Tivoli Lodge

Vail, Colorado

The hotel

Combining modern architecture with the feel of a mountain lodge, the Tivoli is a firm favourite with skiers. Warm in atmosphere with great service from attentive staff, it also enjoys unobstructed views of the Vail’s Golden Peak ski area. Guest rooms are spacious and impeccably-appointed with the finest linens and large soaking tubs – much appreciated after a busy day on the mountain! There are also two hot tubs to stake your place in, both with mountain views, the perfect way to relax and unwind. Breakfast is a delight at the Tivoli, complete with an omelette station and house specialities such as French toast and buttermilk biscuits. Come sundown, there’s the Brown Hound Lounge with overstuffed chairs, leather sofas and towering views of the mountain. A wonderful place for a spot of après-ski, try a signature Indini cocktail, inspired by former mascot Indy, the chocolate Labrador for whom the name is lounged – yep, you guessed it, it has a chocolate theme!

From the moment I made the reservation and spoke to Chris about my boyfriend’s surprise birthday week, I knew we would be in good hands. Chris gave me several options for activities and hiking. He coordinated the chocolate and wine to be placed in the room upon arrival, the white water rafting with Timberline Tours and horseback riding at Vail Stables as well as reservations at Mountain Standard for dinner. When we arrived at Tivoli Lodge, we were greeted at the front desk by Jared who took the time to remember my name and greeted me every time I saw him. He handed me a folder with the itinerary of activities for the week that was created by Chris. As we entered the room, the chocolates and wine were placed in the room that overlooked the beautiful mountains and was well appointed with a soaking tub, shower, fireplace, and kitchenette area. The professionalism and attention to detail by the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, walking distance from Vail Village and its shops and restaurants...the list goes on. I live in Las Vegas and have a grand expectation of what kind of experience guests should have. Tivoli Village was exceptional! We shall be returning to Vail and will choose to stay at Tivoli Lodge if they will have us. Thank you, Chris, Jared, and the rest of the staff at Tivoli Lodge for making our week magical and practically perfect in every way. Read less

I was scheduled to spend 4 days at tivoli lodge with my daughter. Unfortunately, she came down with mono and was unable to travel. I am a widow so her sole caretaker and could not leave her to keep the reservation. When I called to inquire about cancelling or receiving a credit for my prepaid stay I was told no deal. They are sticking to their nonrefundable cancellation policy. I have a doctors note but still no. In the time since I have been widowed I have never encountered a company who did not have the compassion to understand the challenges of being a solo parent. Disgraceful Read less

I first visited Tivoli in 1993, and while I didn’t return till 2010, we’ve even back every year since. From the proximity to Gondola One, the quiet atmosphere, and most importantly the friendly staff, we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else.

My wife and I were looking for a slopeside location for three days of skiing at Vail before attending a conference in a nearby city. We had an outstanding experience at the Tivoli. The room was quiet, the bed was soft and comfortable, the common area was a great place to hang out by the fire and eat free afternoon cookies, coffee, tea, and cider. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a variety of dishes that changed each day, and always omelettes made to order. The ski valet was convenient, although sometimes the room was not staffed and you had to retrieve or rack your skis/boots. The staff at the front desk was always helpful in providing directions, advice on restaurants, and useful information about Vail. Read less

The Tivoli Lodge is a great escape for anyone who wants to experience Vail during the ski season. We've been coming to The Tivoli Lodge for 10 plus years as we enjoy the property, the ease of walking to the village to shop and dine. Not to mention the Gondola is a few hundred yards away. The staff has always been great from the experience of checking in, breakfast, or a few drinks with Jim-The Bartender in the evening to cap of the day. Highly recommend The Tivoli Lodge as we always have had a great time. Read less
