I’m a little disappointed if I’m honest. First impression were not good. We arrived at 0945 in the morning having been travelling for over 17 hours to be told checking was 2pm. The reception then proceed to tell us what was not included in our package and not much else. Simple things like where the toilets were or where we could freshen up were not given. We told just to sit and wait. At 11am Airoflot crew arrived (20+ people) they were checked in and rooms given with in half an hour. Which considering we had been waiting patiently was not good. At 12pm with no further input from staff I approached reception as they had just bedded a number of people. I spoke to a member of staff how couldn’t find my name or paperwork and the proceed to tell me check in was 2pm. I was a little frustrated and abrupt due to this as you should not be bedding someone when other have been waiting. Someone came to speak to us half an hour later. She said the have a contract with airoflot and that’s why they were bedded sooner. Unfortunately this isn’t acceptable. The hotel has a contract with everyone who has booked and paid to be there. People should be bedded on first come first served or shown appropriate facilities to use whilst they wait. When we’re eventually given our room (last of the crowd to be bedded) Not a good experience to start our holiday and it wasn’t the last in poor management we saw. The resort in itself is in beautiful location. The gardens are well kept and the rooms are comfortable. Our room was in a slightly quieter part of the resort which we had requested as we were there to relax and de-stress. The pool in this area is nice but the sun beds are sat on stones which are the walked into the pool. The pools aren’t cleaned out so water shoes are recommended. The stones are not raked and are full of cigarette ends. More attention to these area is required. The room was good. Plenty of space and good wardrobes. Patio was clean and tidy mosquitoes start to be more active around 16.30 so would recommend having some sort repellent device for patio areas. No issue with bugs in the bedroom but some ant in the shower area. We had a bath which we couldn’t use as the hot tap didn’t work. Report but not fixed. The lock on the main door did stop working which was fixed fairly quickly. The show buffet. The food was really good. I never got bored. Always a good variety on offer and it challenges you to try new things. One particular member of staff stood out and that was Sameer. He was very good at knowing when to offer drinks and clear plates. He was also always there with a smile. If they were all like him it would be almost perfect place to eat. Burger truck we didn’t use, but the food looked good. Room service. Don’t use the app call. The app doesn’t work. The portion sizes are quite large so just be careful when ordering. We order too much and the felt guilty because we could eat it all. The quality though was excellent and it was delicious and hot. The bar. We went most nights for pre dinner drinks as it get too busy and there not a lot of room considering the size of the hotel.. Another quieter bar would have been better, for those that don’t want the loud music and in your face entertainment every night. Missing out on the sunsets by the beach. Poor behaviour which was accepted by staff. There resort has a lot of day guests. We witnessed some really poor behaviour around d the pool area. Where a family group. Proceeded to take beds and umbrellas they were In use by other guest and the 3 members of staff allowed this. Then one sat on someone’s bed chucked their towels in the rain when they had just left for 10 minutes. The staff did nothing. Not acceptable. We had one more issue., following finding out our flight had been re-ticketed for a later departure. We approach reception as we had been told the there was strict checkout of 11am but you could arrange (pay for) late checkout. How every when trying to explain we were shut down and told to go back on the day before with our documentation and passport.,as they told the airline would let them know which we though was very strange. We did as were told and went back the day before. the lady that was I reception was much more approachable and finally listen to what we were saying and discussed our options. We could keep our room but she explained there were 2 rooms in the spa and we could book one for 2200 rupees. Which we did which meant we could relax and enjoy the last day of holiday. The best part of this resort though has to be the spa. When the music from the main pool area isn’t banging away it’s the most tranquil relaxing place in the resort. You can book to go and sit in the garden everyday which we did most days in the afternoons. The treatments are amazing big thank to Milena, Roshni and Sandrine and everyone’s else in the spa. One small note you need bigger dressing gowns. Or if your not a uk size 12 take you own. Overall it’s a lovely resort but a few little improvements and customer service training would make it amazing. Read less
