Marriott on the Falls

Niagara Falls, Niagara

The hotel

If you’re wanting to get the best up-close experience of Niagara Falls, then that’s exactly what the Marriott on the Falls will give you. When we say close-up, this is the nearest place to stay to those three famed Falls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. If you want to get even closer, you’re in the perfect spot to head out on a boat on the waters. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, as the hotel has an observation deck, a restaurant where you can eat and admire the views, and rooms where you can open the curtains each morning to the sight of the spectacular rushing waters.

Don’t confuse Marriott Fallsview with Marriott on the Falls which are side by side. We stayed at “on the falls” the furthest hotel on the strip so had great view of river and both cdn and us falls. We had an overnight on a Monday of the august long weekend. The higher floor 1815 is a bit better view down the River and into the falls. Also the elevators are super busy and View was spectacular and there is a small love seat that can be moved to sit in front of the window. floors had to wait longer. We invited people in the elevator with us and did not follow 3 person elevator rule. Everyone was mask compliant. I liked that the window opened and could hear the thunderous roar of the falls. We definitely took advantage of the destination fee inclusion of a wine tasting at Milestones and had an amazing view on the patio and stayed for purchased wine as well. I don’t think people take advantage of that. The price point for superior room fallsview floors 3-20 are around $220 but add $100 for the extras (destination/resort fees and $35 parking). Also need the Funicular rail pass to get down to falls $7 day pass or $6 return trip. Join Bonvoy! The app is fantastic with checking in and out through the ap, service requests, chat with front desk. The mobile key is also very convenient. Room was clean and quiet. Toiletries were ok. Checkin was 3:00 according to bonvoy ap and we asked for early checkin. We ended up leaving luggage in storage and started our day at the falls anyways. The room was not ready until 430 and checkout is noon. Pool was busy but is limited to 30 people I believe. We had no problem. We recently stayed at a Marriott in Kingston and you had to book pool in advance and you had entire pool. I liked this hotels approach and opened the pool to all. We loved the room and the view and would stay here again. We’ve gone every year for 20 years and have stayed at most of the hotels. This is now our favourite. Read less

Disappointed at our room cleanliness. On arrival, we found a bunch of used towels in our closet and crumbs on one of our benches. Minor staining on sheets as well. We expected more from a Marriot, especially with their reputation and costs. Granted, the view was fantastic. But the trip is already tarnished by the cleanliness and lack of care,… Read more

We expected more from a Marriot, especially with their reputation and costs. Granted, the view was fantastic. But the trip is already tarnished by the cleanliness and lack of care, especially during Covid. Waiting for the extra clean (wiped surfaces and removed towels) ended up slowing our day by an hour. Guest services did apologize but it definitely didn't feel like enough. Again, view great. Stress, also elevated. Update: Just went to shower the kids and old soap suds all over the drain. It just seems like the cleaning lady took a haphazard glance at the area and just left without wiping. Lowering my review even further. Ive been to quite a few Marriots in my life and this is by far my worst experience Read less

We had a wonderful supper at milestones. We felt very welcomed and the service was amazing. Our food was well cooked and tasted delicious. We really appreciated our server Julie, she always kept a beautiful smile and was always ready to help us. Overall she made the experience better and we’ll be sure to come back next time!

We recently stayed at the Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls. Booked through Trip Advisor and paid a little more for a room with a view of the falls. I was quoted a price through Trip Advisor and when we arrived we were informed of further "extra charges". I inquired as to what the $80 dollar property charges and was told that was the charge for 2 bottles of water in our room fridge and a free wine or beer "sample" at the bar. Informed the clerk we don't drink and she said she didn't care. We were also told at checkout the parking was $35 per day. Overall our weekend cost an extra $150 so no deal there. The desk staff were busy at check in and check out and were not willing to address my questions. The beds were terrible, rooms, were only cleaned at check out and not touched during our stay. The elevators were slow, on the average we waited 20 minutes each time. The only nice thing about the weekend was the view of the falls. Very overpriced. Avoid unless you have money to burn. Read less
