Just returned from a 12 day stay on ellidahoo. The island is beautiful and everything I imagined. We stayed in a spacious standard room (102) only grumble was the adjoining door to the next room where we could hear the neighbours snoring and taking. Nabeem kept our room impeccably clean and well stocked. He worked extremely hard every day and always had a smile. We mainly ate at the ala carte restaurant as I prefer to have portion control than a buffet style layout. From reception to the bar staff everyone was polite, friendly and very attentive. The 2 bar men in the ala carte restaurant worked hard in the extreme temperatures and always had a smile. The pool by midday on sunny days become too warm to cool down in and this would be my only criticism. We took the 90.mins speedboat to the resort from Male airport but on our return opted to pay for the seaplane and I'm so glad we did as the views are spectacular. Thank you ellidahoo for making my dream destination everything I ever imagined ❤️ Read less

Loved this hotel, the staff are fabulous, the food was amazing everyday, plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant. Also a very good menu in the a la carte restaurant, special thankyou to raishan for looking after us there he was very attentive and such a lovely young man. The staff in the main bar were also hardworking, lovely and looked after us very well, always asking how our day was, thankyou Chandana, Jesica, Asela, Nazzeer, Caddam, Madura and Dilham. I would highly recommend the sunset cruise, we had a ball with some of the bar staff on it. The beach is quite small in comparison to other islands we have been to but the sea life is amazing, the shark feeding is a must, I dragged my husband to it every night, it fascinated me. We stayed in a water villa which was fabulous, there’s was no access to the sea from it as the coral is live and the hotel don’t want it getting damaged (rightly so). The room was very spacious and spotless thanks to our cleaner Alamin, he did a lovely display on the bed of flowers and towel art for my birthday, we also got a turndown service every evening too which was a lovely touch. The only downside to the water villa is your not allocated a sun bed on the beach, they’re all numbered to the garden and beach villas and there’s not enough to go around everyone which is a shame because we wanted to use the beach but couldn’t. The pool area was lovely and clean with fresh towels available but sometimes could be a bit noisy. One big negative that we didn’t like, we arrived at the resort at 11am so missed breakfast but got lunch, on our departure date we were getting picked up at 3pm but got told we weren’t allowed lunch unless we paid for it as we had it on our arrival date, I understand not being allowed the a la carte restaurant but surely the buffet restaurant would have been ok as there is some wastage there anyway everyday . So be aware your all inclusive finishes at 12pm even if you’re being picked up late, that was just a horrible end to what was a fantastic holiday that we have never experienced before in previous hotels in the Maldives. First of all, I am an experienced Maldives traveler. I have no visited 7 different islands. Ellaidhoo offers by far the best reef. You can find everything, from beautiful coral gardens, which of many corals are still alive, to big predators likes sharks. You will see different kind of rays and beautiful fish on a daily basis. All employees on this island try to give their best to make your holiday memorable. The food from breakfast to dinner is nice! There should be something for everyone. They offer live cooking stations, authentic Sri Lankan/maldivian food as well as western food. Special thanks to my „personal“ attendant Genahi. She did everything once i had questions or any concerns about different topics. She made a great job. Another thanks to madawan ( main bar) and Akram ( main restaurant), both made sure that I never went out of drinks. Do all in all, if you are in search of an island, where you can relax and dive/snorkel like crazy you are absolutely right on Ellaidhoo. But be aware of the fact, that Ellaidhoo is not the typical postcard island with big and marvelous beaches. Because of ellaidoos geography, it’s mandatory that the island is surrounded and protected by seawalls. But if you once understand why, they will not even annoy you. I highly recommend to visit Ellaidhoo. I would suggest, that it mostly makes sense if you have some kind of relationship to the ocean, like diving or snorkelling. Than there will be no requirements untouched. Read less
