Just returned from 10 days here. Have to say, it is the most relaxed I have been in a long time. Place is lovely, rooms immaculate, beds brilliant, and the staff are superb. However, like anywhere, it has its' flaws. Food was very good overall, but not outstanding in my opinion. A couple of dishes - the chicken sous vide for example - were just tough. The kitchen also struggled with a largish wedding party who were there for part of the time, and a couple of nights service was extremely slow and food a bit cold. Would I recommend it though. The answer has to be yes, simply for the location, staff and rooms. It is extremely relaxing, and if you're looking for a place to do literally nothing, but be well looked after in lovely surroundings - this is it. Read less

It’s hard to look for words to sum up how much we enjoyed our experiences at Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel. I have been to many hotel properties, but Calabash is hard to top. The impeccable attention to detail, the cleanliness of every corner, Chef Ramces’ food which is Michelin-worthy, I could go on and on, but it is the beautiful people of Calabash and Grenada that completes the package. • Calabash can easily be accessed by: o JetBlue directly to Grenada from New York o American Airlines direct to Grenada from Miami & Charlotte o Delta Airlines had direct access to Grenada from Atlanta, but due to the pandemic, they stopped, but hopefully will soon resume the operation. • Arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by smiling airport staff who will lead you to the immigration section to process entry seamlessly. • Airport pick up is part of the room rate, and a very polite driver will take you to the property in 10 mins. • The rooms are very well appointed with a stocked fridge, surprise amuse bouches, a view of the ocean, plus the sound of chirping birds and tree frogs! • Your choice of how you’d like your breakfast: at the beach club, eating while captivated by the sound of the waves, or any way you want to have it on your own balcony. • Lunch at the beach club – aside from the ones on the menu, there can be a surprise depending on what’s caught in the ocean! • Dinner at Rhodes – very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone who comes to your table is at ease, and you know they are happy with what they do. It makes a lot of difference when you are surrounded by happy people! • Spa, infinity pool, hammock, water sports, snorkeling, and scheduled activities where guests can participate. • Island tour, with a very knowledgeable driver/tour guide, will take you to the whole island, which can be driven in 1.5 hours. Book for at least a 3-4 hours tour to see the entire Grenada and what are its hidden gems (waterfalls, Mona monkeys that have their own migration history, and drivers high fiving each other and shouting “respect”! (That’s so cool. The world needs it very much!) • Abundance of staff. They are like white ninjas doing what they do best 😊. They’re everywhere but not intrusive. We loved them all! • Before check-out, you do not need to worry about the anti-gen test. They come to the hotel to administer it. It was a minor mishap when the result didn’t come into our emails, so a bit of panic set at the immigration, but the front desk lady, Shari immediately fixed it! Many more to say, but ultimately, the warm and genuine welcome is instilled in our minds. Special shoutout to Stevens. Very professional, but definitely funny! Chef Ramces, lovely Hannah, Junior (our tour driver), Danny, our boatman, and the spa ladies Hanna and Cindy. A great family-managed property. RESPECT to all of you😊!!! Read less

Amenities in the apt. were the usual; a small niche had a mini-fridge, nicely stocked with soft drinks and single serve alcoholic choices, mixers, soda choices and some snacks. All-inclusive guests have free use of any of the contents; items used are replaced daily. The bathroom has a double vanity with pretty good lighting, larger dispensers of body wash, shampoo, conditioner rather ineffective hand lotion. If you need a good moisturizer as I do, bring your own. The tub has steep walls and it's hard to get in and harder to get out. There are no grab bars to assist. Prepare yourself for a difficult method to flush the toilet, not a handle to pull down as in most flush toilets. Staff from front desk to housekeeping and waitstaff are friendly and attentive. Be pleasant and conversational with those you encounter and you have some nice interactions. The massage ladies are skilled and prices are reasonable. Meals were excellent, dinner being the featured menu of the day. Flavorful and innovative dishes are on offer daily. The fresh fish is excellent! If you are celebrating a special event, the Calabash does a wonderful job! We were delighted with our 50th anniversary dinner. There are a range of activities from snorkeling to diving to yoga and more; one day I watched the chef filled a 94# recently caught tuna! All in all, a very nice 10 days! Read less

We hired the Hummingbird 5 bedroom villa for 10 days for our family with ages from 6 months to 70+. The villa is perfectly sited, well designed, well furnished & equipped, an excellent private pool, extremely spacious, and ideal for our purpose (although some updating - showers and kitchen - would help maintain expected modern standards). We enjoyed our stay. It seems that the Resort does not own/operate the villas but offers occupants access to the facilities, carries out necessary maintenance, and supplies fill-in staff (eg breakfast chef) if the villa staff have the day off. The villa comes with a breakfast chef and a full-time housekeeper (the superb Patricia who seems to do everything including washing and even babysitting once when our six adults went out in the evening). The Resort and its beach is not large and has friendly helpful high quality service with very good eating options albeit somewhat formal (including on the beach) which gives it a pleasant and maybe slightly old-fashioned ambience which was part of the attractiveness when we booked. The dinner restaurant is very busy probably due to non-residents wanting to visit and sample the excellent food. Villa occupants and presumably resort residents need to book their dinner time ahead in that context! Residents demographics were all ages, very few children, and an average age certainly 45+. A small sailing catamaran, pedaloes and kayaks are available for the asking on the beach although I didn't see them being used. A diving/snorkelling/touring shack with jetty offers various trips and sits on the beach beside the pedaloes. If there were another less formal beach lunching option and if the villa amenities had minor upgrades the villa/resort combination would be absolutely excellent (probably impossible given the size of their beach unless the Resort acquires the adjacent property and that would inevitably change the style & guest demographics & ambience). Conclusion: For those of a discerning nature (!) a very good choice. Read less
