Marriott on the Falls

Niagara Falls, Niagara

The hotel

If you’re wanting to get the best up-close experience of Niagara Falls, then that’s exactly what the Marriott on the Falls will give you. When we say close-up, this is the nearest place to stay to those three famed Falls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. If you want to get even closer, you’re in the perfect spot to head out on a boat on the waters. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, as the hotel has an observation deck, a restaurant where you can eat and admire the views, and rooms where you can open the curtains each morning to the sight of the spectacular rushing waters.

Very efficient service; when asked for anything, it was promptly brought to the room; clean towel, coffee machine, toiletries, etc. There is no room service; you make your own bed since they will not come into your room during your stay under pandemic times. We stayed 5 days/4 nights in a premier room very spacious with table and 4 chairs, fridge, an alcove with minuscule screened window to hear the roaring falls and breath the misty air. The banquette sofa is uncomfortable and oddly situated. The waiting time for the elevators is ridiculous considering the hotel was not at full capacity. We were given 4 vouchers that included 2 complimentary wine/beer and free WEGO bus passes. If you feel an item is missing, just ask and they will deliver such as; microwave, coffee machine. A big tub separates the bathroom to the main living area with no privacy. it is a personal preference. Hand sanitizer available at elevator lobby but not on each floor elevator. Self parking is next to the hotel premises and is 35$/day. Milestone and Starbucks restaurants were open. We really enjoyed our stay and felt safe. Read less

We stayed for a weekend in September. Some pros: -check-in was easy and fast -the views of the falls were amazing -it was close to lots of restaurants -service people were great Cons: -room was just clean enough (could see some fingerprints, marks in the bathrooms). Not necessarily a game changer but during a pandemic it isn’t ok. -the breakfast that was included was one main as the buffet is not yet open. Breakfast would have cost about $60 without the voucher. Would not have been near to worth it for basic bacon/eggs/toast/home fries. The food was ok and edible but nothing remotely special. -here is the biggest one: elevators. There are 4 elevators. One is an express that goes only to the top 7 floors. Once was out of service so that leaves 2 for most people in a hotel that was pretty much full (we heard someone ask to stay another night on Saturday and they said they were booked up). Because of covid, only 3 people are allowed in an elevator unless staying together. This leads to 2 people being in the elevator almost always. The first time, it wasn’t busy and we waited 10 minutes. Next time, 22 minutes. When we came back from dinner and drinks, there were 18 people waiting. We took the stairs. I don’t mind stairs but full from food and drink it wasn’t fun. We didn’t get the elevator from our floor down at all. Each time we waited up to 10 minutes and then gave up. We ended up talking the stairs every time up and down. I wouldn’t stay here again. There are other hotels in the same area with the same view and equivalent service so it wouldn’t be worth returning because of the issues. Read less

The customer service at the hotel was great. Negative 1. The room was NOT clean, we found garbage in the room (underneath the dresser) 2. The bathroom had pee stains around the toilet 3. The shower handle has pure soap scum (can be removed if cleaned properly) 4. The room we reserved wasn't even the room we got (the view we did get though kind of made up for it) 5. Fingerprints could be seen on our door, mirror in the room and mirror by the elevator. I love Marriott and tend to use there hotels often when travelling, but if they are going to be slacking and cutting corners on cleaning ESPECIALLY during this pandemic I might have to consider going elsewhere. My safety and health come first, and I didn't feel like they were on the same page as far as there customers/guests were concerned. I even overheard another guest at front desk one day complaining about the exact same issues I mentioned above. Read less

This hotel is closer to the falls then the other Marriott hotel and spa. Very clean hotel, the breakfast was awesome (but it is expensive if you don’t have it included with your stay). The milestones was also really great too.

We've booked Marriott for my wife Birthday party. During the check in process there was slight misunderstanding regarding the room type we'd booked. Here I would like to thank shift manager Tamara who acted friendly and professionally to resolve this situation and make our special occasion memorable. Tamara is a real asset to Marriott and you're lucky to have employees like her. The room itself (Presidential suite) was huge and impressive. Hotel went through the renovation and looks really good. View from 20th floor was unforgettable. I would really recommend this hotel. That's the best location in Niagara Falls. Read less
