Sun Siyam Vilu Reef

It was an overall pleasant experience. Pros: 1. Communication with our overnight hotel in Male was clear and didn't require our participation. 2. The flight from Male to Vilu Reef took around 45 minutes and became a super exciting add-on to the whole trip. 3. Our bungalow 134 became our small home for a week. A cozy and beautiful one. 4. Cleaning twice a day - is something new for me, fast and concerning all of our wishes about the towels and drinks. 5. Absolutely spectacular Reef behind the built borders. We've been snorkeling days through and had so many time the chances to swim with Reef sharks, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and a huge manifold of fishes and sea cucumbers. 6. We also booked a snorkeling trip with mantas, and it was amazing. The boat crew was super attentive to everyone, including kids. We've met about 7-9 mantis and got lifelong memories from this trip. 7. Aqua restaurant team is absolutely great. They are all welcoming and attentive to details. We loved having our meal times watching the ocean and being taken care of. Cons: 1. We had an overnight stay in Male at the small hotel, as I wanted to make the trip as much comfortable for my 9 yo son and 68 yo mom as it is just possible. The small hotel was in contact with Vilu Reef about the time the hydroplane's schedule to bring us to the resort. And on 7pm we were informed that Vilu Reef is requiring us to be at the airport at 5am. Considering the fact our bungalow wasn't ready at the time we arrived, it wasn't a comfortable relocation at all. 2. Unfortunately our island host's phone got broken and we weren't in touch throughout the days of our stay. So we weren't informed about any events taking place at the resort. 3. Noone is conducting any instructions about the best snorkeling places, or whom to expect there. A few people we've talked to had no clue there is a big reef behind the built water fences. So we found a great place, but my son was once attacked slightly by the small crazy trigger fish. Luckily, he got a bruise only. 4. There are no promotions of the water sport equipment at all. Many people don't even know how to use them. There is a plenty of stuff at the resort, but people have to see how someone is using it all to get a wish of trying it on their own. I bet the sales will raise. 5. Bungalows are lacking clothing drying stands. There is no place to have your clothes dry. We had only one rope in the open space of the washroom, but sun and heat didn't help much due to high humidity level and rains which sometimes happen :) 6. I guess, the global WhatsApp chat might be very helpful. Informing all guests about the weather changes/conditions, activities, menu changes etc, and an opportunity to communicate for those who need it (i.e. traveling alone), discussing the places for snorkeling, or creatures seen here and there - these are very nice and customer oriented actions. We went Sun Siyam Vilureef on Honeymoon. We have been to many resorts in Maldives but this holiday at Sun Siyam Vilureef is the best so far. What we loved the most was the Nature of the island, one of the best beaches I’ve seen so far. Our room was well cleaned and maintained everyday. Special thanks to our Host Niyaaf for taking good care to us. We had an incredible honeymoon experience. Had one of the best ever vacations of my life. Went with my wife and the resort/rooms were well maintained. Great activities both included in our package and paid. The staff stood out. Amazing hospitality and extermely courteous. Had an incredible stay and the staff even went out of their way to get us whatever we needed. The ride to the location is long but its worth the journey. Great veegetarian options in the buffet as well. We went to maldives and choose sun siyam vilu reef for 5days 4nights and choose this place because it offered Free Transfer via seaplane (if stay more than 4nights). We stayed at Reef Villa(water villa) and no regret, very beautiful room overlooking ocean with no obstruction. We able to swim straight from the room and it is very safe. Minimal reef around the water villa but bunch of fish. At night, we saw sharks/ stingray/blue big fishes. The whole trip was smooth and once arrived at airport, immigration took 20mins, walked out and the resort already arranged for people to wait, manage, weight, tag our baggage, and usher us into the bus, brought us to the seaplane lounge (freshen ourselves/massage/buffet foc/enjoyed scenery at balcony/drinks unlimited) for 1.5hrs before boarding seaplane. Time passed by fast. The seaplane arrangement is smooth and boat awaits us once arrived at sun siyam vilu. The people is vey welcoming, staff wait for us at the deck and brought us at Sunset Bar where they gv us Coconut water. A staff will introduced himself (Soba), and he was the representative for us to liaise with whole time there. We also need to download sun siyam Vilu apps to make it easy for us to arrange any activities. We took bfast only package and since we are non drinkers it did save lots of money. We cook dinner ourselves as well. Wifi good just that you might not be able to access to it at some place, but in room it is quite satisfying. You dont have to buy simcard as there’s wifi at lounge as well. The room was spacious, although we hope we did try the beach villa as well. There’s life jacket/flipflop/beach bag provided in the room as well. So no need to bring it unless u want to. U can just walk around barefoot as well. Everything so peaceful. The breakfast buffet was fulfilling, u can request for fresh juice as well. All halal. (Pork dish will be placed separately and highlighted). Chef did approached us and chitchat w the travellers which made us feel welcomed and acceptable. On our last day they gv us sweet arranged roses table “see you soon”. Cutely done. My husband went to small musolla/mosque for prayer and very happy with clean/comfortable aircon prayer place. Imam rinoos (also HR exec) was friendly and approached him for conversation and opinions which was very pleasant experience for him. He went there as much as he can for prayer. It makes Sun Siyam Vilu Reef top rank for him. The room housekeeping is topnotch although sometimes they might missed out room cleaning but might also due to us not putting the sign correctly. But they always around for us to request anything. Sometimes Soba unreacheable and can be bit non smiley and one housekeeper (Rakesh) makes our stay bearable again. He did chitchat with us, always explaining on what can we do around showing us above and beyond out of his jobscope. He did show/guide my husband the place for prayer although he practice different religion. Very welcoming and always smiling. So, thats makes our stay very much different since we went to various places around the world and very good stay depends on how the staff treats us. He treat us nicely all through our stay. So would say big thanks to him. Rakesh deserve to do more than housekeeping coz he got the talent of treat people right. We did few activities-jetski/paddleboard/rent snorkel/sunset dolphin/play pingpong(foc). All affordable. Missed the snorkelling with whale/manta due to weather/no boat out. But no regret as we enjoyed snorkel end to end around the island. Great for freediver,,clear water, beautiful reef, there’s turtle / sting ray / sharks / beautiful fishes , we snorkels and free dive at Gate 1/2/3, and spent 90% of our time diving and enjoying the sea. Did hang out at the pool and there’s show in the evening as well. The staff always smiling and offer assistance wherever possible. Reef villa got no jacuzzi. But there’s bathtub. I cant swim at night coz it will be totally dark and sometimes u can hear fish splash around as well in the dark. I saw dolphins swam around once from my room. Very excited. Hope there’s bike to rent though so we can just bike around the island. We snorkels and stop by at sunset bar, chill and ordered beverages. Since we didnt took all inclusive any bill will be charge to the room and only paid on last day. The place have no mosquito/ no sand fleas/no bugs / no ants that can annoy the stay. Fogging done but never a distubance. They always keep the place clean. Hope one day they will have island hopping (between sun siyam branch so we can enjoy the other resort as well). The checkout process is smoothly done, even extend us till 2pm since our plane arrived at 3pm. We really happy with the extension time since we enjoyed extra activities in the morning and nicely have enough time to pack. Everything super smooth that i am so happy im able to impress my partner on the trip that i arranged.it wont be this way if im not staying at sun siyam vilu reef. The place is not super pack with kids, all very romantic. We did shoot for our Eid photoshoot (since we went there during 2nd day of Eid) and the place itslef is remarkably beautiful with white sandy beach. Remember to wear sunscreen though❤️as sunrise very early at 5.30/6am. 8am and super hot already. Gate 1/2/3 safe to freedive/snorkels where there’s shallow and deep part of the ocean.enjoy the time under the sea. Everyone chilling around and not bother you. We feel taken care of and at the same free to do anything. I cant comment on the restaurants as we didnt have the chance to try. We do look forward to any promotion for the beach villa w pool in the future. Cant wait to go there again. Read less

We love the resort, the beach, the house of reefs. But unfortunately the scuba diving with whale shark and nurse shark was cancelled. Mr. Rakesh as our house keeping personnel is very good, he’s so helping. I wish that je will get promoted to the higher level or as a hostes. Please assign him to serve us when we go there again. The villa is nice. Proper cleaned by Mr. Rakesh. Just the breakfast at the restaurant, the waitress/waiter didn’t maintain to serve the customer/residence equally. They seems more nice to residence/customer from european/american people. We really hope they continue give best service to customer/residence feom Asia too. We saw the boat engine at the jetty leakage to the seawater with black oil like a “usual” things during out back trip. I think we must not let this happen to the nature again. We must taking care of our mothernature. :) as we all love them so much. Subhanallah Not forgetting Mr. Rinoos from HR. I’ve met him during solah at the staff Musollah/Mosque. He is a good and nice guy. Good PR. Keep him there. Mr. Soba as our hostes also very nice. He is so helping and showing his concern to his guests. Keep him too.
