We stayed at the Westin Monache for three nights in August during Covid-19 restrictions. We chose the Westin for its proximity to the Village. We arrived late so check in was easy. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful with hiking & restaurant recommendations. We had a very clean one-bedroom suite with a kitchenette - room 516. The bedroom was kind of tight though with not much space to walk around the bed. Note: don’t leave a drawer partially open on the tv stand/bureau or your hip will find it in the middle of the night. We found the bed rather uncomfortable with some very flat pillows. We called Service Express to get some foam pillows and extra towels. Got a knock on the door, outside the door was a garbage bag with two of the same flat pillows and a blanket – no towels. Noise was also an issue during our stay. The Door Slamming Olympics went on unabated all day and night! Throw in barking dogs and the trampoline party from the room above us, it was one of the noisiest hotels I have ever experienced. Also, there are only two elevators on the property with restriction of two people per elevator left us waiting 20 minutes or more. At check out, I asked about the $25 resort fee. I feel at this time it is extortion. I was told it covered coffee, internet and the pool. We didn't use the pool as it was packed with screaming kids. The in-room coffee maker is always to be avoided! Additionally, I was never able to access the internet past the log in screen. I was told that a manager would call me to discuss the charges on my bill. I haven’t received any call. Bottom line: The Westin was just OK but for the price we paid and the noise - we won’t be back. I stayed for two nights in August 2019. This place was disappointing for a Marriott. It was not up to Marriott standards and I wouldn’t return. The room had a weird smell as if they were trying to cover up the smell of dog. There were lots of dogs at this property. I stayed for two nights in August 2019. This place was disappointing for a Marriott. It was not up to Marriott standards and I wouldn’t return. The room had a weird smell as if they were trying to cover up the smell of dog. There were lots of dogs at this property. If you don’t like dogs or your kids aren’t fond of them, then this isn’t the place for you. We rode in the elevator with dogs multiple times. I’ve never been at a hotel with so many dogs. We have a dog and my son wasn’t sure at times when a dog got on the elevator and came right up to him. There was dog hair in the hallways and no attempt to vacuum it up. I love my dog but I don’t want to vacation with everyone else’s dog. Overall, this property is lacking attention to details that you don’t often find at Marriott. My kids did enjoy the outdoor pool. This place wasn’t worth the money and unfortunately we won’t be returning. Read less

So this is a very nice hotel- what interaction we have had with the staff has been good. (Covid days) The location is excellent for strolling the downtown although steep for this desert resident. Rooms are nice. We can hear the neighbors run the water 🤷🏻‍♂️ so not soundproof. Haven’t visited but looks like a nice pool. Wear your mask - stay… Read more

Kudos to the housekeeping crew, my wife and I checked in to our room while the kids took a walk to canyon village to sanitize the room since we wanted to take extra steps to be safe and I have to admit that the clean was super clean, the Lysol sanitizing wipes showed no sign of dirt. I agree with the other poster's. They haven't figured it out here and are merely calling it in. For a suite in low season and what we were paying, it felt like they were "doing us a favor" by being open. We also had no coffee, we were told they didn't get their Starbucks shipment? No cream cheese for bagels either, another shipment issue. Half… Read more

For a suite in low season and what we were paying, it felt like they were "doing us a favor" by being open. We also had no coffee, we were told they didn't get their Starbucks shipment? No cream cheese for bagels either, another shipment issue. Half the electrical sockets in the suite were dead. They wouldn't clean "due to covid 19" funny, we went to Tahoe the next day and stayed at a resort with similar costs and they were happy to clean our room and park our car. At checkout, I had some gift cards and watched the woman fumble with them using tissues to get the codes off them, maybe get this woman some gloves if she's that paranoid. Again, felt like she was doing me a favor and I was checking out of a hospital. It was a depressing atmosphere. Just stay closed then would be my advice. Sorry to say, I wont be back. Probably great in the winter but who knows. Read less
