The hotel

The kind of hotel every modern metropolis needs, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto scores on location, modern comfort, and handy extras like a 24-hour market – perfect when you get back from nights out in Toronto. And, when you wake in the morning, its American-inspired eatery has a 'grab-n-go' counter – ideal if you're eager to get back out into the neighbourhood and explore attractions like Toronto Eaton Centre and buzzing Yonge-Dundas Square, which are both within 1km of this downtown hotel. If you prefer a later start to your day, you could always take a leisurely workout in the expansive fitness centre before 'Breakfast Boards' at The Bistro.

Restaurants and shopping are plenty right on Yonge Street, the longest street in the world. Short walk to many tourist attractions. Rooms: Comfortable, average sized. Coffee maker in the room and also supplied tea. Staff: Very friendly, always smiling, seemed to enjoy their jobs. Noise Levels: Random guests will determine the noise level. The night I spent there, although there were some loud guests, I didn't hear a peep past 10 pm. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely be back. Read less

I'm actually surprised at the number of good reviews. I've been coming and going to Toronto for 10+ years and stayed at a big range of hotels, mostly marriott, including this one 3 or 4 times. Toronto prices are out of control and this hotel is no exception. $400 plus a night for this is way overs (that is an early booked non cancellable rate). I'm lifetime plat elite and the complimentary breakfast here would be the worst I have ever seen at any 2.5 star plus property. 2 years ago it was a pretty good buffet, today it is a dismal cold, uninviting room with basic cold cuts and cereal. Ate here once and then went outside for real food the other mornings. A hotel of this level not having any form of room service is surprising, the rooms are ok but ready for a refresh, supposedly upgraded but looked like all the other rooms to me, the grab bag for elites is poor with the smallest bottle of water imaginable which was never refreshed. The AC wall unit did not work and the AC itself did not cool properly at all. The washbasin is in a weird location and not near the WC or the shower. Overall I would avoid this hotel and will not be back again which is a pity because it is the closest to my office. Read less

From the moment my husband and I arrived at the hotel, we were treated to an exceptional experience from Ashmeet. The staff was attentive and always ready to assist us. From Kevin, Noel, Bri, Allan, Angeli, Waq and KJ, we felt like we were at home and made our first time in Toronto a memorable one for our niece's christening. We were also helped by some exceptional, housekeepers as well, Barbara, Carol, Joan and Ada who cleaned our room. The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to attractions as well as our family members. Overall, our stay exceeded all expectations, and we cannot wait to return. A truly five-star experience! Thank you all for your help. (forgive me if I messed up any names or forgot anyone). Read less

Paid $300 a night and it was a very dated hotel. Not like the pictures online. No counterspace in bathroom. No light in wardrobe. Dark room. Loud city - loud banging heavy doors in the corridors which smoke me up every time. Curtains didn’t close fully - huge gap in the middle. My colleague said the same. This Let loads of light in.
