The hotel

This little hamlet of hideaways creeps up the lush hillside from Grand Anse Beach, one of Grenada’s most sought-after shores. Subtle and sophisticated, its 31 luxurious villas and suites are capped with terracotta roofs and dressed in soothing beach chic décor – but each has a pop of ‘seaside sunshine’ in homage to your Caribbean setting (if your stunning sea view isn’t enough). The chic pool follows suit, with wooden furniture in vibrant colours, while the beach brings calm with its rattan love seats, beachside spa treatments and yoga, complimentary non-motorised water sports, and Beach Cabana restaurant, serving barbecue lunches steps from the turquoise waters. Many villas have their own kitchen, but most head to Savvy’s for dinner anyway, where produce from Mount Cinnamon Hotel & Beach Club’s garden and nearby plantations confirm its status as a leading eco-lodge.

Loved our stay here! The place was great all round, having everything we needed. The staff were probably the best we've ever encountered at a hotel. It's pretty rare to be giving the staff hugs as you depart!

We had the most amazing, chilled holiday at the Mount Cinnamon and we are so glad that we picked this relaxed hotel with a super friendly team and the most beautiful beach and gardens, complete with its own hummingbirds! We arrived at night and were greeted by the lovely Garrett and taken to our room, we could see all the twinkling lights at the beach but as it was dark, the view was a nice surprise for the morning. We had a cinnamon suite which was perfect for 2, huge, comfy bed, decent bathroom and a nice sitting area and balcony. It had all the essentials that you need such as hairdryers, ironing boards and UK plugs which was a bonus for us. The balcony was also a nice space to while away the time watching the birds and geckos. The food and drinks at the hotel were a really good standard and reasonable in cost compared to other islands. Breakfast was a mixture of small buffet of fruit, yogurt and pastries plus a choice of hot options, cooked to order. We really liked this concept and we were able to order slightly different variations based on the menu too. The beach bar is a great spot for lunch snacks and afternoon beer and cocktails with a lovely view and good prices. We also did the Friday night BBQ which was fab and also a night at the main restaurant. However, we really enjoyed going out along the beach in the evenings as there are a handful of restaurants and bars along the beach or even more with short taxis. The staff at Mount Cinnamon and also the lady at the dive centre next door gave us some great recommendations. Close by there is also a shopping centre for essentials (BA kindly left my luggage in London for 5 days so a toiletries stop was needed!) and snacks and beers for your room. If you are in one of the Villas and doing a bit of self catering, it has a really good selection of fruit and veg, meat plus other essentials. Finally, I just want to say how friendly and helpful everyone at the Mount Cinnamon was, they really make the holiday and Mount Cinnamon wouldn’t be the same without them. We definitely will come back to Grenada and also Mount Cinnamon! Read less

My husband, 15 year old son and I spent a week at Mt. Cinnamon over Spring Break and we could not have asked for a better vacation. We have been to many spots in the Caribbean but found the island of Grenada and Mount Cinnamon to be our favorite. For several weeks before our trip I was in contact with Garrett who assisted me in coming up with the perfect itinerary for our family. We like to dine and Garrett made great recommendations for wonderful restaurants. He made all the reservations and arranged for our snorkeling trip and island tour. He referred me to an awesome local captain for my husband’s and sons’s fishing trip. Garrett provided me with a copy of our personalized itinerary before we even arrived. He could not have been more helpful! Mount Cinnamon has a natural rustic vibe and we were super relaxed and comfortable there. We had a Hacienda Sweet which had one bedroom, a living room, kitchen, large eat-in balcony with an ocean view and two bathrooms. There was a queen sized pull out couch that my son slept on. Housekeeping made it up for him daily. The king sized bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The bathrooms both had wonderful large showers. It was a great place to go back to after a day of sun! You have to walk down a garden path to get to the beach. I agree that it may be difficult for people with mobility issues but staff are happy to drive guests to and from the beach in their carts. And once you get down to the beach it is so beautiful. Comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas are set up for guests. The sand is soft and the water is stunning. There are several other hotels along the beach and Umbrellas, a good place for food and drinks. (The dive/snorkeling center is on the beach right next to the hotel so it was very convenient.) But the beach is quiet and peaceful. We had lunch and drinks beachside every day at Savvy’s, the hotel restaurant. I found the food pricing reasonable compared to other destinations in the Caribbean. Breakfast was included in the price of the room which is a must have for our family when we book a hotel. We looked forward to breakfast every day at Mount Cinnamon. We loved eating in the open air dining area overlooking the ocean. There was a different fresh juice every day, light fare buffet items, and full hot breakfast menu to choose from. Each night they’d deliver fresh baked cookies. We did not rent a car so we took taxis to dinner each night. There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from on the Island. We went to the Friday night beach bbq at Savvy’s and really enjoyed it. The hotel staff reserved the taxis and they were always waiting there for us. I liked that there was a local supermarket that was a 10-15 minute walk. I had a great complimentary massage from Faith. Spa prices were also reasonable. Grenada is not an island overrun with tourists. There are no Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. The people who visit go for an escape and to enjoy the natural beauty of the island. The people were warm and we felt safe. What set Mount Cinnamon apart from other hotels we have stayed at is the personal care you receive from the staff. I felt like Garrett and his staff really wanted us to enjoy and went out of their way to ensure that was the case. Staff knew your family. Mount Cinnamon is not one of those fancy new hotels that are for better or for worse cropping up on the island seemingly out of place. It felt natural, peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing. It was everything we were looking for in our vacation. Read less

We stayed at Mount Cinnamon for 2 weeks over Easter in a 3 bed villa to celebrate my 60th birthday. I used a great deal of emotional blackmail to persuade our 3 adult (20 something) children to come with us! We all absolutely fell in love with Grenada and its people. We have been lucky enough to visit a number of caribbean islands in the past but this unspoilt, beautiful island definitely captured our hearts. I have never posted a review before but the friendly, helpful, cheerful team at this hotel are outstanding and made my birthday trip very special. Nothing was too much trouble and the customer service was amazing. It is very hard to single people out because everyone made us feel so welcome and "at home"; however a special thanks to Garrett who really went above and beyond, creating a whole schedule of trips, tours and dinner reservations to make my birthday trip truly memorable. Also thanks to Lisa (house-keeping) for keeping our villa spotless despite the best efforts of 5 very untidy people! As I have a heart condition, I made maximum use of the golf cart service to transport me from Villa to Reception to beach and back - Waddell and his colleagues were endlessly cheerful and patient and also supplied aloe vera for sunburn. Nisha and all the team in the bars and restaurants were very accomodating - especially with the constant requests for extra bacon......and extra rum punch. Carlene, Nykia and all on reception, again exceptional customer service. Finally, we all fell in love with Kevin's gorgeous dog, Toffee - another asset to the team! We all hope to return to this beautiful island and to Mount Cinnamon, which we highly recommend to anybody thinking about visiting Grenada. Read less
