Disney's Pop Century Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

A fantastic family favourite, there is plenty to delight every member of the clan at this lively resort. The memorabilia, crazes and catchphrases that defined the 20th Century are everywhere you look - from jukeboxes, bowling pins and 8-track tapes to laptops, mobile phones and VCRs. The giant Rubik's Cube® is something to look out for, as well as huge models of Disney characters from the different eras. Baloo and Mowgli from The Jungle Book (in the 1960s section) are our favourites. Each building is a larger than life 'time capsule' of POP culture, featuring slogans encouraging you to 'boogie on down' or 'have a nice day' - not exactly hard to do! In the food hall, the kids can enjoy their favourite food, whilst mum and dad will appreciate a cocktail at the pool bar. When you're not exploring the theme parks using the complimentary Disney Transport, head to the 60s-themed Hippy Dippy feature pool and let the kids splash for hours in the pop-jet water fountain. To ensure you don't waste a minute of your holiday, bags can be dropped off at reception even before your accommodation is ready. They will be delivered to your room later, leaving you and the kids with nothing to do but start having fun straight away!

I have always had a love/hate thing going with Pop. The decor is so fun, and the cast members are so so nice and pleasant, and Goofy was there one afternoon, and the pool and pool bar are open late, and the rooms are still nice from the refurb, and the Skyliner is fantastic, and I only paid $100 on Hot Wire. But the walls are so thin. You hear everything, I mean everything that goes on in the rooms beside you. You know what they had for dinner, you know what they are watching on TV, you know when they come and go, you hear the in-depth conversation about her corns on her toes. People are loud going past your door due to the outdoor hallways, and everyone just lets the doors slam. It's just obnoxiously loud. Pop is not a place for a relaxing week vacation, but a few nights at a good rate can't be beat and I'll be back. Bring earplugs. Read less

Nice large tv in room air kicked when we needed it to coffee maker was nice! Only thing is that water around there doesn’t taste the best we used to think it was the Joefferys coffee it’s not it’s the water we bring like 3 cases of good water with us now that water is not good tasteing I am sure it’s clean it’s just something about the taste! Disney keeps there hotels so nice looking and everything on there property it’s such a difference compared to other place! Wonderful pools running trail around hour glass lake and so much more! Fun theming throughout the courtyard, hotel buildings and individual rooms. We booked a standard room but were upgraded to a premium room. Rooms are the same, it's the location that makes it premium. We were in the 70's building 10, right next to the main hall that has the lobby and shop and foot court. Rooms had been updated since our last visit and had a nice Mickey Mouse theme. Bathrooms are nicely divided from the rest of the room. There was tons of storage everywhere in the room. The second queen bed in the room was a Murphy Bed. When it was not pulled down for bed usage, there was a table attached to it. Due to the pocket door in the bathroom there was not a lot of room on the wall for the roll of toilet paper so you have to bend around in an odd manner to get any. Read less

Just got home from staying at Pop Century Resort. The room itself was very small for my family of four. We had a queen bed and pull down double bed. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room was renovated and clean. Vey little space for luggage when the Murphy bed was pulled down. My daughter arrived first and had an issue with her luggage not getting to her room, and the staff was quite rude. The hotel layout is huge and expect to do a lot of walking, depending on where you are placed. Pool closed early, and could not late night swim after parks. A nice benefit was the new skyliner transportation which connected to Epcot ,riviera hotel, carribean beach hotel , and Hollywood studios nicely. However lines were really long at transportation center. Overall, you cantell it was a value hotel, but if you are not in the room a lot and have a smaller family may still be a viable option. Don’t think we will be staying there again. Not with teens. Read less
