Disney's Pop Century Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

A fantastic family favourite, there is plenty to delight every member of the clan at this lively resort. The memorabilia, crazes and catchphrases that defined the 20th Century are everywhere you look - from jukeboxes, bowling pins and 8-track tapes to laptops, mobile phones and VCRs. The giant Rubik's Cube® is something to look out for, as well as huge models of Disney characters from the different eras. Baloo and Mowgli from The Jungle Book (in the 1960s section) are our favourites. Each building is a larger than life 'time capsule' of POP culture, featuring slogans encouraging you to 'boogie on down' or 'have a nice day' - not exactly hard to do! In the food hall, the kids can enjoy their favourite food, whilst mum and dad will appreciate a cocktail at the pool bar. When you're not exploring the theme parks using the complimentary Disney Transport, head to the 60s-themed Hippy Dippy feature pool and let the kids splash for hours in the pop-jet water fountain. To ensure you don't waste a minute of your holiday, bags can be dropped off at reception even before your accommodation is ready. They will be delivered to your room later, leaving you and the kids with nothing to do but start having fun straight away!

This was our second stay at Pop Century. I booked adjoining rooms for my family. Check in and check out were both quick and the employees were professional and helpful. Our rooms were clean and comfortable but had some minor issues. One room only had a shower instead of a shower/tub combo. We thought it was strange that the rooms were not identical. One room had a broken remote and when we called to report it, an employee immediately brought batteries to the room. We never bothered to call back to tell that the batteries did not fix the remote. We opted for a gift card for $10 for each night that we stayed to forgo mousekeeping for one room, and the other room was to be cleaned daily. Twice during our week, mousekeeping skipped the room that was to be cleaned daily. We didn’t complain (too tired after great days at the parks). When we requested more towels and blankets, they were sent to the room within minutes. The Skyliner makes it so convenient and quick to get to Epcot and Hollywood parks. The bus service was average to magic and animal kingdom. The food court was edible, but sometimes hectic. The pool closed at 8pm and most of the parks closed at 8pm. It was a very warm week so we were disappointed that we couldn’t take an evening dip after coming in from park close. Our rooms were quiet and the beds and linens were satisfactory. Pop Century has more of a moderate hotel feeling than a value resort like the All Stars. We wouldn’t hesitate to book at Pop Century Resort again. Read less

My two girlfriends and I had two nights to spare after our cruise and decided to stay at the Pop Century because it had a little more square footage than the Art of ... resorts. The Pop Century was recently renovated and I particularly liked the mock hardwood flooring. The Murphy bed was a nice feature, but watch your shins on the wood around the base of the bed (it is literally the table top when the bed is folded up)! It juts our just enough to be a pain to walk around! I particularly liked the food options here, as well as the larger gift shop. Since we were going to Hollywood Studios, we ended up driving to get there early to get on Rise of the Resistance (yes, we made it on there!). However, because we had to get there so early, we decided to take the Skyliner back to the resort to drop off our droids, and it was SO convenient! Plus it was a lot of fun! It is so much faster than the buses!! All in all, I enjoyed my stay immensely! Read less

Pop is one of Disney’s Value resorts and we booked a weekend here to try something new. The room was clean but very small. The access to the Skyliner was great and we used it every day. If you are looking for a cheap way to stay on Disney properties this could be for you. All in all it was an average hotel. I love Disney but will probably stick to moderates and deluxe hotels going forward. Read less

My family stayed at Pop Century this week and all was well until my daughter got sick on Wednesday and missed our day at Animal Kingdom. Let me tell you though, if you must be sick on vacation, Disney and Pop Century is the place to be. I called for advise on where to find a doctor and was connected immediately, I asked for extra towels and was brought them quickly, I asked to have an extra scrub down of the room and was accommodated. I also asked if someone could deliver Power Aide outside of room service hours and they did that too, on the house! When my dad went to find a thermometer to purchase he was also given a Tinkerbell pin to give to the sick little girl. We received a personal visit and call to follow up and make sure we were ok and didn't need anything else by hotel staff. Thank you Pop Century for the hospitality! We would return for sure! Loved the renovated room. Haven't stayed here in many years and was nicely surprised. My only complaint was the bed. Blankets and pillows were wonderful but bed was like a rock. I would say forget the Samsung tv and invest it in a better quality mattress. Otherwise would recommend!
