Recently stayed for 5 nights at the Thompson DC. Upon check in were upgraded to balcony rooms on the fourth floor. Both rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. It was nice to be able to sit on the balcony each night overlooking Tingey Street. We stayed during a time when the Nationals were playing every night and the street/crowd noise was imperceivable. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient to the Metro (1 block way) and local restaurants and shopping. Blue Jackets, Salt Line, Chloe, District Winery and Dacha beer garden were our favorites. Breakfast was provided each morning in the Surveyor restaurant and food was very good with professional staff. The hotel had its own coffee bar with a friendly and attentive barista. The bar scene in the restaurant is outstanding with a friendly and cordial staff. We frequented both the lobby and rooftop bar. The view from the roof is amazing. Housekeeping was provided each day with no issues or lapses in service. I would not hesitate to stay there again and am looking forward to our next visit. Read less

Very nice rooms and common areas. Friendly staff. Nice bathroom. DC is expensive. Mentally prepare yourself.

Great place to stay. The location is nice not far from most areas of interest, but also not right in an area that is too busy. Staff are all very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Having stayed in multiple Hyatt properties in DC before, if you have status and want recognition, avoid this one. No upgrade at all; no recognition of status at check-in; no daily waters; and had to prompt staff to tell me the breakfast amenity. Very noisy (both from the street and hallways) and thermostat never seems to get cold enough. The… Read more
Having stayed in multiple Hyatt properties in DC before, if you have status and want recognition, avoid this one. No upgrade at all; no recognition of status at check-in; no daily waters; and had to prompt staff to tell me the breakfast amenity. Very noisy (both from the street and hallways) and thermostat never seems to get cold enough. The in-room coffee is truly awful, and while the breakfast is fine, it certainly isn’t special and can’t make up for other fundamental shortcomings. Read less
