Very beautiful lazy river ! Had an amazing time ! Will be back in the future ! Very clean , there is a place by the pool that will give you a tube to go around the lazy river. The bar out by the pool was open around 10am , I would recommend bringing your own food and drinks if possible great staff !

Stayed 2 nights in June. COVID has changed a lot of normals. Check in at 3:00 peak time was understaffed and stood in line a while. Received keys...get to room after long walk...and keys don’t work. Had to go back down and wait in line again to get different room assigned because battery in door doesn’t work. Went to pool bar after and sat at bar top. Had to ask bartender to wipe down and sanitize area in front of us. At the bar, other guests were literally on top of us as they came up for drinks. There was not really any organization on how to approach the bar during this time. Guests really self police the social distancing and then I guess be prepared for an argument if you say something to wrong person. Next day at pool, the chairs are not spread out. They are severely understaffed and pool waiter service took forever. I do know they sent some staff home due to high temperature screenings so they were short handed. Not sure floating on a float on lazy river with hundreds of people is my idea of COVID distancing. Pool is nice, but we kept our distance. Lunch had a 2 hour wait for food at 12:30. Good thing we ordered at the bar at 11:30 and wasn’t a long wait. Again had to ask the bartender to clean the area in front. Food was really good at pool. Later that evening went to Whisky Kitchen for drinks. Was stopped by host saying bar was at capacity. YES, it was , but in my opinion was beyond capacity and looked less crowded than pool bar. After a few minutes I was able to go order and we sat in the lobby lounge. Too bad the lobby bar was not open, but that space seemed to be the most open and safe for social distancing with a huge lobby to sit. I guess understaffed to open. Room we had was nice and this is a nice property. We got a great rate and 2 free drink tickets due to some restaurants closed, but some resorts are waiving resort fees during COVID. Not sure what my $38 per night was for when I didn’t use the pool floats. I would stay here again once fully open and staffed and being able to use the pool comfortably. I was not comfortable in that crowd. The neighboring RITZ was closed so couldn’t use their amenities. I don’t think this property was ready to open or the staff just didn’t pay attention to safety protocols. I would bet some good money there were some positive Covid tests from some of the guests staying over the 2 days we did. We actually felt like we needed to get tested after we left and after several days found we were negative. Really hope things can get back to a somewhat normal soon!! Stay safe!! Read less

My wife and I brought our daughter, her husband and our granddaughter to the JW Marriott and it was the perfect place for a getaway. We were at the pool all day everyday. The service is great, never had to leave! Will be back!

I stayed for 2 nights in June 2020 and while I was a Hilton Diamond member for years, this year I began to switch over to Marriott and achieved the Platinum Elite status (50 stays+). This experience was my first JW Marriott experience, and extremely disappointing due to continued service issues. First: I've been traveling during May and June and nearly every other hotel I have stayed in had very visible precautions. For example, remotes in plastic bags. Signage in rooms or special communications at check-in. None of that here - they do have a few lobby signs but completely aesthetic. There was no security visible and nobody helping to encourage mask wearing and social distancing. If the state came in here I believe they would shut it down - most people were completely ignoring the precautions. The pool was very crowded and was Citro's the breakfast restaurant, and Kitchen (the lobby restaurant/bar). SERVICE: When I arrived I checked in which went fine, but when I got to my room the air ventilation was completely off. The remote control was not wrapped in plastic, The bathroom had a single bar of soap, shampoo and conditioner. The room is very dated (carpeting from 1970s style) Only modern feels were the comfortable bed and the large television. I needed to ask for more soap and attempted to call the operator which is the equivalent of calling the hotel from outside. Then I pressed "At Your Service" and kept getting a recording that all staff were busy. I eventually got to an agent and shared my feedback (she seemed like she could care less) and I asked for more soap. I also asked if I could leave feedback with a supervisor or manager (this was ~6pm on a Saturday) and she told me no managers were available due to a shift change but she would have one call me after 8pm. I had to call down again ~30 mins later to remind them to please bring soap (I got a guy named Dylan who was interrogating me trying to find the request and said "I don't want you to have to end up with extra orders of soap". This time I was told due to COVID they are only putting 1 soap in each room...as if this is a COVID thing. I left for dinner and returned just before 8pm and no call from a Manager. The next day when I returned I found that the pool bar had closed well before dusk (they tell you it's open dawn to dusk) and now I insisted on speaking to a manager. A gentleman named will played the same script as the agent the day before: the managers here are very busy due to COVID-19 and can't take calls at the moment. When I asked how I could give feedback, I was told I should go do it online (by Will). This infuriated me and I demanded to speak to a manager, and Will got a man named Matt on the line. I expressed my repeated frustrations to Matt (having to chase a soap request, finding a room at 79 degrees when I checked in, having my initial request for a manager ignored, etc.) I also told Matt the script that the front desk is repeating about COVID-19 is ridiculous - this is a JW Marriott that is operating improperly and understaffed. They clearly know this and while I had no expectations of a grandiose stay, having hand soap and air conditioning and the ability to speak to a supervisor if needed (at a hotel arguable running 50% capacity) shouldn't be an unreasonable ask. I appreciated that Matt listened but he clearly had no explanation so I felt the call was a waste of time. A loyal platinum member spends time giving you valuable feedback to help the operation, and I am left feeling like I don't matter and I am inconveniencing you from all your COVID duties. Not sure what those were since nobody was enforcing anything here. The $30 self-parking fee / $40 valet fee is incredibly exorbitant. I wouldn't have minded the $38 resort fee if you had the Pool Bar open as you advertised but clearly that service was cut too early. This property is also a bit removed from major areas - takes at least 10-15 mins to get anywhere of consequence and you will need a car for that. This property (the rooms specifically) are in a desperate need of renovation. For what you are charging you clearly should be able to afford it. To be positive, I will say the bed was comfortable, pool area and view was very nice, and I had breakfast in Citros which was very good, but again WAY TOO CROWDED for a limited capacity timeframe. I was initially sat with an empty table next to me thinking it was being kept that way, but minutes in they sat folks and it felt very close. The property is beautiful but very big and it's a haul from the parking lot. Overall I was extremely disappointed in my first JW Marriott stay and wished I had just gone to one of the other properties. I had lowered expectations due to COVID but did not expect the arrogance and condescending attitudes of some of the front desk staff. I will not return here, I will not recommend anyone stay here and I will avoid considering this property for any kind of business or conference needs in the future. At a Courtyard Marriott you can get a room properly cleaned, prepared, with A/C on and without a dismissive attitude from certain front desk staff. Read less

We checked in on June 13 and were supposed to stay for 3 nights. Shortly after arriving we did not feel comfortable to stay. Long story short, we checked out the next morning. While the hotel had posted signs about social distancing and limiting the number of people in elevators, it was a free for all. The hotel told us they were only at 50% capacity. Didn’t feel like it. The pool was over run, pool staff were not distancing and the lazy river was packed to the point even our kids didn’t want to be in it. The hotel was woefully under staffed and very disorganized. We expect more from a JW. If you’re going to be open, have the staff needed for customer support. There was only one restaurant open on the lobby level. It was beyond packed and looking at that scene, it was clear the guests didn’t mind being packed in at tables and the bar. It was an hour wait for food to go so we got food elsewhere and ate in our room. Few positives: our bellhop Matthew was fantastic. The room was also nice with a pretty view of the pool and golf course. Read less
