The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

The customer service was horrendous! I checked in on Sunday, April 21st, 2024. The next morning at 6am, there was loud hammering and drilling sounds. I went online to chat with their front desk via the app. They first claimed it was noise from the construction happening across the street, to tear down the Tropicana Hotel. When I bluntly stated the noise was coming from one floor above, they then said that the “just found out that there was a plumbing issue being repaired”… Fine… let it go one day. The next morning, THE SAME THING HAPPENED! This time, I called the front desk via phone. The front desk rep was so incredibly rude at 6:15/6:30am, stating the same thing —- that it was just the Tropicana getting torn down. The building is still in tact! When I continued complaining, she said there was nothing she could do, and that the plumbing repairs would be fixed shortly. YES! She all of a sudden said there were plumbing issues being repaired internally! I don’t know if the staff is told to lie initially, but this is ridiculous! After being refused a change of rooms via phone, I walked down to the front desk. I complained and reiterated everything… yet again, I was given the same BS excuse about the Tropicana making the noise. For f’s sake… I wasn’t even facing the Tropicana!when I DEMANDED a room change, the front desk person then asked a Manager, and I was finally granted one —- it was nearly 8am by then, and I was there for a work conference! While getting a new room key for me, the front desk rep just rolled her eyes, as I asked why she and other staff used “Tropicana” as a blanket excuse, when they were all aware of the plumbing issue internally. She then told me to be happy I even got another room! Simply unbelievable! I’ll stick with Caesar’s properties forever now Read less

It was my husband and I first time staying at the MGM Grand and we had a great experience. The pool area is pleasant and the staff was amazing. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean. Very convenient location in the strip. It was a fun getaway and we look forward to visit again.

Went on a birthday trip with a group of friends. Everyone had their own rooms and there was no issues with checking in. I’m having an experience of a lifetime hoping to go back really soon.

The mini bar in the room should be properly labeled. Not a misguided label that makes you think it’s $35 to restock what you drank. I should not be paying $300 dollars in liquor when the stay only cost $400 dollars even when I upgrade rooms. It all feels like a scam for the hotel to get more money. It ruined my trip at checkout…

I did not purchase an upgraded room with a view of the strip - therefore, a view of a retaining wall/window well was what I received. NO view of anything...only a few inches of the sky. (And no - I did not purchase a discounted room with obstructed views.) The bed was comfortable. The shower was tiny. (And I'm not a big person.) Not enough… Read more
I did not purchase an upgraded room with a view of the strip - therefore, a view of a retaining wall/window well was what I received. NO view of anything...only a few inches of the sky. (And no - I did not purchase a discounted room with obstructed views.) The bed was comfortable. The shower was tiny. (And I'm not a big person.) Not enough room to even bend over and shave your legs. Be prepared to purchase your tubes for the lazy river. There are no rentals. You will haul it back and forth from the pool to your room each day. You may bring your own and pay $10 for them to air it up. (And still haul it back and forth.) The largest pool was only open one day during our stay which meant the lazy river and the smaller "main" pool were packed. And there were minimal bathrooms at the pool plus some stalls not working. Stood in line regularly to use the restroom. (I'm certain guests decided to just pee in the pool!!) The monorail is convenient to get to from within the resort. Brought my daughter on a trip for her senior year. She couldn't even see the Vegas lights from our room. We won't stay at this property again. Read less
