This elegant resort and spa is set in a quiet mountainous area, set high above two river valleys and surrounded by rice fields. The service here at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is exceptional, with gracious staff and guides on hand to make your stay extra special. The spa is something special as well, with double treatment pavilions allowing couples to be together, and riverside treatment rooms located next to the rushing water!

Hotel information

108 suites and villas. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, telephone, safe and hairdryer. Impressive Forest Suites are located in 3-storey buildings and have a balcony facing the Petanu River Valley or the rice terraces of Peliatan. Rooms either have 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (rollaway bed can be arranged in addition to the existing sofa bed for up to 2 additional persons per room).

Heavenly Jacuzzi Villas have a terrace with outdoor Jacuzzi and surrounded by vibrant tropical gardens with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (rollaway bed can be arranged in addition to the existing sofa bed for up to 2 additional persons per room). All villas have en-suite bathroom with bath tub with overhead shower and hand shower, vanity unit, toilet and WiFi access.

Heavenly Pool Villas have a terrace, private plunge pool and outdoor shower, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (rollaway bed can be arranged in addition to the existing sofa bed for up to 2 additional persons per room).

2 restaurants; Mayasari Restaurant (buffet breakfast, à la carte International and classical cuisine), River Café (informal poolside dining alongside the banks of Petanu River). Tree Bar (selection of Indonesian and International cuisine) for lunch and dinner. Complimentary daily afternoon tea (4:00pm-5:00pm).

I stayed at Maya Ubud for the last two nights of my honeymoon trip, seeking relaxation. Unfortunately, the ceiling leaked during a rainy night, and it took the staff three hours to find a suitable room after initially offering downgrades. This impacted my stay negatively, hindering my relaxation before traveling.

Went with my daughter to the spa. Grounds are huge and the spa was lovely. All the staff were welcoming and kind but the actual experience of the 3 hour spa package was disappointing. THE MASSAGE: we both requested deep tissue and were never able to actually get the masseuses to achieve that level. I would rate it only average, certainly not therapeutic. THE FACIAL: really not worth it. Basically a small face massage with soap and then cream followed by a mask in which by the “therapist” uses the time to clean the room rather than other body work. THE BODY SCRUB: very quick and not really a scrub. Just an application of an exfoliating product followed by a brush off. The flower bath: a warm bath with flowers floating on surface. Best part is the location which is perched above river but you need to standup to see it. Over all I would not recommend a package unless you have interest in relaxing location. But with the price being so low compared to other “luxury” hotels it may be worth it for certain occasions. Read less

That was 10/10, everyone was happy to help. The food was stunning, from the pool side cafe for lunch or the main restaurant for dinner, couldn’t fault any meal we had. The butter chicken was very nice! There was lots of choice at breakfast everyday which made it a great start to the day. The Spa at Maya Ubud, is worth a visit, one of the best massages I’ve had and it’s out the way, so you feel relaxed whilst looking out into the jungle. But what made the hotel stand out the most was the aftercare, due to Emirates causing our main bags not arrive at the airport, firstly our driver waited over 3 hours for us to arrive whilst we had a delay at the airport. And when the bags arrived at Maya 6 days after we left, they were always in contact with us via WhatsApp to try and sort out a solution for us to get our bags delivered. Even after we have left, they still had 10/10 service. I would like to thank Ada who really went above and beyond to make sure we received our luggage after we left.
