Loved how its a walking distance to restaurants. Nice view. Food tuck and shopping mall. Near the ocean and many amenities. My kids enjoyed and suggested they want live in the hotel. Hhaha… this was our first stay here since i had a gift certificate for my daughter’s 10 yr bday. And im glad that she loved it.

Amenities in hotel were limited, such as room service upon request only and limited for dining inside. Thought hotel lobby on my floor (16) was dark and uninviting. There was a gigantic stain in the middle of the floor and then plastic on part of the carpet. It just was not as nice as I remembered it from a couple years prior. Amenities not… Read more

We stayed 5 nights on vacation with our kids. The location is absolutely fantastic - walk to the beach, shopping, chain restaurants nearby, boat tours, restaurant area up a few blocks on Pine etc. Freeway nearby. The hotel is light and airy. The room was standard sized and furnishings were what you'd expect for a standard hotel. Now for the bad. It's understaffed. No bell hops or assistance with our bags coming or going. Lots of parking valets, one of whom lost interest in helping us with bags when we said we were self-parking... Seemed to constantly be homeless or mentally disturbed folks hanging out at parking garage near entrance and at least twice I saw them on property. The hotel didnt seem to have any process for getting them services instead of being on property. There's no restaurant. The market/cafe is thinly stocked and wildly overpriced. It ran out of water bottles at least twice while we were there. Service was uneven - one very helpful and resourceful front desk clerk but another who acted as if I was his high school buddy and kept calling me "man". Market cafe/bar staff seemed overworked and a bit grumpy; maybe they expected large tips every time we went but that seems a bit much. No hand sanitizer anywhere. When LA County reintroduced the mask mandate, there was no attempt to enforce it. I don't have an issue with peoples' choices but I do expect a hotel to follow the law. Late in the day, one sign was put up at elevators. No sign the elevators and common areas were cleaned much. The pool is small but nice. Housekeeping and poolside staff were friendly and helpful. Parking garage is accessible from streets and bikers/pedestrians cruise through, so we emptied our car regularly. Would we stay again? Maybe if it was as cheap as it was this time - solely becauseof the location. But I expected more from Hyatt and next time may look at the Rennaissance a block up the street. Read less
