Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. The Vdara really is an oasis in the desert.

We stayed for the first time at Vdara with a check-in on 11/25 for 3 nights and check-out on 11/28. Although we have consistently stayed at MGM Properties for the past several years, this is the first time at Vdara and I have to give it excellent ratings with just a few "must be improved" The front desk was super efficient when we checked in and they did kindly upgrade us from a standard parlor room to a Vdara Suite on Floor 40. We truly appreciated this as Gold Members. thank you! Our room was fantastic and super large and spacious. We found the room to be very clean overall; however, they really could do a better job cleaning and looking after "hard to reach" areas. For example, the top of our refrigerator has clearly not been cleaned in well over a year. There are also two empty water bottles on top of the refrigerator. In the bedroom closet are two dirty socks that someone left previously. Please look after these areas! Even though we requested housekeeping one of our three days, they did not recognize these items during our stayover cleaning either. We also requested two plates and cutlery two days in a row, and it never came. Things like above should be easy to remedy and they truly need to try better in this regard. Otherwise, we had an excellent stay. Vdara is non-smoking, quiet and beautiful. Although maybe slightly starting to wear in the rooms, I would imagine in a few years these rooms will be on the remodel list. we love the proxmity to Bellagio, Aria and Cosmo, while still having what seems to be our own little private enclave. Great stay, and I look forward to returning again in the future! Read less

First time at Vdara but not in an MGM property. Checked in at the member's lane (I am a lowly member - we don't gamble). I decided to 'apply' the $20 hack. Omer gladly took the $20 and told us of two options: lower floor for immediate availability or a bit of a longer wait for higher floor with fountain view. Of course you go up, never mind if we waited, as we were early (2PM) for our 3PM checkin anyway. As tired as we were from driving from CA, we waited in the lounge. Since the checkin was going fast, I decided after 45 min to followup. Totally ignored by Omer (no acknowledgement - even when he was not attending to another guest) and the other associate (white young female) was rather brusque. Told me room wasn't ready. So we wait. After another 45 min, I go up and she says the room won't be ready until early evening because there were issues with the shampoo (????). So we were checked in to the lower floor. So after $20 and 90 minutes, we went to our assigned room and the attached photo was what greeted us just outside the room. The yellow microfiber cloth was picked up after an hour but the other two items remained until the next day. Our room was what we booked, so no surprises nor disappointments. Had to request slippers and robes, the minibar was not fully stocked so I took photo just in case I am charged for something I hadn't consumed. Despite a functional kitchen, you will have to request for pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. Even the corkscrew provided was not good enough to open a bottle of wine. Front desk service leaves a lot to be desired. Housekeeping services saved the review from being a one star. Promising. For me, that's all it is - a promise. Read less

The professional pics of our room selection created a really high expectation that fell short. The view from our room 23-023 was amazing. However, our first impressions of the room was worn out and dirty. Carpeting in rooms today is out dated. The carpet in that room was disgusting. It had stains and spots throughout and I was not comfortable walking around with my bare feet. The end tables had water stains. Fingers prints on the windows and desk. But the most disturbing and disgusting part about the room besides the carpet was the bedding. The sheets and duvet were both stained. Talk about nasty and creepy. We had to strip the bed clean ourselves and ask for all new bedding. How housing keeping missed that is beyond me. We basically lived out of our suitcases because there was no place in the bedroom to store our belonging. For the money being charged for these rooms it just did not leave me wanting to come back. I will be giving sufficient warning to anyone that asks me about Vdara. Read less

Based on reviews my wife and I stayed at the Vdara, Nov the 3rd - Nov 7th. Our stay at the Vdara was a nightmare. We found ten issues in our room. Dirty carpet, wet carpet, loose shower handle, lamp that didn't work, fridge with frost build up, chocolate on chairs, pubic hair on toilet seat, blood stains on sheets, drawer panel came off (was broken previously), garbage left outside our room for a full day. Someone looked at our room and said that we would get another similar room asap. Was given another room, not close to the room that we had paid for. Most hotels give upgrades when there are issues with a room, our room was downgraded. We spent about six to eight hours trying to get the proper room. Matt and Omer at the front desk just made excuses to get us to accept a lesser room. First day in Vegas was ruined. Finally a manager named Luis got us a similar room. Wouldn't comp us a nights stay, told us that he wouldn't because we booked through Expedia, not the Vdara. He made us feel like second rate guests because we booked through Expedia. My wife and I have been to Las Vegas several times, by far the worst hotel/casino experience we have had. We will never stay at the Vdara again. What a nightmare!!! Read less

Great family friendly space. No casino, so no smoke filled lobby. Accessible to strip. Nice large rooms suitable for families. Special shout out to Mike Philogene from security. Mike is very kind and helpful. Always greeted us warmly and made my son feel special.
