Excellent food at Kot Nou restaurant. The staff Krishna, Azagen and Reena were extremely attentive and were excellent. The food was exceptional with thanks to the Chef Tina and Swasty. Thank you very much. Cannot wait to return later in our holiday.

Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here(7 days) and here is our honest review: But before that, here are some names of staff members that went above and beyond to make our trip special. Taron(Waiter at Coral), Aiden(Waiter at Buffet), Akshay and Akhilesh(Restaurant manager? sorry we misspelled his name haha). These four were just outstanding in their service and how they met us everyday. Summary: Our stay here was MAGICAL and we would without a doubt come back. We'll probably never go anywhere else on Mauritius when it comes to where we're staying for our visit. Below you'll find our top 3 positives and negatives. And below that is some positives and negatives about each aspect of our stay. + Service was outstanding! + Everything everywhere was always perfectly clean. + Big shout out to kitchen staff att Lemongrass who were first class in their delivery! - Many times the room service did not take away all dirty dish and dirty towels. We actually had to prepare everything in order for them to fix it while we were away. - Cold gluten-free bread... All bread should always be warm. Not okay. - One staff member at the buffet was rude to us and many others we saw. THE ROOM (Suite, room number 1001): + Very clean. Everything worked properly. AC was nice when it got too hot. - No particular view from the room, which never bothered us at all. You have to bring your own snacks to the minibar which was not appreciated. THE FOOD: So first of all. On your first day you want to go and book your evening dinner for everyday at one of the restaurants. Every lunch is gonna basically be at the buffet and the dinner will be at the buffet IF you have not booked an a la carte restaurant. The options for dinners are lemongrass, kat you and coral. We recommend Lemongrass. If we could have done our week again we would have done Lemongrass every evening. We would have skipped Kat nou. And we would have skipped Coral, but that's simply because we like the Lemongrass food better. So don't skip Coral. In general the food was amazing all over. + LEMONGRASS WAS AMAZING. And the staff there were outstanding. + Buffet was really good everyday with loads of choices. - Kat Nou removed our table when we were 10 minutes late and the restaurant had barely any guests there, they had us wait for no apparent reason. I guess it was because they removed our - One male staff member(waiter, young guy) at the buffet lunch and breakfast was absolutely terrible. Sarcastic in a negative way, never looked us in the eyes, seemed uninterested to help, basically gave us a feeling of him not even wanting to work there. NOW he was definitely an EXCEPTION... all others were absolutely amazing! So we did not really mind him. But he should be fired. THE STAFF: - One guy at the buffet. Already mentioned. - One woman at the towel stand just gave off a real depressing vibe. (There were two women there, the other one was fantastic) + ALL STAFF IN GENERAL WERE AMAZING!!! Made it feel magical. + The staff made us feel like we were in paradise. From the start to the end. Absolute perfection from everyone. Seriously. THE ACTIVITIES: + Catamaran day trip was amazing! - This is not the resorts fault, but the coral was dead on the north side of Mauritius, good to know THE RESORT AREA: + It was perfect! Read less

Recent 11 nights. First holiday since 2019. Rooms: OK but nothing special. Don't pay extra for 'pool/sea view' as you may just be able to see whatever if you lean far out over the (tiny/dirty) balcony with its single chair. In room towels are thin and very small. Change the pool towels last thing at night and again first thing in the morning and use those. Showers leak all over the bedroom floor. Shower has extractor fan but toilet doesn't . Toilet ventilation is by opening louvre window which vents onto the corridor (nice....) ). Little hanging space and few hangers. No drawers. 'Mini-bar' is an empty fridge - you have to fill it yourself with your 'allowance' from the shop in the main restaurant (one can of soft drink and one can of beer each). No snacks. No water in bottles ('eco'). Carafes refilled (if you're lucky) but not sure where from and too big to fit in fridge so room temp. NOT 5 * If you want water during the day you need to buy a small re-usable bottle (£10) from the shop and re-fill it from the 'fountains' either on the beach or by the reception area which you were advised to sanitise before use (weird) Room not cleaned on 2 occasions. Pointless 'towel animals' on bed after complaint. Would have preferred clean towels Food: Substandard . Not 4-5*. Much made of 'Vegan' offerings but mostly just steamed veg. Breads good. Meat offerings poor (worlds smallest chickens). Salads either hundreds of tiny ceramic dishes of strange mixtures or huge bowels of a single item (like cabbage) sitting in splendid isolation in one of the large chilled cabinet areas that takes up most of the centre of the restaurant in the website pictures. Play 'hunt the butter' at each meal (it moved constantly). Deserts tiny like the salads. All very pretty but tasted of nothing and you need about 10 to make up for the lack of main course. Lots of fish but mostly in some sort of 'stew'. Breakfast best meal of the day. Scrambled/Poached/fried eggs always to order plus omelets. Croissants etc great. 'Gala Dinner' every Wednesday night. Supposedly a dress code but nobody bothered. Basically same food as any other time but overly large table cloths instead of 'runners' which draped all over the floor and were a tripping hazard (I almost did a 'pull the table cloth away and leave the place settings in place' accidentally). The website talks about pastries etc in coral bar but we never found them, ditto Juice and Tea Bars and Savoury evening snacks all noticeable by their absence. . Handful of (gluten free) items and fresh crepes every afternoon by the main pool (nice). 'Taba -J' basically trucks like you find at festivals only not as good. One just beer and wine, one Indian style wraps, one watery chinese style, one 'BBQ' (thin slices of fish of chicken barely cooked and served with glutinous sauce. made to order and you will wait 20 minutes). Bars: Nothing special. Drinks varied hugely in consistency as with all these sort of places (nothing is measured). Waiter service only at 'Wave' bar by main restaurant in evening (God Forbid you go to the bar to order), rest order at bar. All staff seemed very young. Imported drinks not included in AI but to know which was which you needed the 'menus' which were only available via QR code ('eco'). In restaurant if you ordered a bottle of (undrinkable) red wine) you would be charged, but you could order as many glasses as you liked (?). Not that you would after the first glass. Beach. Looks great in the pictures, rather disappointing in reality. Seems man made rather than natural (very compressed). Fixed 'grass hut' sun shades per pair of sunbeds. Pools: Claims 3 but one at the front of the Coral is more like a pond (that's the picture on here). Very different vibes at other 2. Coral main pool again looks like big pond and has large bean bag loungers but wasn't very inviting. Main pool by 'Seabreeze' bar big open and virtually unused. All loungers un-padded. Not enough sunshades at main pool for loungers and too heavy to move around as sun moved so you had to move the loungers instead which got messy. Lots of 'don't reserve sunbeds' signs which were of course ignored General: Constant request for room number. Quite annoying. Turns out hotel is not just AI but some Half Board which would have made sense but for the fact that the requests were made at the oddest times (like when asking for water at the dining table) but not when ordering a round of drinks. Not that they actually did anything with the info most of the time. Service wasn't great - we took a fair amount of local currency expecting to tip for good service as we had in other AI resorts but you never saw the same person twice and the service was nothing to write home about - an strange combination of obsequiousness (lots of bowing and hand on heart on entering the restaurant) and disinterest (trying to get a roving waiter's attention around the entertainment area at night). Entertainment: Something every night - mostly small bands with occasional dance group. Mostly quite average. Usually finished by around 10 pm so I don't know where all the 'noise complaints' come from in other reviews. Numerous 'no smoking ' signs around the entertainment area - all ignored. Smoking and vaping common also round pool areas. The Hotel makes much of being a 'chain' and that you can use the other 'Attitudes' freely but there was no indication of where they were or how you would get to them. The hotel seemed quite isolated so it wouldn't be a quick stroll. Excursions: Overpriced and nothing special. Each around £100pp. We booked 2 through 'Summertimes.com one of which was cancelled due to the weather (but 4 weeks on still waiting for the refund although the original booking cost appeared on my credit card within seconds). Probably won't see it back. The other was the 'North Island Tour' which was to take in the 'famous' red roofed church (its a church with a red roof), Botanical Gardens , Sugar/Rum museum and Port Louis for 'unmissable shopping experience' and take a complete day. The Botanical Gardens were great but we could have done with spending more time there (promised a couple of hours but only got 45 mins). Port Louis was a non-event - 20 minutes at a horribly crowded and smelly local market where you were pounced on constantly even if you showed zero interest in the stuff, followed by another 20 minutes on the waterfront on the other side of the underpass (no ramps) which was another world full of designer shops selling stuff at inflated prices (prices all shown without 15% VAT if shown at all), finished off with 20mins going round the stamp museum. Then lunch at the Sugar/Rum Museum which was passable. The Museum was interesting and finished with both sugar and rum tasting (the highlight of the day). Some very potent stuff there!. Very expensive if you actually wanted to buy any though (and again watch out for the VAT on top). We were back by about 2 pm so not the full day promised. Too be honest the best bit was the Botanical Gardens and my advice would be to get a taxi there and back and just pay for entrance (£6) and spend as much time as you like there. Don't bother with Port Louis. Maybe take in the Sugar Rum thing on its own. Flights: We booked the whole thing through British Airways as they flew direct rather than the other operators who mainly fly via Dubai. Very poor service on the flight. Lousy food, Hit turbulence during main meal service which meant no hot drinks and worse still the seat belt light was on for the remainder of the journey (despite the turbulence being well behind us) and the cabin crew refused to let anyone up even to use the toilets for the better part of the journey. We had ordered champagne and chocolates to the seat to celebrate the start of our holiday which were supposed to have arrived after the meal but we were instead given them as we left the aircraft! So much for 'fly the flag'. On our last day we inquired about late check out as our flight was in the evening and check out was 12 noon. Changed our mind when told it would be an astonishing £80 for a couple of hours even though the room was clearly not going to be re-occupied that day. Instead we opted for one of 4 'Departure Lounges' -their term) situated behind the Coral Pool. Think Sauna cabin with a shower (but no toilet). We only charged one thing to the room during our stay which was a very small bottle of mosquito repellent (for the Botanical Gardens which it turned out was not needed). This same in at almost £14 and the manager then pushed for a 'donation' to the 'Marine Discovery Centre' (which had been consistently closed during our stay'. Of course you couldn't say 'no' surrounded by other guests. Oh and don't change money at the hotel - very poor rates. On that subject, we bought travel money in advance from TUI at what appeared to be a reasonable rate. Lulled into a false sense of security I changed the residual (most of it) back on return to discover that the 'no commission line' hid the 22% 'spread' they have between buying and selling rates. All in all, not the holiday we had hoped for. Nobody we spoke to at the hotel (mostly Retired or Honeymooners) said they would return. We won't. Read less

We spent 10 nights at Lagoon Attitude for our Honeymoon and it was brilliant! Our room was ground floor and opened out onto the beach, amazing! There were lots of activities you can do for free, including Kayaking, Pedalow, Paddleboard, daily snorkelling trips, daily glass bottom boat - one tip - make sure you take sea shoes, you need these for paddleboarding! We did the sunset catamaran cruise on our first night, which you do have to pay for, but it's well worth it for the beautiful views, Raoul and the driver bring round drinks and food and play music to get everyone having a good time. The food was exceptional, best we've ever had at a hotel, so much choice (especially on the Gala night) and there was always an option for my vegan wife - especially at breakfast where Asraf and the team made her vegan pancakes every morning and even cooked them on a separate grill! We ate in the buffet restaurant most nights, but ate at Kot Nou for my wife's birthday, again food brilliant, and they even bought her out a vegan cake and sang happy birthday, thank you Krishna and the team! We also ate at Coral restaurant twice and the food again, was exceptional, catering vegan for every course. At lunchtime we ate at Taba J's a couple of times, the street food restaurant on the beach, and the Roti's were phenomenal. All of the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you, Tarun at the day bar made an excellent iced coffee, Julien always served us with a smile at breakfast, Matthieu and Hermant on reception organised my wife's birthday cake and also organised a taxi for us to go to Grand Baie and down to the South of the Island to see Black River Gorges and the Grand Bassin (would highly recommend), we didn't want to do the extra TUI stops so spoke to them and they sorted everything for us. Our TUI rep (Chandra) noticed I had prickly heat and told barman Fabrice who cut and skinned an Aloe Vera plant for me to apply, for my last two days, it really was above and beyond, thanks Fabrice! They also have the marine centre underneath the Coral restaurant, we spoke to Mustafiq in there on his first day, he was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and spoke to us at length about the fish, coral and mentioned they have blue bags to pick up beach litter, which is a fab idea! Well worth a visit. They have street dogs in the hotel, they're super sweet and chill on the beach, the hotel provide water bowls for them (we kept topping them up), and we were told the hotel feed them too, which is a lovely touch. Overall, a brilliant eco hotel, with amazing food and staff, can't recommend enough. Read less
