Lovely place for the day or evening drinks often with a live singer. For us this island has the perfect balance on being a perfect Maldives experience and not being too commercial. Stayed in the sunset beach villas this time which are lovely. Food is amazing and the staff all polite, helpful and happy. This place is perfect for my soul and I have never felt so relaxed as I do here. Cannot wait to book up for our next visit. Read less

Another wonderful holiday on this island, our 4th time, this time we took family with us and there were 8 of us. I have previously stayed on 2 other parts of the island and it is beautiful wherever you stay, but the upper south side is my favourite for the reason that I have some slight mobility problems and find this area nearer to amenities by walking through the lovely gardens. Manoj Lovell who is the reservation manager very kindly kept our family together in the perfect location for me. It was lovely to return and be greeted by a lot of the same staff, a special mention for the staff in Sufura restaurant, and the ladies in Cafe Mass and Thava. The young lady whom I think manages cafe Mass and Thava gave my daughter and partner a special surprise when they went for a romantic meal one evening at Thava and the table had been laid out beautifully with flowers. The staff are all hardworking and lovely, the rooms are cleaned daily with an additional turndown service. Beds are really comfy, minibar refilled daily. What I like about this island is that it's not too big, but big enough to have a variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. Although at 95% capacity when we were there it always seems peaceful and quiet. The only really busy time is the buffet restaurant so we went later at 8.30 when the initial rush was over and was a quieter dining experience. The buffet restaurant had themed evenings and the food was always good. Cafe Mass does burgers pizza's sandwiches etc, Thava is Mediterranean and you need to book this as soon as you arrive as often you may not get a booking for 5 days, however there was 8 of us so maybe we were more limited because of that. The Surfura restaurant is a curry restaurant and also has food themed to different regions of India, the food here was excellent also. There is a lovely pool with swim up bar, there is some evening entertainment in the Haliboli bar but low key. They also have pool table, ping pong and table football which the youngsters like, they have a book swopping area and also do a late breakfast, and there is a kids club nearby. The sunset bar has been refurbished and extended since our visit last year and it is a lovely setting right on the beach. The Albino bar is also right on the beach with a list of 101 cocktails and drinks are generous measures. They have a spa, they also have a reflexology centre, I had 2 full body reflexology massages which were really good. They have a gym, water sports centre. I have been to one other island before I found this one and now I wouldn't go anywhere else as I would be afraid of it not being so good. Some people may prefer smaller or adults only, but this island has it all. The beach villas have trees in front of them which gives much needed shade if you need it or pull your bed right down onto the sand. The sea is so blue and clear, snorkelling is good, they also do boat trips out for enhanced snorkelling and diving. And once again thankyou to all the staff. We hope to return. Read less

Wonderful island to go to, the bungalows are lovely and clean with great amenities. The food is fresh and very tasty with a great selection and the chefs and the front of house team catered superbly to gluten free! The staff go above and beyond to make your stay as special as it can be especially Nizam in housekeeping with the bed decorations when celebrating an occasion (see pictures for examples)! The care and detail he puts into it really is incredible. The island is very well maintained and looked after making it a beautiful place to stay. The stand out restaurant for us was Cafe Mass. The food was very good and the staff provided a fantastic service keeping the drinks flowing and were extremely friendly and chatty. Especially Chathuranga and Saumya whose hospitality was impeccable and made you want to stay at Cafe Mass for hours and is definitely the place to go if you visit the island! So if you are wondering whether to visit the island the answer is yes you should as you will have an amazing time. Read less
