Marriott on the Falls

Niagara Falls, Niagara

The hotel

If you’re wanting to get the best up-close experience of Niagara Falls, then that’s exactly what the Marriott on the Falls will give you. When we say close-up, this is the nearest place to stay to those three famed Falls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. If you want to get even closer, you’re in the perfect spot to head out on a boat on the waters. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, as the hotel has an observation deck, a restaurant where you can eat and admire the views, and rooms where you can open the curtains each morning to the sight of the spectacular rushing waters.

Filthy hotel, icy sidewalks and the slowest elevators in the world. Ridiculous parking fees, poorly maintained parking lot. Dealt with a chubby Indian manager, who couldn't resolve my issues and kept saying that his hands are tied and that totally made him incompetent. Terrible experience.

One of the worst Marriott I've stayed at. Hotel was poorly maintained and room was dirty and unhygienic. Restaurant's food was garbage. Both male managers were terrible to deal with and didn't know what they were doing.

No one is picking up the call. They charge 245$ for one night but no service no microwave. No lights. I talked to the manager he behaved rudely. Even he didn’t explain about room service. It is very bad experience

We spent a good 24 hours in our room at the Marriot during the 2nd lockdown of covid. The room was nice and clean. The only thing was the pocket door to the bathroom was not clean (toothpaste, hand marks, other spills and marks on the glass). The bathroom door doesn't have a latch or anywhere to actually close it and no lock so there isn't much privacy there. The quote we were given was $109/ night but the total bill was actually closer to $200 at the end of our stay with all the fee's they don't tell you about ($16 wifi, $35parking, $12 municipal tax). There is still HST on top of that too of course. Nothing was open so we just stayed in our room 1817 and the view was amazing! We had sushi delivered and the driver took an extra 25 mins to find the lobby because there are 2 Marriotts and they aren't familiar with that. Parking Garage is tight - clearance of 6'4ft was barely enough to get the ford expedition down there so we opted for outdoor parking which is still $35 +hst. Overall it was a great time and the view was the best part. Read less

This was our first time at this specific hotel as we usually stay at other Marriott Bonvoy hotels in Niagara because of their proximity to the Casino, We decided to stay here to try out their 2 bedroom bi-level Suite as the Casinos are closed. We usually go to the Niagara regions 6-8 times per year and usually stay in the Bi-Level suite at the Sheraton on the Falls and this one blows it out of the water. From the first time we opened the door we were taken aback. Though there is no balcony like at the Sheraton there is a much more picturesque view. The floor to ceiling windows make this the best view in all of Niagara! Then you ascend the stairs to the second floor and find a giant king bed and a whole other room with two queen beds and the nicest Jacuzzi tub I have seen! We spent the whole time in the downstairs portion of the room enjoying the view of the falls! The room was spotless and well appointed for the COVID-19 Pandemic, the rules the hotel has issued are very helpful and useful (no more then 3 on an elevator etc.) Only complaint is that the Marriott website states you receive disinfectant wipes which we did not. The resort fee is actually worth the money here because you receive a complimentary drink at the lobby bar and its not just a little sample glass, you get a full glass of wine or beer. We enjoyed the room so much we even booked it again on the drive home. Also a huge shoutout goes out to the lady working the free sampling at the lobby bar on Saturday (Nov. 28), as well as Jim in reservations, I have never received such great service from a reservations agent!
