowhere in the room or bathroom was there a night, or even a dim light, you must subject yourself to total glare if you need the bathroom in the middle of the night. The elevator, at least in the old section, is impossibly slow. Finger marks and smudges are all over it...and its floor is either dirty, or looks that way. Read less
