The New York EDITION

Midtown, New York

The hotel

A taste of elite New York living, the residential feel of The New York EDITION sets it apart from your average Manhattan hotel. Inside an historic clocktower, near the Flatiron building and Madison Square Park, its grand interiors are swathed in neutral, warm, ivory and oatmeal. The elegant guestrooms are just as decadent, featuring oversized windows, rain showers, complimentary WiFi, 48” HDTVs, and BEATS Bluetooth speakers. Its spa is reserved exclusively for hotel guests, but there’s no keeping New York’s gastro-aficionados from The Clocktower: with Michelin starred Jason Atherton at the helm, its classic-meets-contemporary British menu is served in three exquisite dining rooms (and the Lobby Bar). The centrepiece of the dining experience is the Gold Bar, with its gilt-framed photos, 3 foot globe chandelier, glistening cocktails, and 24k gold leaf bar ensuring it lives up to its name.

I just checked out of The New York EDITION after a 2 night stay. The hotel is chic and the food and drinks are awesome. The staff was all very nice. Great customer service. But,,,,, the bed in room 1804 was absolutely horrible. I spent two night with completely unsatisfactory sleep. I was very surprised because I have recently stayed at the Miami Beach EDITION and the bed was amazing!!! I'm not sure if they're getting old and need to be replaced but it was squeaky and just not comfortable at all. I know giving only 2 stars for just one problem is sever but I also think that the primary thing a hotel should deliver on is a good nights sleep. I wanted to love this hotel but I won't be returning because of this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Read less

Great hotel room- really well designed to use the small NYC room size. What I loved most is that there were only 6 rooms on the floor so it was quiet and felt like a boutique hotel experience. I had a corner king on the 10th floor and it was quiet and cozy. Bathroom is spacious- much bigger than expected for a NYC. Loved the small sofa with table… Read more

I had a corner king on the 10th floor and it was quiet and cozy. Bathroom is spacious- much bigger than expected for a NYC. Loved the small sofa with table and bench- great for working and eating. My only gripe is that room service was super expensive and they charge a $10 delivery fee on top of the high prices. To me, room service IS delivery, so the fee seems steep. But I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Really enjoyed the stay. Read less

There is NO LUXURY whatsoever in this hotel! Nothing about the hotel is high-end. It feels like staying in a common Marriott or even a Holiday Inn, except with good service guaranteed overall because the staff is very well trained (except for the unfriendly bar tender). It feels like staying in a common Marriott or even a Holiday Inn, except with good service guaranteed overall because the staff is very well trained (except for the unfriendly bar tender). The Superior Room is tiny and uncomfortable. The food choices are extremely limited. We could have stayed at the St. Regis for a little more and experience great everything. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE EXPECTING ANY SORT OF PAMPERING OR LUXURY. What you pay is unreasonable for what little you get! Read less
