Lakefront cottage is located perfectly. Tower Room was stuffy. Spa treatments were overpriced but staff was outstanding. We are locals and know where to go and what to do and new the offseason situation prior to our planning.

The resort's website portrays the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort as a top-notch destination. My husband and I booked our honeymoon there, looking for a place to be able to hole-up and just relax. When we checked in, we were "upgraded" to another room and we were excited. We got to the room and were so disappointed. It was a huge room but there was one window tucked awkwardly in the corner, making the room extremely dark. The bathroom was tiny and in major need of an upgrade. The carpet throughout the entire place was all torn where it met the walls. The worst part, however, which I have seen some complaints about, was that you could hear everything going on in the hotel through the walls. All night my husband and I thought there was a foghorn going off about every 10 minutes. At 4:30am we figured out it was the elevators, which were a full six rooms away from us! We could also hear all of the plumbing from the surrounding rooms, so it was an extremely restless night. We checked out the very next morning and found a different resort to spend the remainder of our honeymoon at. I will say that the staff was great, the front desk attendants were very friendly and great to work with. The lobby of the resort is beautiful and welcoming, but the room and the constant noises were just not what we were expecting. And after talking with other people throughout our trip to Lake Tahoe, it seemed the general consensus was that the Hyatt needed to do some major updates to keep up with competing resorts. Read less

The hotel is great with such kind people that made us feel so welcome, especially with our little dog. The room was great, furnished with a luxury bed for our dog. She felt like a queen! The hotel food that we tried wasn't very good and we didn't have access to the beach. But overall, it was a very nice experience. Would like to go back. Read less
