Overall, this all adults only resort is one of the best places to visit and stay! This visit was our 2nd visit and 1st visit post pandemic and we really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was only 55% at capacity, which made our visit even better as we did not have to fight for space or seating. ALL of the amenities, to include the spa, were open and the staff, etc. was nice and friendly as usual. At no point did we feel reluctant or apprehensive to be in Jamaica. Most of the guests were masked when in public areas, and at all times during the buffets. The pools, liquor, excursions, restaurants night club, beach, etc. were all clean, safe and fun, with hand sanitizing stations located throughout the resort. All restaurants were clean with ALL staff wearing masks. All drivers and tour guides are also wearing masks. There is a negative covid test requirement before entering Jamaica and another one prior to arriving back to the USA. Safe and comfortable testing is completed on site. I purchased a $300 beachfront private dinner and the food arrived really late, however, the executive sous chef, immediately fixed the problem the next day with a scrumptious lobster dinner. Horatio the general manager, is warm, kind and pleasant and presented a couple of off-site excursions which turned out to be remarkable suggestions. The resort could use some updating and physical modifications to accommodate the physically challenged as the elevator does not go to the beach level, there are no safety mats, there are no electronic doors to access the physically challenged "supposedly" accessible restrooms, etc. There are a lot of stairs which makes it quite difficult to navigate the resort. Unfortunately, during our final night, I slipped and fell in front of a restaurant due to the overwatering of a plant. There was NO caution sign and no mat to protect me and my crutches slipped on the water. I totally bruised and hurt my hand. The on-call nurse attended to my hand, but with no hospital being open at night, I had to depart the resort with a semi-fractured hand. I would have given the resort an excellent, however, NO one has contacted me to see if I am ok or if my hand is broken, fractured, etc. This is quite disappointing as we were planning a revisit next year. We traveled July, 2021 for 5 nights. I was initially attracted to the Couples brand because they are not just "Adults only resorts" they are "Couples only resorts" - So you won't be finding an atmosphere that attracts a bunch of 20-something "adults". We were not disappointed. They also have many included activities and a strict no tipping policy. It’s easy to relax when I know everything is already taken care of. Getting there: We flew on Delta through Atlanta. Our flight landed just before noon on a Sunday. There were no issues collecting our checked bag and getting through customs. We made it to the Couples lounge at about 12:45. In the lounge we were offered the WiFi password, benches to relax and stretch out on, and drink options of Red Stripe, Red Stripe Light, Coke, and Coke Zero. We chatted with the other couples on their way to the resort and prepared for the bus ride. If we had opted for Club MoBay, I’m not sure we could have gotten on a bus to the resort any sooner than we did. At about 1:00 the porters confirmed we had all our bags and directed us to the bus (tip the porters $1-2 per bag). The bus ride was uneventful but our driver pointed out interesting things to see along the way. The bus driver is not a Couples employee, tip them too. We dropped off one couple at Couples Sans Souci then drove another 5-10 minutes to Couples Tower Isle. We were greeted at the lounge, offered a drink, checked in, got our room number, and were escorted up to Superior Ocean room 5402. The Room: The room was not much more than any normal hotel room. As you enter the bathroom is to one side and the closet is to the other. Beyond that the bedroom had a king size bed, small desk, dresser, night stands and the mini bar. They stocked the minibar with soda, juices, beer, sparkling wine, and full bottles of our liquor of choice. The minibar is complimentary. We had a good WiFi connection in our room most of the time although the internet speed was a little lacking. One evening we had no internet. Beyond the bedroom are double doors (with effective black out curtains) that lead to the balcony. In the Superior Ocean rooms in building 5 you can watch the sunset and listen to the waves every evening (at about 6:45). This should not be missed. We even changed our dinner reservations to make sure we were in our room at sunset. We were not far from the road and there were some loud annoying motorcycles on weekends after sundown. The Restaurants: Veggie Bar: The sweet potato chips were fantastic and available all day long. Wraps and paninis were fresh and flavorful. Pool Grill: This is a great place to get some 'normal food'. They are open pretty much anytime the other restaurants are closed. Even though this is the most casual of restaurants, you should expect to be seated and served. Room Service: We pre-ordered breakfast to arrive at 7AM and they knocked on the door at about 6:50. There were no hot breakfast options, but the fresh fruit and other cold breakfast options were great. We also ordered an evening snack that arrived about 30 minutes after we ordered it. Room service is complimentary. Patio Restaurant: This is where you go for a hot breakfast. You can get a mimosa to enjoy with your omelette, french toast, bacon and other great foods. Lunch is also buffet style and tasty. In the evenings you’ll find the entertainment stage here. We could hear it from the Verandah, but never made it a priority to see. The Verandah: You do not need to have reservations for the Verandah, show up and they’ll feed you. This is a really quality sit down meal experience. Bayside: Reservations required, it’s okay if you wear your shorts to this meal. Here you will enjoy asian inspired flavors and a stunning setting while you listen to the ocean. Eight Rivers: Reservations required. Men, this also requires pants and closed toe shoes, so pack accordingly. This is the finest dining experience at the resort. I had a really, really good filet mignon. All restaurants are included at no extra charge. The Bars: The bars don’t open in the morning until after 10. If you like rum cream or Baileys in your coffee in the morning, ask for some to bring with you before you retire to your room at night. They do not serve Captain Morgan rum, but they have many varieties of Appleton Estates rum and other top shelf liquors. They’ll make you anything you want any way you want. The Spa: This is not complimentary, we did not visit the spa. The Water Sports: Taj took us out on a sailboat/hobie cat. We traveled out to sea for about 10 minutes then turned around and traveled back in. We could have also enjoyed sailing lessons, Hydrobikes, Kayaks, and a glass bottom boat tour, but we were too busy sitting in the pool or on the beach. They also offer water skiing which is fun to do on the ocean, you can take skiing lessons if you need. There are snorkeling and SCUBA excursions that are available too. All motorized and non-motorized water sports are complimentary. The Pools: The pools are good. We had no issues finding a seat at either pool and enjoyed playing some dice games on the side of the pool or on one of the pool floats. The Beach: We had no issues finding a spot on the beach either. The beach has some rocks, so walk carefully and/or wear your water shoes. There are some cool floats for relaxing in the ocean. The Island: Visiting the island requires a short 90 second boat ride. Boats moved back and forth between the resort and the island throughout the day and no one seemed to have to wait more than a couple of minutes on either side. There were probably 5-10 couples that seemed to spend as much time as they could on the island. More couples visited once or twice. I don’t think most couples visited the island even once. If you like the island or want nothing to do with it, nobody is going to have an issue with you doing what is right for you. Trading Places: If you are a Romance Rewards member (which first timers should sign up for online before you go) you can spend a day at Couples Sans Souci. We took the bus (complimentary) to CSS at 9:30AM and were told to meet at the lobby at 4:30PM to be brought back. We enjoyed exploring the other resort and meeting new people. I don’t know if it counts as an excursion if you go to another resort, but we loved it and recommend it for a nice change of pace. Going Home: Our flight was scheduled for 4:45PM, the bus left the resort at 11:15AM. We had enough time in the morning to enjoy breakfast and one more good sit on the beach before loading “the sad bus”. We made it to the airport at about 1:15 which left plenty of time to check into our flights, before loading the plane back home. We didn’t use Club MoBay, with no departure Couples Lounge and all the hours we had at the airport it may have been nice to have the food and beverages provided and more comfortable seating than airport benches. Overall: This is a beautiful place with beautiful staff. It’s up to you to decide if your time is maximized by taking advantage of all the inclusions or by spending your hours in the pool, on the beach, or at the island. Overall a great resort and great value. Read less

We've been to Couples Tower Isle (CTI), three times now. We have made some really good friends who try to travel within a 2-3 week period in August. The Island is our special piece of heaven on earth.

We are regular guests at CTI for many years and this was our first stay "Post COVID lockdown" but also during the pandemic. We were last there in February of 2020, just before the shutdown. Now, we are both vaccinated and, given the usual level of attention and customer service at CTI, were expecting some changes but we can honestly say that nothing was a disappointment. Their COVID procedures were excellent, in fact, everything pretty much exceeded our expectations. Sure, some resort services were curtailed (steam rooms and certain spa facilities) and some were changed. Mainly the buffet, which is no longer "grab a plate and go" but now you must queue up to get served. But the changes were primarily for the benefit and safety of the hotel guests and, secondly, the hotel staff. Our thoughts were that given the situation both in the US and in Jamaica, the hotel is working hard within constraints and are almost up to "pre pandemic" service levels. Sure, some guests experienced minor hiccups but, in the main, the management and staff are endeavoring to restore everything as best they can, given the government restrictions and global circumstances. In all areas, we found the staff (even the trainees) were their usual friendly, professional and attentive selves and it was good to see familiar faces in the restaurants, especially Chef Klayon. Special shout outs to Travis and Devon in 8 rivers, Shanice and Donovan in The Verandah plus the two Sabrina's. Aaliyah who manned the dessert section in Patio restaurant was a star and spoiled me with her recommendations. We found the food quality and service was very good at all the restaurants. Fortunately, they do have many of the "old" service staff and most all of the "old" bartenders there (Conway, Kenrick, Cleyandrew and, of course, Terry) plus a couple of very good newbies in Brian and Henry. Fortunately, they still have the excellent Bell Crew there Kirk, Byron and Jermaine plus the Customer Service Team led by Paulette. Chavelle and Nisa helped us with both our birthday celebrations. The housekeeping was top notch. We were in 3312 and our room was kept spotless and towels and accoutrements were refreshed every day. In ending this review, I must say that we were disappointed by the attitude of some guests, who appeared to take umbrage at minor blips and made mountains out of molehills. Given what we are all experiencing on our planet and what a tourist driven country like Jamaica has been through, perhaps they should be a little more empathetic and, perhaps, "roll with it" a little better. As we are eternal optimists, we have already booked our 2020 Christmas and New Years trip to CTI. One Love Read less
