Hilton Boston Park Plaza

The hotel

As synonymous with Boston as the eponymous tea party and cream pie, Hilton Boston Park Plaza has been a landmark on the city’s hotel circuit since it opened 90 years ago. Reinterpreted for the 21st century traveller with a $100 million mega-makeover, it now adds contemporary décor and mod-cons to its timeless elegance. And you’re in good company, with all bar two US Presidents staying here since it opened. It’s easy to see why, with a top-drawer location near Boston Common. Of course, they wouldn’t all have experienced today’s attractions, which include a mammoth 20,000 SF Health Club, the nightly cocktail hour (well 5 hours) in the Library, and the New England inspired dining of its Off the Common restaurant, with Boston’s signature lobster rolls a menu favourite.

The standard rooms are small which reminds me of NYC, but clean and luxurious. I was there for just two nights and did not get to experience all that was offered, but the bar and restaurant were busy. The staff was most professional and welcoming. The property is very convenient to midtown businesses and tourist locations. The Freedom Trail starts nearby and is worth the walk if you have time. Boston is a vibrant "youthful" city with tons of activity which is nice, but it was also nice to step into the lobby and feel the relief. There's a lot to be said of peace and quite after a busy day. More time here would have been nice. Read less

My first time back in the park plaza in quite a while. The hotel feels refreshed but has kept its charm. Sophia at the front desk made me feel so welcome, and made the trip so enjoyable. My room was clean, comfortable, sizable (especially for Boston) and a mix of old character and new design.

After a snafu with my original room, Amaria, a wonderful guest services staff member, came to my rescue with a perfect, spacious room with wonderful amenities and a nice view. It made my 4 day stay amazing! Also, the housekeeping staff was friendly and thorough.
