Hollywood Roosevelt

Hollywood, Los Angeles

The hotel

The Roosevelt is Hollywood's only historic hotel still in operation today. It hosted the first ever Academy Awards in 1929 and has seen throngs of people - including celebrities galore - pass through its doors. The hotel has even been featured in a few films and Shirley Temple took her first tap-dancing lesson on the tiled stairway! As if that's not enough, Montgomery Clift and Marilyn Monroe are reputed to haunt the joint - proof this place is too good to leave!

We stayed one night at the Hollywood Roosevelt and we can’t wait to go back! All of the staff were excellent but our experience with Bill was exceptional. He took us on a mini tour of the hotel and gave us the hotels history. It was great! The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our son had the pancakes from Rosy’s Cafe and he said they… Read more

We had an excellent one night stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel! From phone reservation to check out, we were utterly impressed with the customer service we received. The room was beautifully clean and comfortable, and the food was all absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to stay here again!

My name is Jack Trout, I am a new actor in Hollywood. I found out from some other associates I work with to stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt when filming or frequenting TinselTown. I can not express my genuine gratitude towards this incredible establishment and I have now stayed there 3 times and everytime seems to be better. First off, the valet when you arrive. They are so well trained and genuinely like their jobs. They are so helpful and know and live in the area, they can help you with a lot of questions you may have. The security is unsurpassed and people like Byron have my back here, not that there are any issues, but you know what I mean in this day and age. The front desk: People like Robert are on top of their game and make suggestions that benefit your stay. I suggest signing up for IPrefer and getting an upgrade while you're attending. The luxurious grounds where so many stars have frequented are luminaries for your historic era, you only live once, better stay here is what I say. Marilyn Monroe, Liza Minelli, Will Smith and the list keeps growing. Manager Juan Pineda is a gem, talking about a guy who loves what he does. This Is one of the reasons I'll keep coming back and telling friends and family about Hollywood's finest place to stay. Did I tell you it's walking distance from Runyon Canyon? A place where you can walk and climb to see all of Hollywood and LA, plus the Hollywood sign? You go there Sizzler, you deserve it! The restaurant Barish is amazing!! But I suggest the Baha Tacos by the pool, you can't go wrong. When I stay here, they make me feel like a king and after the last two years we've had, I need a place to heal, this is my kingdom away from home. It's a great value to say the least. I'm not only a guest of Hollywood Roosevelt, I am a huge fan and it's all because of the people who work here. Carry yourself with class and grace and you will be rewarded because this staff remembers who is honest and fair to them. The secret of life is how you affect others in a positive way. This is the finest place I have ever stayed at in 54 countries I've visited. I can't say enough. other than Hollywood Roosevelt, "I LOVE YOU MAN!!" I've been staying at the Roosevelt for years even if my LA friends make fun of me for staying in Hollywood and not another neighborhood. I've been staying at the Roosevelt for years even if my LA friends make fun of me for staying in Hollywood and not another neighborhood. I gotta say that on my last visit that was for a week, I noticed that the hotel just doesn't seem to care about making sure its guests are taken care of. It's something I looked past during other stays, I mean, it's Hollywood. I get it. But the hotel rented out everything from the pool (without a heads up when I reserved) to blocking off the main elevators for two days so somebody could set up for a party. Also, what the heck is up with the terrible in-room desk situation? A stool? Get a chair in there, please. People need to work. Read less
