It's nice to be able to relax in the spacious comfort of your two-room suite, but the complimentary hot breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelette station will help get you out and set up for the day. At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside, you are a couple of blocks from the beach and just two miles north of Downtown Monterey. There are lots of attractions and activities along the Bay too, such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Steinbeck Museum, or head out in the car for 20 minutes or so for a bit of hiking, winery action or spa treats. The hotel’s 2-hour evening reception with complimentary cocktails and snacks is a great way to kick-off your evening. The Silver Tide Bar & Grill is in the atrium too, so why not drop in afterwards for some local California cuisine?

Decided to venturing out during Covid and stayed and the Embassy. The rooms were smaller than other Embassy hotels I have been too but that would be the only thing I could say I didn’t like. Wouldn’t stop be me from coming back to great customer service and patience with everyone during this Covid season. Great service and super clean through out room and hotel. Loved how they limited the amount in their pool which protects ourselves but also gives us privacy for our family. Thank you Embassy employees for all you do. We see you and thank you!! Read less

I am a Gold Level Hilton Honors member-very loyal to the brand. We were so excited to just get away for a few days to relax and enjoy ourselves but the hotel really was disappointing. The room was okay- clean yes but not extra clean as expected during these times. We were told at check-in there was no housekeeping during our stay unless requested-okay I get that but if you know someone will be there for 3 days then why not leave extra coffee, condiments, plastic cups, etc- rather than make the guest call every time they need something-anticipate the need is customer service 101. The refrigerator clearly had not been defrosted in months-there was ice build-up inside that was pretty gross. The breakfast was truly disgusting! I fully understand the limits due to COVID 19 but there is no excuse for what was served for breakfast. Cold, soggy French Toast, cold undercooked bacon-no excuses if you cannot provide decent hot food than why bother. I nice muffin or pastry would have been better and appreciated-we ended up having to find a restaurant for breakfast-which there are many. If they can figure it out the hotel can too. Simply serving the food from a hotline to go would have been an easy fix - storing pre-cooked meals in a hot box was a poor choice. We also experienced a blackout for which no outreach or explanation was given. And we stepped off the elevator to go to our room only to find a dog had pooped all along the carpet and guest had been stepping in it-certainly not the hotel's fault but I had to let them know it had happened and the housekeeping staff should have noticed. Consider having some dog-free floors. We did not see any common areas being cleaned such as elevators, computer areas (which were filthy), or railings during the time we were there. After 2 days we decided to check out early. Read less

We get in and not one of the surfaces were cleaned - red stains on the carpet- food and make up all over the tables and bedroom desk. I was cleaning it with Clorox wipes but then we noticed it was every surface. So I stopped. I turned the bed sheet and there was long brown hair underneath the sheets. We called down and it took them 25 minutes to room change us. We got to a new room, not an upgrade and we sweated all night even with the AC on 60, the AC doesn’t work appropriately...so we opened the window but there wasn’t a lot of breeze. Very disappointed with this place. The offered $30 off - not worth the bad service and sleeping issue. Read less

The hotel’s General Manager, Teri Owens, did not show any compassion to assist me, an essential worker, during my stay at this hotel. My assignment was to follow up on COVID-19 related illnesses at a facility in the Monterey area. I booked two nights knowing that the inspection will probably go longer than two days. In the morning of the inspection, I was notified by my office that the facility had been temporarily closed down by management for a week. My inspection was to be rescheduled as soon as the facility reopens. Immediately after notification, I contacted Ms. Owens so I can cancel my second night stay and check out of my hotel after the first day. Ms. Owens told me that she will charge me an early departure fee of $50 since I booked the second night. I told her that my employer will not cover this fee since I did not stay the second night and I will have to pay for this cost out of pocket. I asked if I can reschedule and reserve a room for a future date since I will need to follow up on my inspection at a later date anyway. Ms. Owens totally ignored my request and insisted that I need to pay the $50 fee. I don’t like arguments so I decided that I will pay this amount out of pocket and treat this as a learning experience. I’m hoping that this type of attitude and lack luster customer service is not promoted by Hilton to its customers. Ms. Owens, being the Gen. Manager, should serve as a role model to Hilton employees. She did not show any type of compassion to her guest. Customer service was not her priority! It was all about financial gains. I may have lost $50 but this hotel had lost my family, my friends, and my coworkers’ business. Very sad experience at this hotel especially during this time of crisis. We should all be helping each other out as decent human beings. Read less

I like the Embassy. I have stayed there numerous times, both in my duties as an Associate Medical Director for SCRAMP and as a private citizen staying in Monterey for SCCA race weekends or Historics Week. It is convenient to Acme Coffee, Laguna Seca and to Monterey and points south. It has always been at the top of the pricing scale, especially considering that it’s actually in Seaside, not downtown Monterey, PG or Carmel. I have stayed since the Pandemic and I agree, there’s none of the usual amenities and there’s really no discounted rates reflecting the lack of those amenities. However, my main concern, which has been a recurrent problem, is their (very strange) lack of hot water for showers or sink. Out of the last 5 times I’ve stayed there, there’s been no hot water in my room for 3 of those stays, so this is not a one-time issue. I have asked front desk about it while I’m there, but never really resolved the problem. It does not seem to be related to the time of day. Read less
