The rooms were clean and the location allowed us to walk to several cites. The restaurant in the hotel was lovely and the food very good. All the personnel we encountered was friendly and professional, Tony the concierge was extremely helpful and a joy to met.

When departing, we had to get to the BWI Airport 45 min. away, was quoted $160 from a connector company. Tony provided a taxi, friendly driver, turned out to be $80. When wanting to see the Capitol, he even walked us across the street for the correct bus. Asked him while walking across if he provides a seeing eye dog! Re: ROOM SERVICE, we had a food poisoning problem coming from San Antonio. After a day & 1/2 of not eating, the kitchen provided plain chicken broth, (definitely not on the menu), we couldn't be more grateful for this comfort "medicine". When you're down & out, it takes one humane and caring staff member to go beyond the call of duty. No one would tell us who provided it! Trying to leave a gratuity to this secret gem. Rooms were very comfortable, spotless clean, and glassed in rain shower. We would surely stay again, 12 min. walk to the White House. Read less

I was traveling on business, so I didn’t have time to take advantage of all the amenities offered. I used the rec room, it is nicely appointed, two treadmills, other machines, and a generous set of free weights. There’s a watercooler too. Of course, steps may not be needed in DC, depending on your travel. The Hamilton is located fairly conveniently to restaurants and the Metro, but I say this as someone who likes to walk. There are four tiny elevators in the lobby, but they run often enough. My room didn’t have a minibar but I saw one and it is dangerously tempting. They have great packaging to lure you into crunching your way through your stay. Bathrooms are normal, I had decent water pressure, and the shower gel is MINTY. The hotel called a taxi for me to the airport, they were very gracious. I’d stay here again for business. It’s outside my budget for leisure. Read less

We hade a nice stay at Hamilton and we are very satisfied with the room and the service. Our room was big and comfortable. We got the twin beds we reserved which is not always a given. Tony the concierge was a hero and gave us more service then can be expected. He always went out of his way to help us and always with a smile. A true gentleman.

I deleted my previous 1 star review and am amending my review slightly. My original review is below. After I posted it, I was contacted by senior management to apologize for the issues we incurred and resolve the outstanding issues with our credit card and breakfast. I appreciate that they reached out and fixed things, hence the updated review, but think its frustrating I had to resort to a bad review to get their attention and get our errant credit charges fixed. Would be willing to give them another try if the rooms were better. Original review Everything in our room was broken ( shower, door lock). Management didn't fix it. Bathrooms are tiny and falling apart. I saw mold underneath the sink. We did the breakfast package and Via Sophia was constantly out of things like milk for breakfast. How do you run out of milk? Our server there was incredibly rude and also overcharged us for breakfast even though we had a package. On check out, they overcharged us on our credit card, and they are impossible to get ahold of to fix it. Read less
