Ocean Point Resort & Spa

Antigua, Caribbean

Virgin rating

The hotel

At times you’ll get the impression you’re in the heart of Italy – at others there’s no denying you’re in the Caribbean. Exclusively for adults, Ocean Point Resort & Spa is a kick-off-your-flip flops fusion of the idyllic Med and the exotic Tropics. From its gardens, where bougainvillea grows among palm trees, to its fabulous Sottovento Beach Club, where chefs will use fresh island produce as you dine just steps from the sea. This may be a far cry from home, with its huge beachfront pool and two seductively sandy coves, but the family owners have created a truly homely space, complete with a resident cat and dog, informal yet comfy guest rooms, and day trips for snorkelling and turtle spotting.

Everyone from Emma always making sure you are enjoying the Ocean Point experience to the waiters and waitresses, gardeners and cleaners who do such a fantastic job making this place such a great place to stay. We had such a lovely time and will return again. Would recommend anyone to visit here if you want a lovely relaxing time. Read less

This hotel is a rare thing, it ticks all of the major boxes. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There is no kettle in the room but there is a bean to cup coffee machine in reception and there was one on the first floor, I don't know if there were any more. The food was amazing! There is no kettle in the room but there is a bean to cup coffee machine in reception and there was one on the first floor, I don't know if there were any more. The food was amazing! Lots of choice at breakfast, and for lunch you can dine at the restaurant, in the bar or even on the beach. At dinner it is made clear which items are part of the all inclusive package. The menu was changed daily whilst we were there and everything we had was delicious. All of the restaurant staff were fantastic, but a special mention to Donnekie Murray who was extremely pleasant, efficient and really went out of her way to make sure your meal was perfect. Brian and Konjae in the bar really enhanced the quality of our holiday, they were a total joy. Always smiling, attentive and went the extra mile. I would happily stay here again. Read less

Can’t fault this hotel. The food was great and such a treat for it to be served at your table, normally when visiting other hotels that are buffet only my husband and I end up eating out of sync, then I tend to rush my food and eat lots of things I wouldn’t normally choose! This was brilliant and plenty of choice.

The hotel has two pretty beaches bordered by palm trees, a dining room open to the sea breezes, and an enormous saltwater swimming pool with lots of lounge chairs in sun or shade. Our clean and charming room at the end of the hotel's seaward wing was air-conditioned and included a full breakfast. Lunch and dinner in the hotel's dining area were rather expensive but excellent. There are no stores or other restaurants nearby, although taxis can be arranged. All in all, Ocean Point is an excellent all-in-one getaway for someone seeking a luxe experience in Antigua. Read less
