Marriott on the Falls

Niagara Falls, Niagara

The hotel

If you’re wanting to get the best up-close experience of Niagara Falls, then that’s exactly what the Marriott on the Falls will give you. When we say close-up, this is the nearest place to stay to those three famed Falls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. If you want to get even closer, you’re in the perfect spot to head out on a boat on the waters. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to, as the hotel has an observation deck, a restaurant where you can eat and admire the views, and rooms where you can open the curtains each morning to the sight of the spectacular rushing waters.

Make sure to book a room or suite with a view of the falls, because you will not be disappointed. Our room was on the 16th floor and was directly overlooking the Horseshoe Falls with the American Falls in the background. At night when the Falls are illuminated, the view becomes even more spectacular! All of the Marriott health and safety protocols were being adhered to and we even got the pool/hot tub to ourselves one morning. The bathroom was immaculately clean and the shower had amazing water pressure. Parking was reasonably priced for Niagara Falls and the resort fee includes WiFi, local bus passes and a beer or wine tasting! The Starbucks in the lobby was convenient and opened early. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort property for a weekend getaway to the Falls. Read less

The interior design looks quite old. The carpet looks old too. Mattress are too soft and the quit was very heavy. The coffee and tea inside room are low quality. No bath tub but only shower room. No lower tap so we are unable to test the water temperature before showing. It is easy too hot or too cold at the beginning. Water pressure is fine. The breakfast is decently good. Fallsview table available. With hot meal and cook to order omlette. The coffee and tea taste not good. The dinning table looks old and the pepper shaker sticky. The indoor swimming pool water is pretty cold. The jacuzzi was soft power. I would say I can expect more in terms of price of this hotel. Read less

We stayed at the Marriott overnight Sat Nov 6 and it was honestly awful. We are Marriott Bonvoy members, so we typically really enjoy our Marriott stays - but this hotel is not well run. The biggest issue is the lack of Covid safety. The lobby was crawling with people who weren't wearing masks every time we went down. There should have been some kind of security or a person responsible for enforcing this. It was completely out of hand. We went on the elevator with at least 5 people who weren't wearing masks (adults and kids.) Very disappointing. Beyond that, we stayed in room 1402 and there's a loud clanging that happened many times through the night that came from the fan. It sounded exactly like the buzz you would hear in a prison when a door is unlocked. It made for an awful sleep. Friends of ours complained that their bed had a giant bend in the mattress. The pipes in our shower shifted around the way you would expect at a budget motel. The hotel just feels like it hasn't been maintained. As people who typically think Marriott first, this is the kind of experience that has us considering another hotel loyalty program. Read less

We visited in first week of October. It was overcast in Niagara when we arrived, which obviously was not anyone's fault. We booked a Falls view room, and were initially given a room at the 16th floor. We asked if there are any upgrades available and we were offered a suite for $100, which we countered and settled at $75 upgrade fee. Since this is our first time, obviously we would have wanted to see the Niagara Falls from our room, so we asked the front desk and she said "yes absolutely you can see the Falls!". We were then booked a suite at the 31st floor. When we stepped out of the elevator, we were greeted by white mist all around us. We couldn't see anything. Again the weather wasn't anybody's fault, but I really think that we would have been better off at the 16th floor with the weather we had, and we wish the concierge knew that when we inquired before proceeding with the upgrade. The following day though, we had a bit of a clearing before we checked out so that was sort of a good thing. Bottom line, do not get a higher floor if it's not clear and blue skies- although I wonder what the views at 31st floor would be like when it's summer and sunny. The room was large though, and the bathroom had a lot of room with the jacuzzi- we don't usually go on the tubs in hotels we go to but this one was very inviting so we just had to use it. Parking is extra $35 a night, which I think is a median for Niagara Falls. Milestones seem to be a pretty nice place to have brunch/dinner at but we did not try. I'm wondering if we just mistakenly booked a Marriott property as we probably meant to go for the Marriot Fallsview as opposed to the Marriott On The Falls. Read less
