The hotel

As synonymous with Boston as the eponymous tea party and cream pie, Boston Park Plaza has been a landmark on the city’s hotel circuit since it opened 90 years ago. Reinterpreted for the 21st century traveller with a $100 million mega-makeover, it now adds contemporary décor and mod-cons to its timeless elegance. And you’re in good company, with all bar two US Presidents staying here since it opened. It’s easy to see why, with a top-drawer location near Boston Common. Of course, they wouldn’t all have experienced today’s attractions, which include a mammoth 20,000 SF Health Club, the nightly cocktail hour (well 5 hours) in the Library, and the New England inspired dining of its Off the Common restaurant, with Boston’s signature lobster rolls a menu favourite.

The room is good but very plain. White walls. But some guests might like that. The view is great on the top floor. Very quiet but wan't sure whether it was because there were few guests on our floor. Big hotel in off-season so I'm sure they can space guests away from each other. Very close to the Arlington T stop, a big plus. The gym is great. No… Read more

No swimming pool though but it's probably hard to find a hotel with pool smack in the middle of a city like Boston. The staff were super nice and helpful though one was a little terse. Overall, it's very good place to stay. Read less

Beautiful hotel with one of the nicest lobbies I have ever seen. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Starbucks and gym on site, as well as a couple of restaurant choices! Great location with plenty to do within walking distance. Room was very clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to stay again!!!

Last month my husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Boston. This was our first time to Boston and we stayed at the Park Plaza. The location was great -we walked just about everywhere and it was also close to a subway station. The check-in process was easy and they were as friendly as could be. The rooms were on the smaller side but very clean and comfortable. The bed was also comfy. Each night we ended up at the lobby bar for a night cap and had many fun/informative conversations with Harry and Francisco - some of the best bartenders we've had! They were very helpful on suggesting things to do and gave us info on how to get around town. We soon realized that we missed seeing a bunch of stuff and we loved staying at Park Plaza so we just booked another trip to visit again in August. Looking forward to our next stay! Read less
