Not jazzed about this hotel, especially for the hefty price tag! You can read other reviews for an overview but these are my two deal breakers - Noise noise and more noise - Im writing this as I sit in our room with my baby in my arms napping because there is non stop noise in the hall and coming from the room next door. I can hear the guy coughing - walls must be very thin! And the non-stop thud of doors opening and closing all day (seems housekeeping is always doing someone’s room and is in and out in and out...)!! It’s not exaggerating to say it’s. All. Day. Long. Hallway noise day and night from guests is very disruptive. You can hear everything in these rooms - it’s like there’s no sound reduction at all. There’s also a sizable gap under the door that lets in everything. We are not on a low floor and we are toward the end of the hall - which other reviewers have commented could help noise, it doesn’t. Bathroom - The bathroom has double doors with shutters on them so you can hear everything, pretty gross. What is the point of this - isn’t it time to fix this Kimpton? Plenty of reviewers have mentioned it...Enough said. The set up leaves a lot to be desired for a supposedly upscale place like this. Disappointed - would not recommend and will not return. Read less

The hotel is good, but for the price, we found the room truly disappointing. Yes, it's a lovely bed, but it's oversized for the room and the color, texture, furniture feel-good quotient was was off. I thought it was very expensive for a hotel that had a mediocre room. The rest was good, nice people, good location, clean but the room, no. And by… Read more

We had a great stay here over July 4 weekend. The rate was very reasonable, especially for a holiday weekend. They do a nice wine happy hour each day. It’s right off State St, central to everything. They also all were super welcoming of our dog. There were a few small oversights during cleaning (leaving old glasses and stuff like that) but… Read more

Very, very good. Aside from the clean, fresh presentation of this updated property, the staff are first class. Unfailingly friendly and helpful, they are always ready with a neat conversation or a useful gesture. Unfailingly friendly and helpful, they are always ready with a neat conversation or a useful gesture. The beautiful, comfy canopy beds are a signature attraction—though they are very high off the stylish wood floors. A key, hidden gem is the rooftop terrace and pool. The terrace is a lovely spot for relaxed conversation and sweeping panoramas of the beautiful Santa Barbara landscape. You can order food and drinks at the poolside bar. The hotel is a block off tourist-popular State Street, with its long stretch of shopping and eating offerings. We also took our dogs over to Shoreline Park, with its easy stairway down to a beautiful beach, where dogs frolicked happily by the surf. It’s just a 10 minute drive away. The Finch & Fork “in house” restaurant is a legitimate, well-reviewed eatery—not the lukewarm compromise a hotel usually offers. The Kimpton Canary (named for the Canary Island interior design motif) is delightful. Read less

We travel quite a bit as a family and I also travel frequently on business. Recently we took a family trip to Santa Barbara for the weekend. This hotel was highly recommended so we were looking forward to the experience. I can't speak highly enough about the service that was provided by the entire staff at the hotel. From the bellman at check-in to the wait staff at the pool to the servers at the restaurant. Everyone provided great service. One individual in particular that stood out was Helen at the front desk. She went above and beyond in accommodating us in reference to the early pool closure the day of our arrival. I’d highly recommend staying at this property if you are coming through town. Read less
