I have traveled extensively in the Caribbean and often refer to the “Caribbean cool” that we often feel from locals and employees. That is, they often seem to not be truly invested in the service industry, and they often present a lackluster attitude. Not so at the Calabash. Every single staff member was invested in insuring that my wife and I truly enjoyed our experience at the hotel. Highly recommended. If you’re visiting Grenada this is the place to stay. Read less

The Garbutt family is on premises on a daily basis and you can feel the difference right away. From the moment we arrived, we experienced warm, personal service starting with Regan and Stevens. The rooms, #31 and #21 were both stylish, with terrific bathrooms and outdoor sitting area. We loved the food at all three restaurants. The Spa was also terrific. Can’t say enough great things about this property. Read less

Knowing we were going to a Relais & Chateau hotel, we were looking forward to luxury and that is exactly what we enjoyed at Calabash. It is a small (30 units) family owned and managed hotel with the family in evidence. I am somewhat disabled. However, the hotel is mainly on the level and it was no problem to me. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The catering is as you would expect from a 5* hotel. However, most important of all the staff are really friendly and obviously happy to work at Calabash. Any help needed is never too much trouble. It is a peaceful hotel and the beach under the shade of the trees is delightful. There is seaweed growing in the sea, which the hotel do try to control. It is not offensive but you may prefer to wear sand shoes. There is occasional aircraft noise, as the hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport. Would we return? Yes ... we certainly hope to do so.
