There are lots of attractions and activities along the Bay too, such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Steinbeck Museum, or head out in the car for 20 minutes or so for a bit of hiking, winery action or spa treats. Excellent friendly staff that is very helpful with all your needs. They are attentive and responsive. The hotel is nice, our room overlooked the water and sunset. Nice daily breakfast with a great staff. We would stay here again.

Every hotel people was so kind. I can’t use how we can use sofa bed, but they helped very gently. Breakfast was perfect too. This is second time I stayed in the US and it was further better than previous( it was also big hotel).

Stayed here recently for a family trip to the Aquarium. For the cost this hotel leaves little to be desired not the cleanest but I’ve definitely stayed at worse. I little more attention to cleaning would go along away for the price you pay here.

Well, the first room I checked into the bed had springs popping out at you when I laid down so asked to see another room bed. That room had a comfy bed I laid down on for a little but when I went to put my food in the fridge I noticed it was still dirty with drippings of things in the door pooled at the bottom. I was willing to let that slide but then went to the bathroom to take a shower and saw nasty yellow and rusty-looking scrapes and gross things. I could tell it had not been cleaned by the tub watermarks. It was NOT just a stain. The cleaning lady they sent up said it would not come out but came out partially. Even if it is a stain then you can bleach out stuff like that I have done it myself. I almost offered to help her but was tired. I notified the front desk and the girl acted like I was asking too much saying "well see if we have a room up to your standards" WTH??? A clean and comfortable bed too much to ask??? Paying more than the 4-star hotel that I ended up moving to the next night. No, thank you. The one-star breakfast was not worth paying extra for sure. They changed me to a third room that was clean but the bed was also not comfortable so I barely slept and left early in the morning. I decided I wanted to pay my hard-earned money on a hotel with a clean room, kinder customer service and comfortable beds. The Portola hotel and spa is a much better choice. The spa is awesome! i had an amazing massage there and it was so nice being in a clean room I could actually rest in right next to the spa. Read less
