Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels

Barbados, Caribbean

The hotel

There’s no denying Barbados’s Platinum West Coast is a magnet for beach lovers – so it’s rare to find a little sanctuary along its crowd-pulling sands that promises total serenity. Cue Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels. Making its comeback in 2017, this boutique hotel reopened its doors to reveal an intimate adults-only concept and bespoke art, culinary, and cultural experiences, from the complimentary Chef’s Dinner (for guests staying five nights or more) to nightly Sundowner Hour and Treasure Art Crawls around the island’s galleries and museums. Of course this is the Caribbean, so they’ve added a Beach and Pool Ambassador Service for those lazy island days. You can also hop on the free water taxi to sister properties, with more than 15 restaurants and bars, or simply ‘stay in’ to enjoy Treasure Beach’s complimentary breakfasts and the gourmet gastronomy of The Tapestry.

It’s very small, 35 rooms but our 2 rooms were located on the ground floor on either side of the swimming pool and each had a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom & patio. There are flat screen TVs in the bedrooms & sitting rooms. The beds were very comfortable & the rooms clean & well provided. I notice that other reviewers have mentioned the late servicing of rooms - which is true & which needs to be attended to by the management. Breakfast each day was excellent, especially the blueberry pancakes. The coffee is great. The hotel staff were well trained, eager to please, young & friendly. The hotel is located on the southern end of a busy beach & has a very good sea swimming area. Long beach walks can be taken north past Sandy Lane hotel towards Holetown or south to the fish shop at Payne’s Bay. We hope to visit Treasure Beach again soon. Read less

Unfortunately, the cruise was cancelled but this fabulously run hotel managed to extend our stay for a week, I am so glad we did, Treasure Beach is most certainly one of the most beautiful, well kept resorts I have had the pleasure of staying at. All staff attentive and friendly, bending over backwards to make your stay a very pleasant experience. A special shout out to Ian, server and bar tender extraordinaire. His impressive skills at making you feel special and welcome are superb. Lisa the manager also, a warm smile and friendly persona, willing to go above and beyond. I can not in fact, fault any of the staff at this gorgeous boutique hotel. If you are looking for a little bit of paradise with good food and excellent service then look no further. I have every intention of returning. Thank you for a fabulous stay creating a beautiful memory to treasure. Read less

It is relatively small, for adults only and the service is superb. The people looking after us really cared about getting things right. Moreover this is NOT an all inclusive Hotel, although it can be that if you want and the Tapestry Restaurant has one of the most decorated chefs on the Island. We ate there several times but, of course, one of the joys is sampling the eateries adjacent to the Hotel and (via the Reggae Bus) in Holetown. By doing this your are making a broader contribution to the local economy and enjoying a spectacular range of food and attractive venues. Prices vary significantly but what you get everywhere is the warm Bajan welcome. Highly recommended! We shall return. Read less

V. friendly staff and service provided, tasty breakfasts included, clean rooms. We stayed at Treasure Beach to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. Our room was a sea view suite with a pleasant view over the pool towards the beach. We chose this hotel because of its intimate, boutique nature and its location on the beautiful Paynes Bay beach. It didn’t disappoint. We stayed on a half board basis and enjoyed some absolutely delicious food in the Tapestry restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. In fact, everyone we met on the island was so warm and friendly. We did, however, experience the craziness of the sunbed reserving fiasco as mentioned by other guests. This does need addressing. I was also a little disappointed that the hotel didn’t acknowledge my wife’s special birthday despite promises from the front desk. These minor points did not, however, spoil what was an amazing holiday to a truly beautiful part of the world. Read less
