MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

Nose bleed! The aircon in the room is so dry that after two days my lips were chapped, my eyes were red and my nose literally bleed. Even off the air still comes in as it provides oxygen to the room as the windows don't open. Asked the front desk, they came but no solution. I have stayed at the Venetian and Bellagio neither did that. I had to… Read more

Our first visit to Vegas. This hotel was such a disappointment. We arrived late, like midnight, after a long day we were looking forward to our stay at MGM Grand. Finally made it to the head of the queue and the lone checkin assistant and was greet by them saying "Passport and Credit card". Not Hello. Not Welcome to the MGM Grand Las Vegas. Nope. We made it to our room. And slept. Next morning was check out as we had booked a different room for the rest of our stay. We didn't notice at first, perhaps because we were so pleased to be in Vegas. Our room was filthy. In fact we didn't notice until the late afternoon of the day before we were leaving. This place simply was dusted in quite a while. Like a month? Of course if you want to make a complaint you have to join a queue to speak to the desk staff. I know this as when checking out I approached one of four free concierge desk staff and informed him I wanted to make a complaint. I was advised to join the queue to speak to the main desk staff. I pointed out the queue was at least 45 minutes long. He reminded me they were the largest hotel in the world. I pointed out that they might be, but they sadly have their customer service so so so wrong Read less

Staff could not explain the itemized billing or as to why I was charge a deposit and then the full amount of the reservation when the deposit was supposed to go towards the total amount. Still have not gotten my money back and they really don’t seem to care when I reach out to customer service. It was only $368 but when the reservation on their own website says this will be deducted from your bill at check in the then you’re charged the full amount it’s pretty damn frustrating not to mention it’s illegal. I have emails and screenshots but yet no one at the property has been any help getting it resolved Read less
