Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

Not only have Disney managed to bring the ambience of the Caribbean to Florida, they've brought the beaches too! This resort is split into five Caribbean islands, each with its own pool and stretch of white sandy beach. Colonial-style buildings and swaying palm trees add to the vibe, as do lush gardens and the distant sound of steel drums. There are bikes for hire, jogging trails, a lively shopping bazaar, food court and table-service dining - making this the perfect all-round family destination.

The bus stops are small and have to stop at 5 locations so if you are not one of the first three sometimes it takes longer. We stayed in Barbados and were able to make every bus with little wait (third stop). The Jamaica and Aruba side had very long lines for buses. The skyliner worked very well and wasn’t a far walk from Barbados. We were upgraded to a 5th sleeper even though we only had 2 people because that’s all they had available (our resort was closed and we were moved during covid- Disney was really great about how they handled it I must say) but that sleeper is tiny. If you are taller than a young teen it’s probably uncomfortable. It just didn’t feel homey and Disney like other resorts for me. I felt very cut off from other people. Read less

My Wife takes me to Disney every year for my birthday in late November. This way we get to see the Christmas lights too. AMAZING. We always stay at Disney and this resort is fab.. My cord belt has 9 Birthday Buttons on it now. I'm 72 and still a kid when I'm on Disney soil. I love the shuttle bus pick up station there just outside our door. What… Read more

We opted for Caribbean Beach because POFQ was not available. We did online check-in and got a room close to the Epcot Skyliner! Bell services held our luggage for us when we arrived early so that we could visit the parks. We did have to haul our luggage to our room when we arrived later in the evening which was not amazing, but understandable during the current climate. The pros: SKYLINER! Skyliner transportation is amazing! Lines get long but they are always moving. The large pool is awesome! Our family had a blast there. The beds are also awesome. I was happy about this considering most hotel beds just aren't like home. The cons: Our bathroom had an intermittent sulfuric smell which they attempted to cover up with HEAVY scent. The scent was initially a welcomed gesture. However, once we got a whiff of the sulfur, we suddenly knew why the scent was so strong. Additionally, this resort is HUGE! We didn't mind as we are used to walking the theme parks. But be warned! The food options at this hotel are also lacking. I tried a few of the Caribbean options and they were not good. Ultimately, we ended up with chicken tenders for most of our stay. Lastly, the bus driver from MK to the hotel was RUDE!!! I understand they are under a lot of pressure but he was not a typical Disney spirited guy. Final thoughts: I will stay at CB again if the deal is right, but I really hope POFQ opens back up soon! I did get a nice corner room close to the Port Royale however I felt the rooms were very outdated and very dark. Bathroom was so small could barely turnaround. The biggest disappointment was the food court and lack of selection of food. For what was being paid for the meals they should have been a lot better. I had some meals that couldn’t eat and thrown away. Called for an ironing board on the first day there and we never did get it. Requested housekeeping to come in every other day but they didn’t. Had to call for clean towels often. Although we had a nice trip I feel for what you pay to stay on Disney and the amount of perks that have been taken away it just wasn’t worth the cost of it. I will not stay at Caribbean Beach again. Hopefully more moderate resorts will reopen soon. Read less

My fiance and I took an adult Disney trip and we fully enjoyed Disney's Caribbean Resort. We stayed in the Jamaican section so we could be close to the great skylift and we must say the accommodations were great. We're taking into account the size of the property to but this size adds to it's relaxing feel. There were no huge crowds to wade through and therefore not much noise around. Each section had it's own pool so that leads to everyone being able to find relaxation. The skylift opened the opportunity for a great couples getaway within a getaway, with it's smooth glide and being closed off for others for a bit. Our room was good as well. We had a corner room which had two windows. This gave us good lighting and a small table for us to have a quiet dinner after running crazy at the Parks. Caribbean Beach Resort is a good bet if you're looking to match relaxation with your money. Read less
