Disney's Pop Century Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

A fantastic family favourite, there is plenty to delight every member of the clan at this lively resort. The memorabilia, crazes and catchphrases that defined the 20th Century are everywhere you look - from jukeboxes, bowling pins and 8-track tapes to laptops, mobile phones and VCRs. The giant Rubik's Cube® is something to look out for, as well as huge models of Disney characters from the different eras. Baloo and Mowgli from The Jungle Book (in the 1960s section) are our favourites. Each building is a larger than life 'time capsule' of POP culture, featuring slogans encouraging you to 'boogie on down' or 'have a nice day' - not exactly hard to do! In the food hall, the kids can enjoy their favourite food, whilst mum and dad will appreciate a cocktail at the pool bar. When you're not exploring the theme parks using the complimentary Disney Transport, head to the 60s-themed Hippy Dippy feature pool and let the kids splash for hours in the pop-jet water fountain. To ensure you don't waste a minute of your holiday, bags can be dropped off at reception even before your accommodation is ready. They will be delivered to your room later, leaving you and the kids with nothing to do but start having fun straight away!

Disney transport buses available but also now the gondola service is available from here! The food in the food court is great and the Disney shop is massive! Our room was absolutely lovely and if you want to be near to reception/bus stops then request to be in the 90’s building as it is just across the car park :) I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it costs a little extra to stay in a Disney hotel but for the Disney experience, plus the included transportation to the parks, you get your money back tenfold. Honestly can’t recommend this enough. My parents stayed in Art of Animation which is a little more expensive and said they preferred our hotel! Read less

I love to stay on site, but Pop Century is not my favorite. Least favorite actually out of Art of Anim, Caribbean and Port Orleans. Style seems below Disney standards, even for a value resort. I love to stay on site, but Pop Century is not my favorite. Least favorite actually out of Art of Anim, Caribbean and Port Orleans. Style seems below Disney standards, even for a value resort. I like the giant statues but the cutouts of giant shadow people, random words and shoes/flowers on the buildings are tacky. I get what they are going for, but it’s just mish-moshy. And speaking of those giant shadow people, they decided to pressure wash them fairly early in the morning while we were attempting to enjoy the pool. The machine was so loud and the motor on the ground really stinky. Even my 12 year old gave up and returned to the room. I get that maintenance is necessary and they were apologetic, but come on. It needs to be planned better. You’re paying a lot to stay here, it should be peaceful. Also, they just reopened after a several months long closure, the grounds should have been ready to receive guests. It went on multiple mornings. Disappointing. The pools are pretty small and shallow and there are at least four tyrannical guards at each. I get what they are trying to do, but it’s a little disconcerting to be watched so intently when you're just trying to basically stand there in the water. I much prefer the unguarded quiet pools of the Caribbean. The rooms are small for groups of 4. One of the beds coverts from a table but if you’re like us you are going to leave it down so they can fall into bed whenever. This makes it hard to move around. I have hit my leg on that bed every.single.time I walk by. The bathroom is nice, good use of space and storage. We are in building 60 and the Skyliner is right outside our door which is great. I will say that although the line moves quickly, it gets very backed up in the morning at park opening. We are here during reduced covid crowds. I can’t imagine what it must be like during a typical, busy summer. Bottom line, if transportation to the parks is super important to you, maybe consider Pop. (There are fewer and fewer benefits offered to Disney hotel guests these days) Otherwise save yourself a boat load of money and stay off site. There are plenty of cutesy hotels to stay at in Orlando for around $50 a night (that also don’t charge you a ridiculous parking fee). Read less

I love Pop Centry as a quick clean stay. The rooms are basic but good and clean. The hotel offers several themed pools that are fun. My favorite part of the hotel is the different time period themes. There is shuttle service to all the parks which is a major benefit in Disney. I highly recommend this hotel for a fast stay.
