Disney's Pop Century Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

A sure family favourite, Disney's Pop Century celebrates fads of the 1950s through to the 90s. There's something for everyone here - you'll love the themed pools, complete with water jets, and you can dine in a relaxed fashion at the food court. When the night rolls around, enjoy movies under the stars, or head to the games arcade for an evening of laughs before heading to your room. And when you're ready to hit the parks, hop on the Skyliner, a new gondola that gives you amazing birds-eye views while taking you to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Our stay at the Pop Century wasn't bad. Nicely renovated & comfortable beads. Yes, the rooms are small but well equipped and met our needs. My only complaint, like so many others have mentioned, are the thin walls. I'm a light sleeper so this bothered me. My only complaint, like so many others have mentioned, are the thin walls. I'm a light sleeper so this bothered me. We priced a moderate resort but the price difference was 1600.00 and I could not justify paying that amount. The food was just okay, cafeteria style food. The newly Skyliner is a plus & it's right at the resort! It's makes getting to the park easier and fun. Read less

The Pop Century is considerably cheaper than most Disney resorts, but it’s still pretty nice. And you don’t go to Disney just to stay in an upscale hotel. The décor is fun, with the various decades depicted on the buildings, and the main lobby has a bunch of display cases showing various “artifacts” that are also fun to peruse. The rooms are small, but clean and well-appointed. Beds are comfortable. The shower is really good, and the TV is much better than you see in a lot of hotels. Housekeeping does not clean regularly, but they came by a couple times to empty our garbage and gave us plenty of towels and other supplies, so no big deal. People have complained that the walls are thin so they could hear everything in the room next door, but we never had that problem. Maybe there wasn’t anyone in the rooms next door to us. The resort doesn’t have any actual restaurants or bars, other than the pool bar. But the cafeteria/food court area has plenty of options, especially for breakfast. There’s also a good-sized gift shop and a big arcade. The pools are big too. It’s about a 15-minute bus ride to the Magic Kingdom, and the Skyliner is convenient to get to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. This was perfect for us, since Galaxy’s Edge was our #1 priority. The Skyliner is fun to ride too. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, for the most part. One suggestion though: each front desk station has a microphone/intercom thing, but the staff rarely used them. They really need to use those more often. If you have an issue or question and you’re trying to work it out with the front desk, and you’re in a crowded lobby and you’re both wearing masks and talking through a sheet of Plexiglas, it’s much more difficult to get it resolved when you can barely hear each other. Overall, this place is pretty solid. I would stay here again. Read less

Wow where to begin? I have stayed at Pop in past with better service The front desk cast member were kind. But the restaurant staff needs work. It seem the fountain pop machine did not work the ice machine was always empty. As drinker of Diet Coke or Coke Zero it seem every time I trying to fill my cup the dispenser didn’t work the pop was flat or had to much syrup in. Sometime it was impossible to get to the dispensers to fill your cup because a cast member was in your way. Say excuses me three or four time get to be redundant even if your wearing a mask. I found returning from a park after hours needs improvement to my I and wife to advantage of the long hours thinking when we return we could refill our cups at the outside dispenser wrong it was wrapped in plastic wrap and turned off Lucky us pay 4 or 5 bucks out of pop machine for water or soda. One thing I never saw was straws why not? Is this item that greatly appreciated it should be or needed to be hoarded? With the late hours of park or any hour for that matter the only option to Epcot or Hollywood is the Skyliner. Guest should be given a choose of a bus or skyliner. If one gets motion sick has a fear of highs or fear of tight places not good what do they then walk??? Pop needs to do something better with smokers I dont how I much I enjoyed walking to Skyliner and having to smell second hand smoke put them out where it does not involve to much foot traffic. Our go to a no smoking policy no laundry bags in the room why? Next time I will bring why own Read less

We stayed for 3 nights back in June. Room was clean. However, the rooms are very small. We are a family of four and it was TIGHT. Almost felt like a slightly bigger cruise ship room. The property is large so be prepared to walk. The food was okay. Nothing was outstanding to eat on property. Pools are very nice, but very basic. For the price we… Read more
