Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

Phoenix, Arizona

The hotel

If ever a hotel was deliciously OTT, this is it. Its 39 acres host enough pools to swim in a different one every day of the week (and still have one spare); 2 championship golf courses; and dining experiences including a Sunday Brunch that will satisfy your hunger for a week, and High Teas with dainty cakes and finger sandwiches. The setting’s pretty lavish too – near Phoenix Mountain Preserve and Biltmore Fashion Park Mall. A Frank Lloyd Wright design masterpiece, with a 1930s pool rumoured to have been Marilyn Monroe’s favourite, Arizona Biltmore’s past is so fascinating they even host history tours. That’s not to say it’s stuck in the past: modern musts here include complimentary WiFi, a fitness centre, a 92-foot waterslide, and five dining venues serving contemporary takes of classic dishes.

One of a kind property with beautiful design and architecture to enjoy, top- rated restaurants, retro outdoor games, lux rooms with the best pillows - all surrounded by a lush golf course and Piestewa Peak calling in the background. Thoughtful, friendly service at every turn (thanks LaMont). Would recommend for business or personal travel.

We love staying at the Biltmore. The facility is historic and offers exceptional service and comfort. The cottages are private and convenient-highly recommended. We appreciate the friendly staff and the care taken to maintain this beautiful property.

My daughter and I came to spend a few nights and play golf. Beautiful hotel and service is as it should be. Well done. There are two golf courses on property. We preferred the Links course. It moved well and was challenging without being impossible. Restaurant on site is apparently going to convert to a steak house in the coming year. My… Read more

If you're going to Phoenix and can afford it - stay here. Preferably in one of the historic rooms. Period. But be prepared to eat out if you're there more than one night, as the dining options are VERY limited.

Considering the price you pay you would expect the service and amenities to be top. The resort is beautiful and the rooms nice and roomy. But room service was often done around 3pm, I could not go back to my room for a nap. Amenities at the pool are very poor, the chairs are old and uncomfortable. The cafe market where you can get something for breakfast is expensive and has the level of a fast food. The service at the bar was slow! All in all beautiful grounds but too onerous for what you get. Read less
