Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

Disney's Art of Animation Resort pays homage to four Disney and Disney.Pixar films: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Cars. Boasting nearly 2,000 rooms altogether, the sea-inspired Little Mermaid section of the hotel sleeps up to four people. In the other three sections, there are Family Suites easily sleeping up to six people. All are relevantly themed promising a magical experience for young and old alike. They also boast a great range of amenities with fully-equipped kitchens in the suites an added bonus should the midnight munchies strike! Outside are four courtyards, each devoted to one of the films with larger than life characters smiling down at you everywhere you look. King Triton is a definite highlight, towering 35 foot into the air and very impressive indeed. The main swimming pool is a great meeting place with sun terraces and loungers galore. There’s also a pool bar to order snacks and perhaps a cocktail or two. For a more relaxing ambience, head to one of the quieter pools, just as lovely but with less hustle and bustle! A themed food court makes dining fun, serving family favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Room was OK- I get it its Disney and they will pack in as many people as possible. The room was tiny no doubt but 4 of us we managed. I requested the Ursula building on the water side closest to the pool (these are the cheaper rooms) and got EXACTLY what we asked for so I am happy about that. Honestly all in all I would NOT hesitate to stay here again really enjoyed our stay and overall there is plenty to do at the resort! Read less

Good food options for vegetarians, especially for breakfast. The naan breakfast sandwich with saag paneer was awesome, as was the seitan breakfast scramble. I hadn’t been to Walt Disney World in 17 years so trying to navigate all of the different hotels and which to choose was overwhelming, but I’m soo glad we picked to stay at the Art of Animation. The Magical Express from MCO was pain free with AOA being the first drop off which meant within a couple of hours of landing we were checking in at the rest land finding our feet. The smell of the hotel lobby was amazing and still stays with me now. The lobby is so bright and colourful - the cast members were incredibly helpful and were happy to answer all of our questions. We stayed in a Cars themed suite which was a really good size - there was plenty of space for 4 adults with a main bedroom, a Murphy bed and a sofa bed. There were two good sized bathrooms which were really modern and themed very well. The grounds were lovely, so incredibly clean and manicured. There are 3 swimming pools and each were different themes with the Nemo pool being the main one. The main pool had a bar which was open until late so one evenings when we wanted to stay in the resort we would take cards down and play. The Cars pool was definitely a lot less quiet and had some Cozy Cones so you can get into the shade. The food hall, whilst a bit chaotic, offers a brilliant selection of food and drinks. If you aren’t on the dining plan, I would recommend still buying the refillable mug. The buses to the park pick up from AOA every 20 minutes - I think there was only one occasion where we had to wait for the next bus as the first was too busy. The one downfall of the bus is that when coming back from the parks/Disney Village, AOA pick up is the very last so it can feel quite a long walk round to the bus stop. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who really wants to be immersed completely into the Disney movies. Read less

I would love to return someday if finances allow, I would certainly recommend anyone stay at this fabulous resort. And you have a staff member named cynthia and a staff member named matt in landscape of flavours, these two individuals really stood out with their excellent above and beyond customer service. I certainly hope to travel back to the usa and do it all again. Read less

I loved this resort. The theming in the rooms is awesome. Before going I had read that the walk to the Little Mermaid rooms was such a long walk. After arriving we realized that the walk wasn’t as long as a lot of reviews suggested. I would love to stay here again but unfortunately these rooms aren’t usually eligible for discounts which I only found out after I booked the room. I had booked my vacation in June and was hoping to be able to apply a discount when they were released in October so I could add the dining plan to my package while saving a little money. When I called I was told that these rooms are not eligible. I have no problem paying Disney prices because I think that vacation is worth it but I don't understand why that room isn't eligible when the other value resorts usually are eligible and I paid more to stay in that room than if I had stayed at on of the All-Star Resorts so that was disappointing.
