The Kitchen restaurant is outstanding . Enjoyed two great meals there! Sydney was an excellent server. Beware: a glass of "house wine" is $16. Yikes! In our member package, we received free self-parking and $25 nightly credit for use at hotel restaurants. Also, two free drinks. The lazy river was a great experience as always, with great service provided by Bobby. We drove to the parks (easy 20 minute drive) and paid parking there $25.00. Lots of good restaurants and fast food on the way home if you don't want to pay hotel restaurant prices. One significant complaint: Arrival with bed lights not working, no robes; addressed quickly. Went to Hollywood Studios next day and returned back after 10 hours to uncleaned room. Called front desk and was told that we needed “to request housekeeping for room”. And, that we had been informed at check-in. Not so. Last thing I expected at a JW Mariott. Using COVID as the reason for no housekeeping is crazy ... use disinfectant cleaners and wipes. The manager finally offered a $50 dinner voucher. Would rather have come back to the advertised BONVOY experience. Speak up if you have an issue and the staff will respond. Finally, hats off to Teddy, the bellman, whose joy and spirit made me smile as we left to go home. Read less

Check in was fast and easy. The rooms and resort are gorgeous. All of the staff were great. I love the in house Starbucks. Note: There is no housekeeping because of Covid. I was able to use the Marriott app or stop by the front desk to request anything I needed. The Mobile key worked perfectly for my room, but didn’t work on the pool gate. Overall it was a really great stay and I would stay again. Read less

First self-parking costs $30. The lot is way the Hell and gone from the hotel entrance which makes for a long, sweaty hike up hill to the hotel. Valet parking is $40. This is classed as a convention hotel by Marriott which means no concierge lounge. Why that is so is a secret locked inside the minds at Marriott. The single king room (8023) was… Read more

This is classed as a convention hotel by Marriott which means no concierge lounge. Why that is so is a secret locked inside the minds at Marriott. The single king room (8023) was beautiful, large and airy with two windows that opened an inch or two to allow fresh air. The bath was well appointed but oddly enough while shampoo, shower gel and conditioner were provided body lotion was not. We were allotted 3 bath towels for two people I helped my self to an extra from the maid's cart. The bed was excellent, the carpet was fresh, clean and absent any telltale signs of wear. Primo restaurant offered very good food and drinks. We sat at the bar due to the fact that the concierge had told me that there were no more reservations available and this was at 4:45. The bar ambiance was terrific but the server was average at best. Due to the parking refuse to ever return to this property. Read less

Booked this hotel to celebrate my birthday over labor day weekend with my family. We normally stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, which we love, but we got a "seemingly" good deal on this hotel and it was closer to Universal Studios (which we had tickets for) so we gave it a go. The good: 1. Check in was easy and quick 2. Two free drink cards for pool bar 3. Beautiful hotel lobby and entrance 4. Seem to have a good selection of amenities and activities 5. Starbucks on property The Bad: 1. Valet staff was rude upon arrival once they realized we did not want to use the valet service. 2. Hotel charges an exorbitant amount of $30 per night + tax for self parking, which IMO is absolutely ridiculous since they do not have a covered/attached parking garage and you have to walk a very good ways from the parking lot to the hotel. I have a disabled son so for us this was extremely inconvenient, especially for the price. 3. Hotel has a lazy river but only allows 2 complimentary rafts per room number. Each additional raft is $5 + tax. Ridiculous if you have a bigger family. I started to feel like they nickel and dime guests for everything here. 4. No sushi bar (closed due to COVID), but other restaurants were open?? Didn't make a lot of sense. 5. Dining options seemed convenient, however very pricey (go figure) and service took forever. Over an hour to get food. 6. Absolutely NO SUPERVISION at the pool. At one point there was a rowdy family in the pool allowing their children to do backflips into the lazy river as people were trying to relax and float past. This went on for at least a half an hour or more with not one employee ever noticing or doing anything about it. Several guests were very annoyed. The Ugly: 1. Hotel room size is tiny for what you're spending. Room definitely felt cramped and we only had two adults and one young child. 2. There were items left in the safe that seemed like marijuana oil or CBD oil. Thought that was gross. 3. Upon entering the room we were hit with a very strong smell that just smelled like grandma's perfume. It didn't leave the entire time we were there. Nauseating. 4. The worst was when we pulled out the couch bed to find a terrible quality mattress that had blood stains on it!! This is where my 5 year old was to sleep. I called front desk and they offered to send a roll away bed up (normally an upcharge of $20 per night), so I said fine. We got the roll away and it worked however now the room was even MORE cramped! They also offered to switch our rooms but again at 9:30 at night with a special needs son that was the last thing I wanted to do after being at the park all day. Also there were no extra sheets, pillows or blankets for the couch bed in the room - they had to be requested from the front desk at 9:00 p.m. once I realized they were not there. My family and I travel to Orlando often as we only live a short distance away and we love going to the parks. We have stayed at several different Orlando resorts (Marriotts included). This Marriott was a complete disappointment and I will not be staying here again. I would have been even more disappointed if I had paid the normal rate. My final advice - stay elsewhere. Read less
