Firstly I will start by saying that this is a value resort, prior to this I have stayed at AKL and you can certainly tell the difference. I think when you stay on Disney, you assume everything will be perfect but this was not the case for us. We stayed in a little mermaid room, basic but we weren’t planning to be in the room very long so fine for what we needed. After the first few nights, it became apparent that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbours are doing, including flushing the toilet at 3am. Parents here seem to let their kids run riot, screaming down past bedrooms at gone midnight and running around whilst people are trying to sleep. Neighbours also seem to have no consideration for others either, slamming doors at 5am etc. I do realise that is not the hotels fault but obviously the type of clientele this hotel attracts. Housekeeping is non existent. We got woken up at 11.30pm by housekeeping doing a ‘check’ because they weren’t able to service our room earlier in the day. I was asleep and they woke me up to do a ‘check’ which consisted of him speaking to me and scanning my door?? Could have waited until the morning. When we then had to ask for our room to be serviced, we came back to a load of sheets dumped on my bed and towels and told to sort ourselves. Complained again and then someone did eventually come to sort it out, all with a miserable attitude. We did get upgraded to a family suite after the first week due to the noise, this was a bit better but again parents letting their kids scream down the corridor at gone 11pm whilst others are trying to sleep is not acceptable. The lifeguards at the cosy cone pool were brilliant, you could tell they really cared about their jobs. I do think that is is open slightly too late, in my opinion it should be 9am - 9pm. Bus service was fine. We had a couple of instances where we waited over an hour for a bus, whilst other hotels had 6 busses come and go in that time. We often used the pop century bus and walked across. The skyliner is a good addition to the resort. All in all, we won’t be returning to this hotel and wouldn’t recommend it either. Read less

The room had one bedroom with a full bathroom and then the outer room that had a pull-down Murphy bed and a fold out couch. This area also had another full bathroom. Overall, it was a decent size. The room also had a fridge, but no microwave. We stayed in the Lion King building and it was near the pool and main building & eating area. One of the great benefits of the hotel is that you have easy access to the Disney skyline (tram), so you can take it to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, without having to ride the bus—a great option!! All in all, this was a great hotel option. It was clean and had easy access to the parks using either the buses or skyline. I’d recommend you try it. We’d definitely come back. Read less

After reading some of the bad reviews on here I really didn’t know what to expect! On arrival to the hotel the place looked fabulous and even better when we got to the check in desk and the girl told us we had been upgraded to a cars room from the little mermaid room we had booked :) The room was lovely and spacious. 3 beds, 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. Room was lovely and clean and the cleaners came every couple of days as we requested to change the towels and empty the bins and change the bedding. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times for breakfast and tea, there isn’t that much choice and the meals was ok. My little boy loved the games room and the finding nemo pool. It was also so easy to get around to all the disney parks, we never waited any longer then 15 minutes for a bus and never had to wait to get on the skyliner apart from when we went to watch the fireworks at epcot there was around a 20 minute wait which was fine. We also went to watch the fireworks at magic kingdom on a Friday night and it was absolutely chocker and I thought there would be a massive wait for a bus back but again we only waited around 20 minutes if that, as soon as one bus was full there was another one waiting. Also getting to universal was so easy, we just booked an uber or lyft and only cost around 20 dollars each way and only waited around 5 mins each time we booked. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely book again. My only advice would be to take plenty of snacks from home like crisps, cereal, biscuits and crackers oh and tea bags! After having 2 holidays to florida cancelled due to the pandemic we were over the moon to finally arrive at the art of animation resort on the 25th April. The beautiful foyer, the fantastic welcome from the reception team really got our holiday off to a wonderful start. we felt that having the option of the skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood studios was also a huge advantage as well as the complimentary bus service to the other parks. We ate quite a bit at Landscape of flavours for convenience after a busy park day and apart from one time we felt the food was good. We also purchased the resort cup that proved invaluable. Surroundings in the resort was wonderful and the theming superb. ONLY NEGATIVE :We were told that the cleaning staff would come in too our room every 2 days, empty the bins, leave fresh towels and replenish the coffee/tea....we had the coffee replenished once in the 10 days! we went 4 days with the bins overflowing and dirty towels, and the bed was changed after 2 days and then not again ,this didn't make sense really as the bed was still clean but heyho. The reception staff kindly sent coffee to our room. I absolutely loved our stay at Art of Animation and would certainly not let the lack of housekeeping put me off returning (i must say the room was imaculate upon arrival). i'm trying to persuade my husband to come with me next time...wish me luck :) Read less

First, I have to explain that I did not book this resort. I booked a standard room at Coronado Springs. When I was getting off the plane at 6:30 pm in Orlando I had a message that I was "magically upgraded" to a family suite at Art of Animation. I am not sure whether there actually were no rooms available at Coronado Springs or if they were trying to free up rooms for groups they were trying book later in the week, maybe I should have pushed and asked...hindsight is 2020...but I felt I had to make a decision, either: a. take the room, which I knew would be superior in size and comfort of the room, itself, but inferior in terms of resort amenities to what I book. or b. Ask guest services to see of there was anything available at another moderate or deluxe. I chose a, for the sake of easing the stress on myself and my family as I knew there was a room lined up for us at Art of Animation so if I just accepted the upgrade I would have my room number in minutes (which I did) and if I went the other route I did not know how long it would take to sort out. Upon arriving to Art of Animation, it became very quickly apparent that I did NOT like the resort, but my son LOVED it. Both sentiments were reconfirmed throughout the trip. The room: It was what I was expecting, as I have researched this resort many times. You cannot beat the space of an Art of Animation Family Suite. 2 full bathrooms. King size bed in bedroom. Full size Murphy bed in dining area. Full size sofa bed in livingroom. Kitchenette. You truly can have 6 people comfortably. With just the three of us I have zero complaints as to how the room configuration accomodated us. I do always prefer to have a bedroom, but due to the cost (which I'll cover later, did not picture ever getting that at Disney. The main pool: My son loved it. Great for kids. Huge. Zero entry. Splash pad. I did not like it. No hottub (which I knew, and is part of the reason I did not book a value). Uncomfortable lounge chairs. Noisy. Crowded. Food: It was what I expected. Fine. We all were able to always find something and it's not expensive relative to Disney. Transportation: Now this was a pleasant surprise. I was very concerned that the skyliner would be a nightmare at peak times. We were up and out by 6:45 on park days so it is possible we beat the crowds but I can say with 2 trips to HS and back, and 2 trips to Epcot and back, one of them right after fireworks, no complaints. No crazy waits or breakdowns. Took buses to Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs, that was fine too. Theming: Great for kids, with the different lands and huge characters and such. Value and conclusion: One reason I am glad this happened is that it confirmed that I never want to stay at a value resort again. I just don't like the lack of amenities. Another reason is I experienced the family suite without paying for it. (Obviously the "upgrade" was complimentary) Which brings me to cost. I had paid $271 for my room at Coronado Springs. The discount was $60 off moderates so Rack rate had been $331. I looked up what Finding Nemo suites ( which was what we had, and are the most expensive due to prime location) for were going for the week we were there: $631. I know th the discount for values was $20 so would have been $611. I do think there is a demographic out there for which this might make financial sense. Like if you really have 6 people, and most of them are children, so you don't want 2 rooms. But there is zero chance I would ever pay that much money to stay at a value, when I could get a studio (or even one bedroom if discounts are good or you rent points) DVC villa for that. But, that's just me. Read less
