Disney's Pop Century Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

A sure family favourite, Disney's Pop Century celebrates fads of the 1950s through to the 90s. There's something for everyone here - you'll love the themed pools, complete with water jets, and you can dine in a relaxed fashion at the food court. When the night rolls around, enjoy movies under the stars, or head to the games arcade for an evening of laughs before heading to your room. And when you're ready to hit the parks, hop on the Skyliner, a new gondola that gives you amazing birds-eye views while taking you to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Stayed a single night and was happy with how clean it was. Ate at the food court twice and the food was good basic food. Cute pool area and the hotel is on the skyway line, which I did not use but looked fun. Would definitely stay again if staying in a value resort.

This was our first time staying in a value hotel on Disney property and we were a bit nervous about what to expect. We had an early morning flight and were picked up by Magical Express transportation and delivered to the hotel where we dropped off our luggage and hit the Skyliner and arrived at EPCOT just before opening - awesome start to our trip! Skyliner transportation is fabulous and the lines move quickly, would love to see this expanded. Our luggage was delivered to our (preferred) room while we were in the park. Our room was not huge but was amazingly well laid out and functional. This was one of our favorite hotel rooms and we will definitely be back! We were on a higher floor away from elevators, which at times was inconvenient, but it also meant that things were pretty quiet. There aren’t a lot of fancy extras here, but the resort has everything we would actually use to have a great long weekend getaway. The pools were large and clean but no slides. The cafeteria was the same and we had a great breakfast for a reasonable price, but no other restaurant options on the grounds. It was fun to walk the grounds and admire the decorations in the different decades. One of my favorite things about this hotel is that there are queues for the buses. I hate the free for all getting onto bus transportation entails at other resorts, so this was great! Our only negative experiences occurred while we were leaving. The line to retrieve luggage was super long and slow moving. We allowed 25 minutes before our Magical Express departure for the airport, but it took longer. Not a big issue since our bus never showed up. Ourselves and others who were waiting tried calling Disney Transportation and asking for assistance from the front desk but we were unable to get through or get any answers. The bus finally arrived over an hour late with no explanation. (It was not the previous bus - that one arrived while we were waiting in line for our luggage and we were told ours was on the way). It was a mad scramble through the airport to get to our flights, but we did make it, just very aggravated with the lack of Disney service at the end of an otherwise great getaway. Read less

This is better than a roadside motel but make no mistake this is a motel not a hotel. The room was nice for the level of service and recently renovated. There is a motion activated bathroom fan which kept the room free of smells and mold/mildew. This is the only Florida hotel I've been in where there was literally ZERO mold staining in the bathroom area. Not sure if that was due to the newness of the renovation, the fan or thorough Covid cleaning procedures. The faux wood floor is nice but tough on tired feet. Have a pair of crocs to walk around the room at the end of the day. We put a clean towel on the floor between the beds to act as a throw rug to wipe the floor dust from our feet before getting into bed. The price is a value if the Magic Express is included (free ride to/from airport) and then you don't have to waste your money on rentals and parking fees. This service is going away soon. The SkyLiner is the best new thing on resort property and super efficient. House keeping is every other day but our garbage was gone daily. A room manager (I suspect security) shows up daily to do a room inspection. Not sure if they are trying to make sure housekeeping is doing their jobs, looking for low class vacationers who trash rooms and steal towels or trying to spot and stop potential terrorist incidents - or all of the above. The pools are nice enough to keep cool but can get full and loud at the end of the day. The artifacts in the lobby are a trip and the music played at the pool let me relive my childhood. If you want to be on property for the lowest possible price and use the Magical Express and Skyliner/buses - this is a great option. If you care about mid-range amenities such as pool grottos with slides and jacuzzis, room service, spas/exercise rooms and wait service dining, you can pay the same price off property - but you'd need your own transportation to the parks. I tried to keep in mind that this is one of Disney's value resorts, meaning that it is very family oriented. I tried to keep in mind that this is one of Disney's value resorts, meaning that it is very family oriented. Kids and families are super loud until almost the middle of the night either in the rooms close by, in the walkways and out in the courtyards. The rooms have been recently remodeled and are nice. I stayed in a standard room that had a pull out bed and a queen bed. The bathroom had a shower/tub and enough counter space on the sink. The food court had basic foods like burgers and pizza during lunch/dinner and it was ok. Doing mobile order made things easier. The shuttle services to the parks did take some time and in order to go to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, you had to take the Skyliner on the backside of the resort. Staff overall have been super friendly. The theming to the hotel is also really fun and creative. During check out and when I had my bags in storage, it was a bit chaotic and the line was long and took awhile. I was worried I was going to miss my time for the Magical Express to head to the airport. Fortunately a manager came over and made those with the bus time go to the front and get there bags. In May, with the new pandemic protocols, cleaning services for the room was every other day, if you talk to the front desk they can alway arrange more/less services. This was my first time staying at a value resort on Disney property and it is something I will keep in mind for the future. In May, with the new pandemic protocols Read less

Room was very clean. Not large but nice. Good tv. Fair layout. Good mattress. Hotel was very clean. Pool was good size. No hot tub. Nice looking resort with sculptures and color. Lobby is large. Breakfast was fast, good and a fair price for Disney. Longish walk to lobby/store. This hotel is big. Would stay here again.
