I booked this hotel looking for a relaxing getaway in a nice location and I feel like that’s exactly what I got. I stayed in an ocean view suite on the 4th floor, it had a bedroom and a small sitting area. The bed was very comfortable. It felt more like I was staying in an upscale condo then a hotel. The location was beautiful. Walk across the street and you are at the Palisades, the cliffs/bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You can walk, or take the free bikes to the bike path on the beach or down to the Santa Monica Pier. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially the gentleman helping outside with the bikes. The drinks and food were good. The only slight drawback was the view from the room - it was more money as it was ocean view and all you could see was a tiny bit of ocean over a lot of vegetation (photo included here). If I came again I wouldn’t spend extra for that room type. Also (and I know this isn’t on the hotel) but there were so many very young children in the hot tub that at times it was hard to get in. I had read several reviews that this wasn’t a very family friendly place and I must say I saw the opposite! In any case, great hotel and I would love to come back one day. Read less

I have stayed at Fairmont hotels in the past, this one I can't believe it's Fairmont. Just good location. Rooms are outdated and dirty. Oceanview rooms have lots of noise at night because windows aren't double pane! Shower didn't work properly on our first room and bathroom fan was way too noisy on the second room. We stayed there for 2 nights… Read more

The room and bathroom was small and outdated, the phone did not work, the iPad was difficult to navigate and parking was ridiculously expensive at $52 per night. I feel that guests staying at the hotel should’ve been given a discount on the parking. The only good thing I can relay is they have a decent gym with some very good equipment. I did not have a good experience here as it didn’t live up to the Fairmont quality that I experienced in the past. There’s lots of other hotels in the area and Fairmont will not be my first choice in the future. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great hotel but night club is very loud if you're on the southern side

I stayed at the hotel in early October and had an ocean view king room that was southern facing on the 7th floor. the Night club directly below was obnoxiously loud despite the closed sliding glass door and ear plugs. I recommend requesting a very high floor or opposite side of the building before paying a premium for an ocean view room. Keep in… Read more

Keep in mind the night club music goes until very late even on Sunday night, and is much louder than any expected traffic/street noise. Read less
