The staff here is fantastic, and it’s a decent location, but the hotel is overpriced for what it is, even compared to others in Miami Beach. The lobby is very small and uninspiring, the rooftop pool is small and the area has no shade to speak of. It’s maybe worth paying $200 a night, but definitely not $300 or more (plus resort fee), which is what we paid. The facility just isn’t that great. The room itself was fine (king balcony ocean view) and they do have bikes to use and a beach area with chairs and umbrellas (though the hotel itself is not on the beach, just across the street). That’s how they justify a resort fee, despite very clearly not being a resort. Read less

Additionally, in the package of amenities you get the option of renting a bike. We had our bikes but it is a great idea for visiting Ocean Drive. The photos taken will always remind us of the wonderful moments in Miami. Thank you The Piotrowski family Read less

I stayed over New Years weekend - so will give some grace that it was a packed hotel and there was likely staff shortages due to COVID. But the service was ill matched to the steep price paid for a holiday weekend. Price / value alignment was just not there. Check-In was relatively smooth. Though, I was never told that I got a free breakfast with my rate. Only found this out days after leaving, when I called about breakfast charges on my bill that were not mine. There is no clearly defined entryway and we ended up lugging our bags up some stairs near the Starbucks. There is no bellhop or concierge or anyone to help you in the lobby. Essentially - you are on your own! Odd that you only get cleaning every three days and I was never told how to get additional cleaning or how to get additional waters for my room - which are part of the resort charge. My bedroom floor felt so sandy / grainy that I had to wear flip flops my entire time there. The location of the towels inside the shower stall is also odd. I made the mistake of leaving it their before showering - and had a soaking towel to dry myself. The lobby / restaurant area is super cramped. It's unclear why they tried to fit a pool table in such a cramped space. I ordered a coffee one morning ($6) and the lid was ill fitting and so spilled all over my hand and clothes. I was running to an appointment, so couldn't go back to get a new coffee. I went later and spoke to the manager (Roger) about my coffee and the lid. He basically refused my refund and told me that no one ever had such a complaint and that he could only help me if I came in the moment to complain. The rooms are basic for what I paid, even given it was a holiday weekend. The rooms are an obnoxious LED white light. No soft lighting anywhere in the room. The blackout curtains don't go all the way to the top, so light filters in. I had a balcony room which over looked Collins - worst decision ever!! I was on the third floor and could clearly see across the street into the other hotel/ restaurant, so never left my windows/ curtains open. Then the noise coming up!!! I complained about the noise and asked to be moved to a higher room. I was told to keep calling and maybe someone would be checking out when I called. I was also told that no one had ever complained about my room. The noise was so bad from the street - the drag racing at night was out of control - that I actually checked out early. I had to find a place where I could get a sound night of sleep in a dark room. Best thing I had was food delivery from the hotel service that came very promptly. Though stay away from the wings - they are broiled/boiled, not fried (so more soggy than crispy). The fries were super yummy! Read less

Our stay was a "mixed bag" of both good and bad. I had booked the "King Oceanview Suite" with the large balcony, room 512. When we arrived, we were put into a different room without any mention of the room change. When I inquired as to why we were not in the room I had booked, I was told that that room was occupied, but would be available the following evening for the remainder of our stay. We were provided a discount on our first night for our inconvenience. I have to assume the hotel was hoping I would just stay in a room one love below what I had paid for? The following morning I went to the front desk to confirm we were being moved that day and there was some level of uncertainty on the part of the front desk team. After speaking with the manager, it was confirmed we would be moved that day, which we were. There was definitely confusion and I had to keep pushing to ensure we were being moved. The room itself was okay - the balcony only had two uncomfortable plastic chairs. The diagram on the booking website showed two chairs and two chaise loungers. I was disappointed with the the lack of chaise loungers. The lack of daily housekeeping is unfortunate. "Because of COVID" has become a very easy excuse. I requested service one morning for that day and was assured it would happen, it did not happen. You also get two free bottles of water per day, but not one tells you how to get them after day one. Your room is not serviced, so the water in the refrigerators are not replaced. There was a very nice gentleman from the engineering department who helped us with the A\C in our hotel. I also managed to run into him when I couldn't get the ice machine to work and he was quick to assist. I never caught his name, but he had just relocated from the Boston area to Miami. Be careful to read all these reviews and note that most of the positive, five star reviews are about the beach service. That helps the hotel's overall positive rating. Read the actual reviews. You do get two beach chairs with your reservation. The umbrella rental is $20 for the day. Not bad. The hotel is right on Collins Ave, which has gone from a one-way road to a two-way road due to construction on Indian Creek Drive. That makes any room on the front of the hotel very loud. Not the hotel's fault, but be aware of this when you have a room assigned. You cannot beat the location of this hotel, however. Easy walk to Lincoln Road. The Miami Beach Trolley stops right in front of the hotel. Read less

Rooms not clean up to the Marriott Standard. Paper thin walls. I could hear my neighbors every word very clearly and they weren’t talking loudly. Don’t stay on the street side as there are loud cars and motorcycles driving by revving their engines at all hours of the day/night. Balcony rooms have very little privacy so instead of keeping the window open the entire time you have it closed for privacy from the other hotel guests - defeating the purpose of a balcony room.
