Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

This magical waterfront property will take you back to 1930s America with its mix of colonial-style buildings steeped in old-fashioned charm. It’s smack, bang in the middle of the lively BoardWalk with picturesque views of the harbour and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to explore. Kids will adore the swimming pool complex with its 61-metre water slide and white-sand beach, while adults can enjoy a leisurely swim in the quiet pool. It’s particularly fun to stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as the whole area comes alive at night when duelling pianos get to work to the delight of the crowds, and everyone gets into the holiday mood. It’s dead easy to get to Epcot on the water taxi or by foot, and the restaurants of Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts are close by for dining variety.

I was able to stay at the boardwalk with a friend who works at Disney and got a pretty good deal on the room. The room was clean besides a small spot on the carpet that obviously had something spilled on it and was in need of further cleaning. Workers at the front desk seemed grumpy and didn’t provide the type of customer service I’d expect at any hotel let alone one advertising itself as “deluxe” the resort is enormous and he didn’t go over any amenities or tell us how to get to our room which caused us to get lost trying to find it and waste a ton of time. After a long day in the parks my friends and I returned to the room to get ready to go out. We received a noise complaint around 10:30 and were notified by security so we quickly finished getting ready in the room and headed out to avoid disturbing anyone again. As we were attempting to leave our room security as well as the duty manager of the hotel stopped us again stating that if he got another noise complaint he was going to throw us out and get my friend fired from Disney which seemed super unnecessary as we were already leaving to avoid causing any trouble but respectfully acknowledged his concerns and apologized but he then implied that we didn’t look rich enough for his resort and threatened to kick us out again. I’ve never experienced such disrespect from anyone in the hospitality industry let alone a Disney cast member in a management position! I’m incredibly disappointed in Disney and will be reluctant to ever stay on Disney property again. Read less

Wowie Wow Wow! I told my husband we needed to come to Disney World for Mother's Day weekend, because it was going to be my 1st since my Mom passed away suddenly in January and I didn't want to be home. If you have to suffer your first Motherless Mother's Day, you should try to spend it someplace happy, right? I was still missing her badly but that is neither here nor there, the point of this is this hotel is great! I honestly don't remember what room view I booked, I booked a split stay based on availability with 2 nights here and 2 nights at the Dolphin. We stayed at the Dolphin first, it was meh. When we checked in here I told the woman I was checking in with it was my 1st Motherless Mother's Day and she was from Russia and she was sorta matter of fact and was like, "Yes, that's terrible but that is life". I think I would have normally taken a small amount of offense to this but when I saw her tag said she was from Russia, I've known a LOT of people from Russia and they are just very matter of fact when it comes to things like this. I'm pretty sure she pixie dusted me though, because of the room view we had! It was on the 4th floor next to the club rooms and we could see the Epcot fireworks. Very nice! I think I booked a standard view and I don't think that view was so that was very nice! I loved watching the fireworks from our balcony. The pool! My son's new favorite! I have to say, I liked it too! I love how it is enclosed. We stayed at the Yacht Club in January and I was NOT crazy about my 5 year old needing to leave the pool area and cut across a public walk way to get to the water slide so I like this pool much better. Sure, I find the clown face creepy but the kid likes it. And the pool bar keeps the Mommy juice pumping! The beds are comfortable, the hotel is clean, the location is fantastic. Minor complaints: Needing to leave the hotel and go out on the boardwalk to get something to eat. It was raining and thundering really hard one of the days we were there and the last thing I wanted to do was drag around my cranky kid in the rain to find something to eat. But there are plenty of dining options along the boardwalk so that's good at least, I just wish there was something actually INSIDE of the hotel. The Bellevue Lounge has breakfast foods but I didn't see anything listed for afternoon/evening. We've stayed at Animal Kingdom, Contemporary, French Quarter, Yacht and Dolphin all in the last 2 years and I have to say, Boardwalk is easily our favorite because of the great pool and it's location. I was hesitant to book this before because of the creepy clown in the pool but aside from looking at him, everything else about the pool is awesome. We are coming back to Disney over the summer for my birthday and my son is already asking if I can change our resort to this one and I'm considering it even though this one is more. Sometimes you get what you pay for! Read less

We got accidentally upgraded to the BW after booking Animal Kingdom Lodge and the pool being closed for refurbishment We had our 10 month old with us and to be able to walk to Epcot, walk to Hollywood Studios, walk around the Boardwalk, all in proximity was a dream. No transport needed just a stones throw away. I really recommend this for little ones because of the proximity to everything. Aside from that, the hotel is lovely. Pool is a bit meh. It’s no Polynesian or Yacht club. But the location trumps all other hotels - yes, even Contemporary. Read less

This was our first time staying at the BoardWalk Inn. After originally booking a September trip at Port Orleans French Quarter and having to move it to May, there were fewer resort options. We chose the BoardWalk because of it's proximity to 2 of the 4 parks and because it looked like there was so much to do. We were not disappointed! The BoardWalk is my new favorite Disney resort. Not only do you have a few shops and restaurants to look through, in the evenings there is live entertainment on the BoardWalk. We saw a few magicians and a woman who did tricks with a hoola-hoop--so much fun. We didn't have a quick service restaurant in our hotel, but the bakery has a mug refill station and some good pastries and snacks. We walked over to the Yacht and Beach Club because it was so close and had breakfast over at their quick service restaurant. The best part about the resort it the 5 minuet (or less) walk to Epcot. The walk to Hollywood Studios is a bit longer, but we took the boat--it was great. The bus rides to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom were much shorter than we expected--we were so close to all the parks. We were lucky and the garden view room we got had a view of Spaceship Earth. We could also see some on the Illuminations fireworks--what a bonus! The room was so big--we loved it! The bathroom was great and everything was clean. The closet we had was huge so we could keep our suitcases out of the way during our stay. Every castmember we interacted with was pleasant and super friendly. We will definitely be coming back to the BoardWalk Inn. Read less

Once again, our stay during Christmas holidays was magnificent. despite this time being the busiest, the concierges were wonderful, all our requests were fulfilled, the restaurants on the boardwalk always accommodated our group. It is wonderful to have the windows in the room open to let in fresh air, or to sit on the balcony overlooking beautiful scenery. The property has several pools so there always was an empty pool. The short beautiful walk to epcot and the hollywood studios is one of my favorite perks of this hotel. Read less
