The New York EDITION

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A taste of elite New York living, the residential feel of The New York EDITION sets it apart from your average Manhattan hotel. Inside an historic clocktower, near the Flatiron building and Madison Square Park, its grand interiors are swathed in neutral, warm, ivory and oatmeal. The elegant guestrooms are just as decadent, featuring oversized windows, rain showers, complimentary WiFi, 48” HDTVs, and BEATS Bluetooth speakers. Its spa is reserved exclusively for hotel guests, but there’s no keeping New York’s gastro-aficionados from The Clocktower: with Michelin starred Jason Atherton at the helm, its classic-meets-contemporary British menu is served in three exquisite dining rooms (and the Lobby Bar). The centrepiece of the dining experience is the Gold Bar, with its gilt-framed photos, 3 foot globe chandelier, glistening cocktails, and 24k gold leaf bar ensuring it lives up to its name.

Our first time staying at the NY Edition and we were not disappointed. Our room was not ready when we arrived so we were offered a complimentary welcome cocktail in the lounge area. This hotel is beautiful with a great location. We typically stay in Times Square so this was a welcome change of pace. I am looking forward to staying here again!

Visited the hotel in the beginning of 2020. I received excellent service from Peter - better than any I have ever received. Very accommodating. Also ask for Elias and Al for great service too! They made me feel very at home and I really enjoyed my trip.

The hotel has a lot of things right (location, service, bed, Le Labo amenities, room layouts). Concierge reached out to me ahead of the time to get things right though I'm not 100% sure if the handoff from Concierge to Front desk was smooth (front desk had no idea we had spa pre-booked). Concierge reached out to me ahead of the time to get things right though I'm not 100% sure if the handoff from Concierge to Front desk was smooth (front desk had no idea we had spa pre-booked). Lobby bar staffs were very nice. But the major attraction point for me is the location. Nomad is definitely much vibrant lately and you can't do better if you are seeking more quiet but authentic NYC experience. Oh and the view from city view room is priceless. On the other hand, price was tad bit on the higher side for what you are getting (Edition premium I think). Room could've been better cleaned up (had previous guest's pen on the floor by the bed). The room I suppose reminded me of Ian ?Schrager's the other hotel (Public hotel) a little bit too much. Also, there's steps from the door to the front desk that made me wonder how accessible friendly the hotel is (not that it isn't but obviously seems difficult to get to the front desk/concierge). also, gym didn't seem luxurious and there was no swimming pool. all in all, I think I would visit the hotel again maybe for longer duration if the price is right (maybe another off season). Not the best NYC hotel I've been but has enough positives and one amazing location. Read less

Location was great... there's a shake shack across the street in the park. Easy access to uptown or downtown. We are Platinum level Mariott rewards members so we were upgraded to an amazing suite which was very much appreciated and we had no complaints at all. Yes the lobby is chilly and yes there is a particular scent when entering the hotel and which is amplified in the evening when they light the many, many candles around the lobby so if you are sensitive to scent then this may not be the hotel for you. Was disappointed with the "spa" as its just 2 treatment rooms so not really a spa with hot tub or steam room. The gym however is very well equipped and impressive. Would absolutely stay here again. The hotel overall is Amazing. I love their signature scent from Le Labo. Upon our first stay, we were put in a room that accommodates handicapped individuals - we were not informed that this would be the room we would be placed in. The issue however, was addressed and we were moved in to a different room. The staff were all polite and responsive,… Read more

Upon our first stay, we were put in a room that accommodates handicapped individuals - we were not informed that this would be the room we would be placed in. The issue however, was addressed and we were moved in to a different room. The staff were all polite and responsive, the beds were extremely comfortable (the duvet and pillows as well), the housecoats were great - overall really nothing to complain about. The room service is a bit over priced and cocktails as well but I guess if you're staying in a luxury hotel, it isn't all that surprising. Definitely would recommend the Hotel. Read less
