Meritage Resort and Spa

Napa, Napa Valley Wine Region

The hotel

You know you’ve reached wine country when you arrive at Meritage Resort & Spa. On the threshold of Napa Valley, its design may be Tuscan-inspired, but its soul is pure Napa, with views of a grapevine-covered slope as you swim, hiking (or strolling) trails through nine acres of vineyards, an underground tasting room, and wine served at every turn. But it’s also a place that recognises exceptional wine should be paired with life’s other luxuries: separate adult and family pools, al fresco fireplaces and whirlpools, lazy Sunday brunches, and wining and dining venues like award-winning Siena, the Crush bowling lounge, a café-come-gelateria, and a luxury wine bar. But it’s the Estate Cave that promises the most indulgence; 40 ft underground, it hosts a wine tasting room and Spa Terra’s steam grottos and soaking pools.

We chose this amazing resort for an impromptu spa weekend. What an amazing place. Great check-in with complimentary proseco. Mailani and the gentleman opening the bottle in the picture were great and very professional. We did the spa at the Spa Terra, and it was what we needed as front liners. We were greeted by Eli, and she was very professional and even offered an extra day in their facilities due to the early closing inconvenience. Anaid found us inside the women's locker room and attended to our needs and gave us rose prosecco. What great service.. What made my day even more amazing was the excellent deep tissue and foot massage/scrub by Lucas.. OMG!!!! he has magic hands.. he took all the knots away, and my whole well-being is so relaxed. I couldn't have asked for a better masseuse.. he was professional, and I had the best massage ever. He is a must ask if you want a real deep tissue massage. He finds your knots and works it out. My friend Richard and she said he was awesome also. She was so relaxed. We haven't been to a spa in 2 years since the pandemic and what a great way to start and big shoes to fill. We ended this day with relaxing in the pool and going to the hotel bar.. Joselito and Manuel were so engaging, professional, and friendly. They gave us great recommendations for food and drinks.. joselito is a great bartender. Wow. Awesome drinks and hospitality. The only con was the charcuterie board from room service. The meats were a bit old because it was brownish in color. Also, my bed last night was literally broken and hard to sleep in. After talking to Noora at the front desk, she immediately moved us and reported it to their engineering department to change that matress. It was handled promptly and also sent a bellman to transfer our belongings. Otherwise, from the check-in, bellman, spa attendees, and food/beverages workers, everyone has been awesome and made our experience memorable. Again, being frontliners, all we want is to get away and relax; this place was amazing to do just that - RELAX. The property has a location across the street with a grocery store and brewery. This property has a pub with a bowling alley, with amazing food and a great place to watch football games. This place has a chapel, and I love the crucifix and rosary in the bedside table. I had a blast here, and this is a must in Napa... Read less

We were excited to visit Meritage in Napa. The place was practically empty but given Covid we were glad about that. The upgraded room to be on the courtyard had a construction lift outside our door to the courtyard. This was a special occasion as it was a 70th birthday celebration. We were moved to another room where the TV didn’t work nor did the lights for the bar. Usually when you pay this much for a room the refrigerator is stocked with treats. No treats! Just 2 bottles of water. The room was ok. Nothing special. I expected more! They also charged an additional $30 “resort” fee on top of the $320 room rate even though their coffee bar was closed as were many of the other gathering places. Good from the room service was expensive and disappointing with very few options. Read less

We had no intentions of being in Napa, but when plans changed The Meritage didn’t disappoint. Savannah at the front desk was wonderful and Daniel in Bell service was exceptional. Highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Napa.
