It never felt crowded or busy. The beach was incredibly beautiful! The beach lounge chairs were very comfortable and they had a good amount of them too. The beach towels were very soft and a great size too. The food was delicious at each place we ate. The drinks were very good and refreshing!! You always got service with a smile and a warm greeting. Especially from Coreylee, Rose, Garnell and Wendy- I wish I could remember everyone’s names because honestly, they were all wonderful. We did do a Day trip to Blue Haven and that was beautiful as well. Smaller than Alexandra but beautiful and wonderful service as well. We definitely plan to return! Read less

This trip was booked thru Travel Agent Jennifer Byrne with The Tropical Travelers. This was our first trip out of the country due to years of raising 5 children and participating in their activities. When we arrived at the resort we were greeted with amazing hospitality and care, taken to our room after a brief visit around the property to familiarize ourselves with where everything was. The property, people, accommodations, views, ease of access to adventures, and the sister property Blue Haven made this such an absolute pleasure to enjoy and we will definitely circle back. The staff at the resort and The Tropical Travelers staff made this an awesome first time adventure out of the country and already have the next booking set up with her(Jennifer) to Jamaica. The Tropical Travelers really took care of us on this trip. Read less

My husband and I recently visited the Alexandra Resort for our anniversary vacation and it was wonderful. Check in was easy and quick, but we were one of only a few check ins at the time. Saturday and Sunday arrivals seem to be much busier and probably take longer, but we arrived on a Wednesday and had no issues. We were greeted with rum punch and showed around the resort, then dropped off at one of the restaurants for lunch until our room was ready, which took less than an hour. There was even a bottle of champagne and a plate of fruit, cheese and crackers waiting for us when we got to our room which was a sweet gesture and a nice surprise. I had read a lot of reviews that commented on the reception area and it does have more of a modern appearance while the rest of the resort has a different look, but that made no difference to us. Our room was clean, the fridge was restocked every day, and we even had a washer and dryer which we were not expecting, though not all studio rooms have them. We did talk to others that had water pressure or temperature issues in other buildings, but we were in Prima Donna and had no problems with that. The cleaning staff were all very friendly and nice as well. There were fruits, sandwiches, salads and snacks available all hours at the smoothie station which was nice and the Turquoise Grill had late night bites of chicken tenders hot dogs and fries too. The food was great overall, especially the jerk chicken on the beach and the specialty restaurants, we heard others raving about Fire and Ice at Blue Haven, but did not find an opportunity to take advantage of the free shuttle over there. All the staff we encountered were friendly and kind. I'd also read several other reviews that mentioned rude or indifferent staff, but that was not the case for us. We had a garden studio that overlooked the pool, we could just see the ocean from the balcony and that appeared to be the same view for all but the first floor rooms. The resort is small so everything was very close and convenient. While we were there, the resort was nearly full, and it was a bit difficult to get a reservation for two at the restaurants, but we were easily accommodated when we just went and asked if we could get a table. Finding chairs on the beach can be a little frustrating if you're not an early riser, but again, it wasn't awful. The entertainment staff was fantastic! Kimron, Lettuce, Barbie, and Razor we're funny and always laughing, smiling and joking (sorry if I'm forgetting anyone). The bartenders Farrar (hope I spelled the names right), Keisha and Edmund were awesome! My husband especially loved Edmund's spicy margaritas. All the liquor at the bars like Patron for margaritas and Bambarra Rum for pina coladas or daiquiris was used very liberally. We didn't take advantage of the bikes that are available, but we did walk to the Fish Fry which was a cool experience, it was less than a ten minute walk from the resort, you can literally just follow the crowd and the music, we felt very safe walking there and back at night. The watersports such as snorkel gear, catamaran, paddle board and kayaks were also available, but we didn't use those either, even though we could have very easily. We brought our own snorkels and mostly just lounged on the beach. Getting taxis or cabs seems to be hit or miss, but the reception staff is helpful with that as well, all you have to do is ask. Our first visit to Provo and to Grace Bay Beach at the Alexandra was truly awesome and because of that, we will certainly be going back. Read less

We stayed 4 nights in the beginning of May. We are a family of 3. We had a two bedroom oceanfront suite on the 3rd floor of the Lady Rose building which was so grand, clean, and perfect. I highly recommend springing for the oceanfront views. If you are spending the money to stay at the Alexandra then spend a little more for the views. Our housekeeper, Fontilla Norvilus, made our stay extra special with a fully stocked fridge, coffee supplies and extra towels. We would just leave a note and tip each day with our request and she would deliver. We were able to make reservations each morning for dinner or we would just go to the buffet. Food options are plentiful. It is an all-inclusive resort so you can't be too picky. After reading reviews of people complaining about the food or the lack of coffee and ice cream selections or the minimal snack bar options, I just don't understand how people can have those expectations at an all-inclusive. They should pay double and stay at the Ritz then. The staff were amazing. They work so hard so if you don't get a smile every time you walk by them it's completely understandable. We didn't encounter any rudeness as other people have posted. The beach is amazing. If you want first row seats, then yes, you need to get out there early but if you are fine with second or third row then take your time and sleep in a little bit. The beach bar was so convenient even if I just wanted to fill my yeti with ice and filtered water. The nightly activities made the stay extra special. From the silent disco to the karaoke, we had a blast. It is loud if you are in your room, but it ends at 10pm so just be patient. The only excursion we did was Island Vibes snorkeling which we had to book on our own. We chose that one because it was recommended by a friend but the resort has many other options and they pick you up right in front of the resort. Read less
