Tivoli Lodge

Vail, Colorado

The hotel

Combining modern architecture with the feel of a mountain lodge, the Tivoli is a firm favourite with skiers. Warm in atmosphere with great service from attentive staff, it also enjoys unobstructed views of the Vail’s Golden Peak ski area. Guest rooms are spacious and impeccably-appointed with the finest linens and large soaking tubs – much appreciated after a busy day on the mountain! There are also two hot tubs to stake your place in, both with mountain views, the perfect way to relax and unwind. Breakfast is a delight at the Tivoli, complete with an omelette station and house specialities such as French toast and buttermilk biscuits. Come sundown, there’s the Brown Hound Lounge with overstuffed chairs, leather sofas and towering views of the mountain. A wonderful place for a spot of après-ski, try a signature Indini cocktail, inspired by former mascot Indy, the chocolate Labrador for whom the name is lounged – yep, you guessed it, it has a chocolate theme!

Thanks for a great weekend trip. Loved the hotel and the proximity to skiing and Vail Village. My daughter and son both enjoyed meeting "Speed" (the friendly dog) in the lobby. Five ****'s in every category!

The rate seemed reasonable for April, but then they added $40 a night for the car. Do a lot of their guests come on foot? There was also a “resort charge” for the right to use the hot tub, etc., which I never did. I will never stay here again. I plan to renew this review when the ski season starts.

We have stayed in a variety of hotels in Vail and Aspen over 20 years and this visit was one of the best. Fab location, hotel facilities excellent but most of all the personal input from the owners and staff was second to none. We look forward to returning as often as possible! We also loved meeting the family dogs!

We travel a lot. This was by far the best over all stay we've had in a very long time! Everyone was great! "Speed"The dog was a very friendly host! We were very impressed with the entire building and staff. The location couldn't be better.

The room was the best I ever stayed in at Vail. The 16 foot ceiling with a chandaler, towel warmer , 6 head shower and extravagant finishes was amazing. At check in they moved me to a smaller room but didn't offer to reduce the cost till I asked if it was the room I reserved. And then we had a misunderstand about the cost of parking quoted on the phone. The front desk girl asked if I had a name of who I spoke to, and caused me to return to my car on the street 3 times for more info. Then said the name I had spoken to never quoted the lower price over the phone. A wonderful guy named Greg stepped up and eased my tension, and got me back into the room I'd paid for. But again at check out, they still double charged me for parking. And the girl needed me to assure her that I wasn't driving, and parking two cars. ( since I was alone it would have been difficult ) She said she would refund the double charge, but I've not yet seen a credit. Read less
