Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

This magical waterfront property will take you back to 1930s America with its mix of colonial-style buildings steeped in old-fashioned charm. It’s smack, bang in the middle of the lively BoardWalk with picturesque views of the harbour and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to explore. Kids will adore the swimming pool complex with its 61-metre water slide and white-sand beach, while adults can enjoy a leisurely swim in the quiet pool. It’s particularly fun to stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as the whole area comes alive at night when duelling pianos get to work to the delight of the crowds, and everyone gets into the holiday mood. It’s dead easy to get to Epcot on the water taxi or by foot, and the restaurants of Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts are close by for dining variety.

We chose to stay here so we could walk to HS early in the morning to get in the que for Rise of the Resistance. This is the closest walkable hotel to HS and even closer to Epcot. We usually stay at the Contemporary, but this year it was sold out so owe decided on The Boardwalk. We have three kids (6, 3, 3). We LOVED the walkability of this resort. We walked to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and loved the Variety of restaurants and shops in the area when we returned each night. Rooms seem smaller and a little more dated than Contemporary, but overall we decided we would stay at Boardwalk again next year for the convenience and charm of the area. As always, Disney and hotel staff were the epitome of customer service. Excellent job by all! Thank you! Read less

The hotel is located between Epcot and Hollywood Studios and fairly easily walkable to both parks. If you’re not interested in walking, you can take the ferry to Epcot or bus to any park or DW resort. There are several restaurants and bars easily accessible to the hotel, and the views are beautiful. We were on the 5th floor overlooking the boardwalk and could see the nightly fireworks show from our deck and one bedroom. If you have a large group, I highly recommend the 3 bedroom suite which is amazingly large and well-appointed. Each bedroom has its own bath and there’s loads of room in the kitchen, dining and living rooms for at least 10 people. They provide pack and plays, high chairs, and a fully appointed kitchen. There are two pools and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Read less

Just spent a weekend with my wife. My only comment is about the hotel’s decision to stop pool service. It may be because it’s the slow season, I’m only guessing. However, this is a resort hotel and its Disney. We expect great service. Part of our plans were to be lazy and relax by the pool. There were plenty of other guests at the pool as… Read more

However, this is a resort hotel and its Disney. We expect great service. Part of our plans were to be lazy and relax by the pool. There were plenty of other guests at the pool as well and it’s really disappointing that there were no staff walking around to take a drink order or to bring food. Its a great location, but had I known I would have picked another great hotel to stay at. Read less

Omg it was so dirty in the common areas: the little bar had smeared tables and dirty glasses and the bartender said ‘sit anywhere, we’ll get it cleaned in a bit’. Ew. Omg it was so dirty in the common areas: the little bar had smeared tables and dirty glasses and the bartender said ‘sit anywhere, we’ll get it cleaned in a bit’. Ew. Rugs and floors were stained - and old stained/ with spills. The stairs between floors were so sticky my feet stuck to the floor. Between the third and fourth floor there is an open galley where the private innkeepers club is - they have a restaurant in there and they leave the double doors open so the odors waft: one night we were treated to garlic tomato smells and the next night garlic shrimp. It was hideously pervasive. We complained to a worker at the front and she said ‘oh that is awful’. They promised to call for room ready as we were early - and they didn’t. So at 5:30 we stood in line again to get checked in. All the front desk staff could say was ‘oh yes, we have it listed you’d like us to contact when ready’. We checked our phone number when we pre-checked at 9:30 and again at 5:30. It was right, but they never utilized it. We have stayed at the vast majority of the properties here over the course of 20 years. This was a standout awful experience at $500 a night. While I’ve got you reading this: why does disney still use so much plastic?! And what’s with soaps made in China? If you can’t support green by using dispensers could you at least support local? If you want that New Jersey super-8 feel for 500$ (add in tax and parking) - this is the place. Read less
