My wife and I chose this place for a short week vacation after our wedding. We chose this place because of the location, reviews, and the desire to have lots of alone time. Being outside of the hurricane belt and going in September we couldn't have asked for better weather. Add to that, being the low season, there were only 28 total guests while we were there. Pros: The staff - can't say enough about how great every single person was. The beaches - white sand and warm water, what more can you ask for? The "excursions" - Spa day, Picnic at Hammock #4 and day trip on the Yannis are all must-dos. We were fortunate enough for a complementary sunset cruise on the Yannis as well which was fantastic and provided a great night out. Water activities - kayaking, snorkeling, stand up paddle boards all at your disposal. Want to kill an hour or so before dinner? Grab the two green floats, a cocktail or two and just relax in the ocean. Peace and relaxation - It really is a beautiful and romantic place where you can be as isolated as you please. I get why people come back over and over again. Cons: Travel time (from NYC) - Though in the Caribbean, it took a full day to get there and back. I get many people stay for weeks at a time, for a short trip not ideal. 3 hour + layovers in Barbados airport really stings. Had we known, we would have looked for something to do in Barbados to kill an hour or 2. Food - Ok, so, while the food we had was very good, there wasn't many times we were blown away. Everything was fresh and tasty, and as far as meals go, my only complaint is that there is not a ton of variation. The staff was super accommodating when we wanted to try this and that. Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day due to all the variety. Also, there wasn't much of anything outside of meals. Small snacks at the bar just before dinner was really it. I know this isn't a typical Caribbean resort, but it would have been great to know we could have gone and gotten something between meals. Even just having fruit and water around the island would have made a difference (i.e. the gym, front desk, pool, in the room, etc.) Entertainment - again, not a typical Caribbean resort, and I greatly appreciated the guitar player/singer at dinner, but if there was something after dinner, we probably would have stayed out for a little longer at night. Seems like everyone just goes to sleep right after dinner. All in all, I'm glad we went. While I don't think we would return I get why people have come back 5-10 times +. If I was looking for a place to be isolated from the world for 2 weeks or more, this is the place! Read less

Fantastic activities but have to say starting from Ed Evans assistant manager to Glen, Col the ever lovely and very considerate Dervon, Kisha, Joe, Anthony and Johnny be good, to all including the ground staff sorry if I have not named you in person, they welcome you with a cocktail refuse to allow you to pickup your napkin let alone your luggage, offer love, respect and support and wave you goodbye I can only say they are a team and a half, the surroundings and hotel are first class but the staff take it to a different level. I will miss you guys and hope to see you again. Graham, Debs and Zak Read less

We have recently returned from an amazing 2 weeks holiday on Palm Island. Where do you start - from arriving to a friendly welcome on the jetty from Katie the manager and some of her wonderful staff with a rum punch . To a great room , no check in till morning- off to rum night - start the day with a mixed buffet / cooked breakfast - all the staff want to know your name and this is how they will greet you throughout your stay - bike ride to check out the island - done nearly every day as so not normal- being by pool - on the beach - staff coming to see if you want drinks ( Keisha - you can set your watch to her regular visits - even just to check if we were ok ) - lunch / dinner varied and always great food and service. Occasional bar b q nights for cocktail and managers welcome. We had a couple of private dinners ( heart and gazebo ) really well looked after by Jamal and Shaquille. . Crab racing funny but for a good cause to help underprivileged families. Low key entertainment with steel band / great guitarist and Bert the all rounder - it’s enough because this is not a party resort . You have the trips to choose from - we popped over for day to union Island for a tour and unbelievably lunch at Sparrows . Scaramouch boat to Tobago Cays ( was the black pearl in Pirates of Caribbean) - Palm Island boat Yannis in for maintenance ( they have the pink lady sailing boat ) . We stayed in a Palm View room which was facing sea (30) and only 2 mins to the sea / pool / bar / restaurant, You have choice of beaches / loungers to suit anywhere or stay at you room sun beds . The must do is Hammock 4 for private picnic/ day you have the section of beach/cove to yourself with swings in sea and even though your are on an island your feel completely alone in paradise - it was so good we done it twice ( Deveron delivered 11am champagne and 1pm lunch on time ) . The Spa has amazing view whilst having whatever treatment you choose. We could go on and on - we are fortunate to have traveled to many places - but this is the only resort that we have been where the staff go above and beyond on a daily basis and make you feel welcome. To many names to name but from gardeners / to office staff a big thank you for and unforgettable 25th Wedding Anniversary - and champagne . Read less

Our second trip to this wonderful island. Up to now it’s our most favourite place that we’ve visited. If you need to relax and unwind this is the place. The food is varied and tasty. And will always miss waking up hearing the waves crashing onto the beach.

Special shout out to Dervon, Olive, Anthony, Kenroy, Jameel, Hulda and the inimitable Katie for making us feel at home and at ease. Great service, great food, superb beach, crystal clear water, a great room on the water. What more can you ask for. The only issue were the mosquitoes and sand fleas - do bring repellent. Read less
