Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

This magical waterfront property will take you back to 1930s America with its mix of colonial-style buildings steeped in old-fashioned charm. It’s smack, bang in the middle of the lively BoardWalk with picturesque views of the harbour and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to explore. Kids will adore the swimming pool complex with its 61-metre water slide and white-sand beach, while adults can enjoy a leisurely swim in the quiet pool. It’s particularly fun to stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as the whole area comes alive at night when duelling pianos get to work to the delight of the crowds, and everyone gets into the holiday mood. It’s dead easy to get to Epcot on the water taxi or by foot, and the restaurants of Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts are close by for dining variety.

I found this hotel to be filled with peaks and valleys of service. Checking-in was a marathon event for the couple who traveled with me while my room was ready within an hour of my arrival. Just how many times to you have to slam a door in 10 minutes. Overall, i came away with a better than average experience;however, i felt that the price differential between this and the Contemporary was not worth the compromise. Read less

Then you don't like ice cream. No really, whats not to like about the Boardwalk. I will break it down. Location: Hmm...shall I walk to Epcot, take a boat to Hollywood Studios or the Skyliner....all footsteps away....or shall I grab a croissant in France and then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom......hmm...decisions decisions. Location: Hmm...shall I walk to Epcot, take a boat to Hollywood Studios or the Skyliner....all footsteps away....or shall I grab a croissant in France and then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom......hmm...decisions decisions. Hotel: Great staff! As most Disney staff, the Boardwalk folks go above and beyond to make you feel not only welcome but very special. The hotel is set in the old amusement park Coney Island type theme and Disney pretty much nails it here with unbelievable furniture, paintings, and decor. Although maybe a bit reminiscent of the movie "The Shining" if you let it, the Boardwalk Inn sets itself apart from all of the other Disney resorts with its Boardwalk action and a huge selection of food outlets and night entertainment including carnival games. Jelly Rolls featuring the dueling pianos is not to be missed by adults. There are some similarities in decor to the Beach Club, which is welcome since that is my Favorite resort. On this trip I stayed at 5 different Disney resorts as research for my Travel Company and the Boardwalk was tops for accommodations, ambiance, location, and pools. Pools: Ok..the main pool with the creepy clown waterslide is where all the action is. Although not a warm pool, your kids will definitely make some friends while you enjoy the sunshine and relaxation knowing the eyes of the Disney lifeguards are always vigilant. The quiet pool located in the "cottage area" of the Boardwalk is very quiet and serene. This unique area is like no where else in Disney. Its a beautiful "neighborhood" of cottage like accommodations with beautiful gardens and white picket fences and the quiet pool & hot tub tucked in back. The other quiet pool is only a stones throw from the main pool and is so warm! Both quiet pools were just that...quiet...but no lifeguards. The Boardwalk is immaculately clean and has something for everybody with kids activities constantly all day. A Great Resort! Read less

The 1 bedroom villa was not to our liking. The furniture was uncomfortable. Everything was loud: the HVAC intake, the washer, the dryer, the toilet. It has been like living in an industrial building. The pool closes at 8:00. The restaurants on the boardwalk close by 10pm unless you want burgers and fries or barely edible pizza. The room is configured weird. There's always a door in the way. The bathroom is huge but there isn't room in the living space for a desk. The kitchen has a pathetic refrigerator and there isn't enough light to use the stove. I had to use my phone's light to see to make breakfast. The thermostat doesn't have any temperatures, just cold and warm and a slider between them. Read less

The Boardwalk resort is one of Disney's deluxe hotels and it lives up to the designation in every aspect except for housekeeping. Our stay was for 4 nights, and on 2 occasions we received no housekeeping services by 5 p.m. After our 1 st complaint our room was supplied with fresh towels and beds made at 7 p.m., nothing else. No clean cups, glasses or the replacement of room amenities. After the 2nd occasion of not receiving housekeeping services, Tatiana at the front desk made sure we finally got clean cups, glasses, and room amenities replaced, which also took place after 6 p.m. She went above and beyond to find out why our room wasn't being serviced and remedied the situation. One would think that with the spread of the Coronavirus, housekeeping and cleaning would be a major focus of this hotel to insure the safety of their guests. We still had a fantastic time at the parks. This hotel's location was very convenient, and our room views were outstanding. Read less

Staying at the Boardwalk Villas in Disney World Room is comfortable, well furnished with most creature comforts. Only complaint, the Wi Fi is slower than molasses in January Otherwise acceptable by my standards
