Tivoli Lodge

The hotel

Combining modern architecture with the feel of a mountain lodge, the Tivoli is a firm favourite with skiers. Warm in atmosphere with great service from attentive staff, it also enjoys unobstructed views of the Vail’s Golden Peak ski area. Guest rooms are spacious and impeccably-appointed with the finest linens and large soaking tubs – much appreciated after a busy day on the mountain! There are also two hot tubs to stake your place in, both with mountain views, the perfect way to relax and unwind. Breakfast is a delight at the Tivoli, complete with an omelette station and house specialities such as French toast and buttermilk biscuits. Come sundown, there’s the Brown Hound Lounge with overstuffed chairs, leather sofas and towering views of the mountain. A wonderful place for a spot of après-ski, try a signature Indini cocktail, inspired by former mascot Indy, the chocolate Labrador for whom the name is lounged – yep, you guessed it, it has a chocolate theme!

We stayed at the Tivoli Lodge a number of times years ago and it has been remodeled since. It is a lovely building in a prime spot in Vail. Easy to get to at the east end of the Village. Valet parking. Can walk to everything. The rooms are lovely and the staff helpful and friendly. A great value.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tivoli. We had a very spacious and light-filled room (Mountain view). We loved the location of the hotel - easy walk to the village center as well as to teh Gerald Ford theater. Nice common areas, lovely hot tub.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at the Tivoli Lodge. I was in Vail for a wedding and it was one of the recommended hotels on the invitation. First of all, I was in room 417 and after looking at the hotel map, it was one of the two smallest rooms on each floor of the hotel. My parents room and my sister's room were about double the size of ours. Don't stay in any room with 17 or 19 at the end. Second, this hotel has no restuarant, so there is no room service and no gift shop so you can't get any food or incidental items in the hotel. Frankly, this place is more like a motel than a hotel. Our TV didn't work for most of our stay. They finally got it fixed after 3 nights. The coffee creamers in our room went bad and turned into cottage cheese when my wife put them in her coffee. They never replaced them after my wife alerted them of the issue. Normally none of these things would be a big issue, besides the terrible room we were in, but my wife got sick and needed to be in the room a lot more than usual so we found all of these things to be even more inconvenient. They have a continental breakfast at the hotel for an additional $17 which I think is ridiculous considering how much of a better breakfast you can get at Big Bear Bistro which is a 2 min walk or Westside Cafe and Market which is a quick drive but an AMAZING breakfast. Parking at the hotel is $38 per night - another ripoff. The worst part about this place was the response from the hotel staff. They didn't seem too motivated to fix our issues. They guy doing the breakfast gave us a free breakfast when I told him we were having a bad stay which was nice of him, but he was the only one who seemed apologetic. The guy at the front dest with the glasses got pissed off at me when I called this place a motel. How about you try to fix my issues instead of getting pissed off at me for voicing my displeasure?? Honestly, this place was an overpriced dump. I ended up paying about $1800 for 4 nights and parking in the wost room in the hotel. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay here again. Read less

We have returned to the Tivoli Lodge year after year. We love the location between the center of Vail and the Dance Festival. The room was immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast buffet and the cook was very accommodating with our special requests.

Staff was unfriendly, fireplace didn't work and was not even close to being worthy of nearly $500 for one night. This property has so much potential but falls woefully short in so many ways. Don't waste your money on breakfast either, not a good value at all. There has to be better options.
