My family and I had booked our 5 day stay through expedia. Expedia listed inaccurate pictures of this hotel-- the pictures depicted a clean environment which was the farthest thing from the truth. When my family initially checked in (on 08/07/19), the woman at the front desk was very rude. I had informed her that I was checking in and she replied let me check what I have available. I misunderstood her and thought she was under the impression that I did not have a reservation so I told her I already made a reservation. She snapped back at me in the rudest attitude and told me that she knows. She gave us a map and sent us on our way. Our room was very far from the front desk and was in another building. My family and I had to drag our carriage all the way to the other side of the hotel-- no one offered to help.We went to our FIRST room and were shocked at the condition of the room. The room was old, the carpet smelled filthy and filled the room with an unpleasant odor; the bathroom was dirty; and there was mold all over the floor. Furthermore, the air-condition seemed to blow dirt air. The air condition was faced directly towards the bed so we asked to change rooms because it was hurting my parent's backs. We called the front desk and the same lady answered and said there was nothing she could do. My mom informed her we couldn't stay there and that we weren't comfortable so she said fine and placed us on hold. Eventually she told my mom to come get the new room key. My mom went to the front desk and a kind gentleman was trying to give my mom one room when the rude lady said no not that one and gave us another room. The positioning of the AC was better in the new room but it was just as filthy. I will post pictures below-- the bathroom was stained and there was mold and spiderwebs on the walls. We could not stay in the room for the remainder of our trip due to how disgusted we were. We changed our reservations through expedia and they cancelled our stay for the remainder of the trip. Expedia informed us we didn't need to checkout because they did it for us. My mother called the grand orlando later that day (the second day of our trip) to make sure they checked us out and they did not. What is worse is my mother was on the phone with the hotel for an hour because they kept transferring her to different people because no one had the authorization to check us out. Overall, the service was poor and the room is filthy. If you do choose to stay at this hotel, bring a flashlight because there is no light once it gets dark to get from the beginning of the property to the room. It seemed dangerous in my opinion, I could have fallen in the pool. The only good thing is there is a starbucks in the "resort". Read less

We visited 26th July until 5th August. We hired a car so on arrival drove into the entrance to the car park to find that we needed a key card to enter (or so we thought). We pressed the buzzer and they let us through. Further into our stay we realised that if you drive up to the barrier on the right it lifts straight up- allowing anyone into the car park. We had car parking included in our stay as we booked with Virgin so unsure if you drive through the barrier they end up billing you some way. Who knows. The complex is huge. The lobby is currently being refurbished (although we heard no noise) so this means to get through the complex you have to leave the buildings. This is fine, except the walk is quite long and in the unpredictable Florida weather your either caught in 36 degree heat or a thunder storm! On check in they do advise where to park so you are near to your building which is very helpful! Lugging cases around the complex to find your building would be difficult. Our first room was in building 3 on the third floor. It was two small double beds separated by a fixed unit. We were unhappy about this as a couple who don’t come on holiday to sleep in separate beds. We booked with virgin and it didn’t state anywhere upon booking that a standard room was twin beds. So beware of this if you are booking a standard room. We rang down to the reception (this takes ages every single time- usually on two on the desk and with so many buildings comes lots of guests and quietude) and we asked if there was anyway we could be moved. They put us on hold- 10 mins later we gave up. The next day we went down to reception and they said virgin guests could be offered a free upgrade to a room with a king size bed. We accepted and were moved to a bigger room in building 6 floor 5. The rooms are spacious- however bathrooms are quite snug, the door swings open right up to the toilet- if someone was sitting on it while the door opened, the door wouldn’t get passed their knees. Bed was comfortable and hairdryer etc was good although I have thick hair and need to use a hair dryer for a good 40 minutes. The hairdryers fuse cut off twice every time I used it. Which meant it took me an hour to dry my hair. All rooms have iron and ironing board in the cupboard and also a safe that is easy to use. Our room had an interconnecting door- we have prior experience with these and know that they let in lots of noise from the room next door. So we were expecting some noise. However, after a looooong day at Disney parks we got to bed at 11pm ready for sleep! At 11.30pm our neighbours returned- and let everyone on our floor know. The younger child was obviously having a bath and decided to scream at the top of his voice. This happened for about 15 minutes so we rang to reception asking them to ask our neighbours to be quiet. They responded quickly and someone was up to their room within 5 minutes. The noise stopped immediately- i think the family didn’t realise how paper thin the walls are. We noticed our bed sheets weren’t made correctly and hoped the next day they would be changed and made properly. The next night they were still not made correctly- this continued until the next day. We also noticed the sheets were dirty- this meant they hadn’t been changed for 3 days. I saw a sign in the room saying they changed bed linen every 2 days but if you want them changed more frequently lay the sign on the bed. I placed this on the bed hoping they would be changed. The next evening we came back and I saw they still hadn’t been changed and the sign had just been put on the side table. I had also noticed the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned as dirty water had built up around the bath. I sound really fussy but trust me I’m not. I just assume that the bathroom gets cleaned everyday and the bed and towels are changed. I rang to reception and let them know, they apologised and said they would write on our notes that we were to get a VIP clean the next day. I’m guessing the daily clean doesn’t include bathrooms cleaned- I think this is disgusting. This cleaning then was completed but you shouldn’t have to ask for basic cleaning and bed linen. Unfortunately I don’t think this is an issue with the hotel itself, I think this may be the cleaners individual expectations. We had an average stay, we wouldn’t stay again because of the small issues we had but wouldn’t say to stay away. It was clean enough and pleasant enough if you’re staying on a budget. It’s close to Disney parks and the main roads. It isn’t in walking distance from the main strip though. Read less

We checked in. Our room ceiling was covered in black mold. The carpets were filthy black. The outlets were cracked. Very dirty hotel! We did not stay. Wasted 2 hours dealing with this. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is run down and beat up. AVOID IT IF YOU CAN. It is clear the current owners have no desire to update or fix anything. The batteries in the room safe did not have enough of a charge to close, lock and function; it was not usable. The sink leaked all over the bathroom counter. The shower had rust stained all over it. The room and hallways smelled of mold and mildew. There was mildew in the AC unit. One elevator was broke, and the other was so dirty I was fearful to enter it. The door from the parking lot to the building would not lock. People were constantly slipping advertisements under the door. Non guests and non employees roaming the halls. Guest security was not present, not in the parking lot (that you paid to park in) or in the hotel. Not even cameras to monitor areas. The resort now charges a $13.00 per night fee to park in the lot, which is not listed on the booking nor agreed to when booking. MESSAGE TO MANAGEMENT, this is not a cleaning issue. This is a you needing to spend some money to fix items and replace worn out items. An over worked cleaning staff, and repair guy are not going to fix the issues currently at the hotel. I got the impression the staff is just as beat up as the hotel and has given up trying to talk to management about the customers concerns. TRAVELER STAY AWAY AND AVOID THIS PLACE. Read less
