Image of the Tripadvisor rating First time stay was amazing

We have traveled to Lake Tahoe many times and every time we stay in Stateline, we have stayed at the Horizon and last time Hard Rock Tahoe (after 15 years). We have traveled to Lake Tahoe many times and every time we stay in Stateline, we have stayed at the Horizon and last time Hard Rock Tahoe (after 15 years). This was our first stay at Harvey's as the last time the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe did not do that well for my parents & me. One thing you'll notice upon entering (and I saw the same thing at Harrah's Tahoe) was that most (if not all) check in counters are replaced by a touch screen (similar to an airport - automation at its finest). The only issue with that was my reservation was not pulled until I realized I did not change like I thought. Luckily, I was still able to get around the same rate as I booked for a couple of weeks later initially, but even then my reservation did not pull from the touch screen. But luckily a staff member was able to help me out, despite the mess taking almost over an hour (yes, it was my fault). We got room 728, and the room was amazing. Window was probably one of the largest (with a curved shape) facing a view of both Stateline and the mountains. The bathroom is probably one of the largest I have ever stayed at and even in 4-star hotels in India I have not seen such a thing so far (yet). One gripe of the bathroom was that there are no tubs (though Harveys did show tub/shower combo, which was misleading). However, the shower was very powerful with a lot of pressure and the sink water had a lot of pressure too (something lacking in Hard Rock next door). It's just a little bit of a shock, because every place we have stayed at, we are simply just too used to having a bathtub or if not a bathtub, something like a shower but also a shower tap to switch between the water/shower. Coming to the beds, just very comfortable and soft, even better than the bed at my home. Got a very good night's sleep on them. There is a Starbucks downstairs, which is very convenient at the times it's open. The issue is that they closed minutes before I showed up and their hours are limited whereas in Harrah's it's open daily till 8PM. Casinos are pretty good and we even saw a small concert near the bars. We did not get a chance to eat at any of the restaurants, so cannot comment on those. Overall, despite paying a little more than Hard Rock, for the price I paid, it was definitely worth the $$. If my parents & I return to Lake Tahoe, we will definitely stay here again. Read less

I stayed at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe and it was really nice. Was upgraded to a suite with a fantastic view of Lake Tahoe. Harvey’s is owned by El Dorado now same as Harrah’s which is across the street and you can access it from underground. It’s a short walk to the shops and the gondola that takes you to Heavenly. I will definitely stay here again next… Read more

We stayed in the "luxury" room with 2 queen beds. The room itself isn't too bad. Large bathroom, decent size room and got a mini-fridge and coffee machine. Ok, now to the ugly... The walls are very thin. You can hear everything! Everytime someone walked in the next room, the floor shook, which shook our walls and bed -everytime. Not sure if the people next to us are just heavy-footed or what but this happened very frequently for every step. And they were very active walking around in their room. They were loud throughout the late night. It sucked. We could hear everything. And you can hear every person walking down the hallway too. Doors close heavy and loud. The casino is a bit dated, dark with no moving air. Lobby wasn't much of a lobby. Entry doors should be remodel. No automatic doors and entry to the hotel was not welcoming. Hallways are long and dark... reminded me of a particular horror film. Only place onsite with decent food and drinks were at Hell's Kitchen but of course thats quite a bit of spending each time. Luckily we were close enough to heavenly resort for more dining and shopping experience. I'll have to stay at Harrahs next time. It seems more inviting. Read less

I’ve never been in a hotel where there is an inch of dust all the way around the room on the rug next to the walls. The bathroom was moldy and in disrepair. Overall, a really bad place to stay. The casino was clean and enjoyable. But we will never stay in the hotel again.

We really loved our room. We were overlooking a rooftop but the mountain views more than made up for that!! The room is very comfortable, small table with chairs, super comfortable beds, very spacious. The bathroom was so nice - HUGE and lots of vanity space with very nice shower. The Starbucks was right outside of the elevators and the staff at Starbucks was SO nice and efficient every single day! We definitley didn't win anything but the casino was very clean with a great selection of games and the cocktail waitresses were very friendly and quick with the drinks. Free parking was very much appreciated. We were there for a business event and the event room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. The convention staff was extremely efficient and super friendly. Easy walk to shopping and the Gondola which is an absolute must!!!! One thing I feel like needs to be mentioned -it would have been nice to know is that they don't provide housekeeping unless you have a long stay. It was really no big deal but on the second day with no service we called and found out that this wasn't provided. I think it would be nice to have fresh towels and coffee refills delivered even if you aren't going to clean the room. Also would be smart to have a sign in the room letting the guests know about this policy. Again, no big deal and wouldn't keep me from staying again but guest should be made aware. Bigger pillows would be nice too. They are very small and squishy. We asked to have three additional pillows deliverd and were told we could only have two. We did receive three which was really appreciated. Read less
