I don't mind paying for a great hotel experience, but this was not it. I'm still trying to figure out what the substantial "resort fee" was for; it didn't include overnight parking. Read less

I absolutely loved the Kimpton Canary and was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my trip. The staff are an absolute delight, from checking in, to the restaurant and public spaces. In the heart of Santa Barbara, the Kimpton Canary is full of character. We had a very warm reception and welcome with complimentary drinks. My room was, a King Deluxe, was not especially big but very comfortable, with a high bed. The bathroom had a separate shower/bathtub with complimentary Atelier Bloem amenities. The rooms as well as the rest of the hotel had a very Mediterranean feel in their decor. We enjoyed drinks at the Finch & Fork bar as well as dinner and breakfast. The food was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly during dinner. At breakfast we found the team to be a little distracted, but the food was no less enjoyable. The hotel also has a rooftop pool terrace with a small swimming pool, a bar and various lounge options. There is also a fireplace for the evenings. It’s a wonderfully relaxing space at any time of the day. We were only here for a short stay and only wish we were staying longer. It’s a place I would very much love to return to. A great stay! After being quoted US$700/night for a Saturday stay, we waited for a more reasonable rate Sunday evening and enjoyed a quick but fulfilling stay. If you are lucky, Madison will greet you at the front desk. She got our visit off to a great start. Room was very well-appointed but not particularly spacious. If you are lucky, Madison will greet you at the front desk. She got our visit off to a great start. Room was very well-appointed but not particularly spacious. To my disappointment, I found no coffee maker in the room, and was perplexed by just one bath robe with a reservation for two. The location is unbeatable. Read less

We love the Canary Hotel! It's got a great vibe, fun bar, pretty rooms, and a great location. You can walk all over town. The roof deck is wonderful and overlooks the entire area. It has a pool there too but we didn't use it.
