Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Designed for those who want to tap into the energy and excitement of Las Vegas but would prefer to enjoy it from an exclusive, non-gaming and smoke-free resort, Vdara is one of few hotels in Vegas not to house a casino. What you get instead is a cosmopolitan, all-suite hotel that feels blissfully private despite being in the heart of the action. The cutting-edge pool is surrounded by private retreats, semi-private plunge pools and cabanas; there’s a world-class spa, and you are a few short minutes away from a dizzying range of dining, shopping and entertainment options, so you’ll never be short of things to do. The Vdara really is an oasis in the desert.

I can honestly say this was the worst hotel experience I have had in years. I have never written a review but this was beyond unacceptable: 1. 3 days without my room cleaned despite leaving many messages and having the green service light on. I even called each morning to request it and that I would be out for the day and I came home each evening to nothing. They didn’t even bring me toilet paper when requested and I had to use Kleenex when using the restroom. We didn’t have clean towels for two days despite many requests. 2. I ordered room service every morning, and every morning they got my order wrong. It also came in a to-go bag and plastic plates and cutlery that seemed very non-luxury. 3. I had to request a coffee maker to be brought to the room. I did and it never came. I gave up. 4. When I was leaving for my red eye flight, I waited for a man to store my luggage while I ran to say goodbye to someone and it took 20 minutes for me to track down a doorman who was inside talking to other employees. It was all just bad. I can’t believe what a terrible experience it was. Positives: Jay the masseuse at the spa, fitness center and bartenders in lobby bar. I stay here every year for this conference and I will never stay here again. Read less

I think this is my new favorite hotel in Vegas. It isn't fancy, but it is clean, quiet, smoke-free, and still super close to everything. I've stayed twice now and enjoyed each time. The first time was last fall, and I stayed in a two bedroom corner suite with my husband and another couple. It was a huge space, and very comfortable. The view from the bathtub in one of the bedrooms inspired several hilarious pictures (we're immature, I know). The last time I stayed at Vdara was this past July, and I shared a room with my sister. It was a double queen room, and there was plenty of space for the both of us. Having the small fridge was really helpful to keep us stocked up on cold water! We visited the pool one morning, and it was nice and quiet. Each time I was there, the staff were all very nice, and we had no issues at all! I like that there is a walkway between Vdara and Bellagio. I made use of it many times to get around. Read less

Vdara was OK for a business trip but this is not a luxury 5 start resort and I wouldn't stay here for a personal trip. I liked that the suites have full kitchens so you can save on food spending but you have to ask for the dishes and they only provide plastic cutlery. The elevators were fast and never had to wait which I appreciated. There was nothing luxurious about the pool - it looked like a motel. Drinks were weak and watery and sunscreen costs $30. Several maintenance issues with the room - our door handle was falling off, one of the reading lights in the bedroom was falling off, and the blinds don't block out the sunlight. Read less
